I was at that game. When the giants were backed up in their 1 yard line I was joking around with the jet fans around me calling for a 99 yard play, than Victor Cruz became my savior that day.. What a day
I was at this too! Season ticket holder for the giants . Bought tickets for this when the season started , then cowboys following week then falcons playoff game . Those 3 weeks in row was great but bad for my body. I was in my late 20’s and tailgated hard those games!
Man I remember going up to my parents house for Xmas and watching this game with my father who's a Jets fan & I being a Giants fan. Man was it fun for me! Lol classic game. From the Cruz juke for 99 yards and Bradshaw laying the wood to pretty much seal it was priceless. I cant believe i am saying this...the good old days! Felt like it was yesterday. Go Gmen!
Rex Ryan was famous for doing that. His first ever home game as the jets head coach, against the pats he sent out all ex patriots players for the coin toss, for instance
Man Bradshaws running style is truly one of a kind. Same with jacobs 2 unique runners made for in my opinion one of the best rb duos ever. In today’s nfl a lot of backs catch the ball and whatever and as good as they may be Bradshaw and jacobs we’re both run 1st backs and could still catch the ball if needed.
Gemini Man he wasn’t terrible in their scheme but it was run first sort of like bottles last year but mark did a little better the team went to shit when they changed to pass first
Watching this after both Jets and Giants were embarrassed in week one of 2019. Man I wish the Giants were a slim fraction of what this game was right now.
We thought joking with my mom and telling her we eloped because we were expecting a baby would be funny on Xmas 2011 to mess with her! Then the day after Xmas we learned we really were expecting! Joke was on us. Because 8-24-12 my daughter layla was born! We joked her right into existence. Lol
- Little did anyone know at the time that this game would kickstart the Giants' run to their 2nd Super Bowl in 4 seasons; the Jets were favored coming in, a lot of confidence and swagger on their side while the Giants were a wounded team coming in, but the Giants turned this game around after a sluggish start & wound up dominating the 2nd half en route to winning this game...thus opening the door for the G-Men to make another improbable run to victory in Super Bowl XLVI. :-D Meanwhile, the Jets....well they've never really been the same since this game....& this was 7 years ago....Lol
Dino's Games988 bandwagons aren’t “fans” in my opinion. But I hope the Jets can start dominating that division soon, Tom Brady wont be playing that much longer.
Who’s here after the rookie Daniel Jones led Giants just beat the Jets 31-21? Edit: 5:15 If you want to see Victor Cruz’ 99 yard TD. Man I miss that guy 😭
2011 was his only true season. From 2012 to 2015, he had nothing but long term injuries. 2016 he was "somewhat" relevant, but by 2017 he was out of the NFL. Shame. He was a 6'1" 215 lb Slot WR who played like a TE. Guy was a beast.
Fun fact: as of the 2023 season, this is the last time the Giants beat the Jets. A major reversal of fortunes over the past decade, as this game was the last in a streak of 5 straight Giants wins over the Jets
For all the talk about the Jets being little brother, it’s worth noting this was the last time the Giants beat the Jets in the regular season. Sad how far both these franchises have fallen.
14:14 Dropkick style onside kick attempt ? I realize it's a free kick but you almost never see that. Even punter Pat McCafee used a tee for onside kicks. I realize McCafee doubled as a long distance field goal specialist but still wouldn't doing it that way just make things harder ? Maybe the thinking was the bounce off a dropkick is different and therefore harder to secure ?
Pardon me I think you may be seeing ghosts. I won't excuse use being trash but y'all haven't been truly relavent since 69. We both suck atm but I may have have to consult you for advice on dealing with it since you've been living this nightmare longer then I've been alive
Both teams needed this win to have a realistic chance at the playoffs. Jets lost and haven't made the playoffs since. Giants won and won the super bowl. Sorta sums up what my jets fan life is like
The Jets in this game defeated themselves. Their emphasis on psychological warfare leading up to the game (covering up all the pictures of the Giants' historical success, sending out Plexico Burress for the coin toss) reveals what they knew deep down was their own weakness. And they let themselves be psyched out. At the end, after they made it a one-score game, it looked like they were going to drive up the field and take the lead with no time left, but rather than the run game, which had been successful all game (know how many current Hall of Famers were on the field that day? One, the Jets' running back, LaDanian Tomlinson), they panicked and turned to the passing game, putting it in the hands of Mark "Sanchise", and went nowhere, eventually handing the Giants another two points and an easy shot at an insurance TD.
After this game it seemed like the rex ryan mystique wore off back when he was considered a great coach who yelled let's get friggen snacks lmao the week 17 game at miami besides this game best defines the 2011 jets
Victor Cruz’s 99 yard touchdown, the play that kick started the Giants’ Super Bowl run that season
Yes and Rex's Ryan's mouth
Naaaahhh they both trash. Just got lucky
Plus Giants ain't gonna do shit ever again cuz they all gonna quarentine and die of corollavirus
Bradshaw's TD

"You wanna get a positive play here so you can punt from a normal distance"
Victor Cruz: OR.... Hear me out...
Turning point for the Jets. Haven’t been the same since
Chris Kreager neither have the Giants yes we won SB that year but since that we’ve been shit too
@@kevinburke6055 I blame management not maintaining that line thus wasting Eli's prime.
I think the turning point was Sanchez' butt fumble tbh, but yeah this was bad too
Nah, the Thanksgiving blowout against New England was the beginning of the end.
When were the jets ever right
I miss Victor Cruz 💔
Same
@Daniel Roberts someone's salty
DC Yankee Fr 😂
DC Yankee pretty sure humans don’t really have a taste but...
CRUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
One of the rare times in the NFL when you'll hear cheers for both teams 😂
Not a moment during this game when it was quiet
2011 got to be one of the greatest nfl seasons ever! so much happened that year
9:05 O MY GOD Bradshaw completely steamrolled that jets defender somebody call the damn E.M.T
Wait till you see what Jamal does to the Giants in 2019
VICTOR CRUZ 99 YARDS

Love how the Jets send Plaxico up alone as if that'll be some type of psychological advantage, and seeing Justin Tuck just brush him off is great
Rex Ryan was famous for doing that. His first ever home game as the jets head coach, against the pats he sent out all ex patriots players for the coin toss, for instance
I remember screaming in excitement with my dad watching that Victor Cruz touchdown.

Ahmad Bradshaw absolutely trucking Brodney Pool is still one of my favorite moments from that season.
Those were the good days
That was a great year. 9-7 finish and then super bowl champs!
Merry Christmas nfl throwback
The game that sent the Giants into orbit!
What goes up must come down
Narrator- And they did
Mark Sanchez was so awful. Hard to think he was twice just a game away from the Superbowl, Jets from 2008-2011 were wasted talent from QB position

The Jets had game winning WR from 2 consecutive SuperBowls on this team. Plax in 42, Holmes in 43.
The moment when Rex's career went downhill.
I'll never forget when Jacobs said "time to shut up fat boy" after that game LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO
War eagle
Fun fact: Steve Weatherford the punter for the Giants here is now an avid body builder. No joke
And Burress looked so serious lol.
That game to me was an early Christmas present.
Plaxico was not the "shot" the Jet's were hoping for. LOL 😂😆
Memorable game it was Cruz & Bradshaw showed up hard body...that Christmas
15:16 The final play of the game where Christmas never ends
With the jets green and the white giants uniforms with the red stripe this makes a good Christmas game
What if these 2 met in super bowl 48
Both New York teams in their own stadium

James Dickman neither does the Giants

Both teams were expected to be really good that year!
Wish plax had retired a giant. That gun incident ruined a repeat run.
Pretty much 😢
New York will always be a giants town
