man, it's wild to watch you FLYING through these maps where I spent hours of my childhood :D it looks like the entirely of the prison level in EP1 was skipped as well, I guess it's something to do with managing to get to the end level button that you're not supposed to reach?
Normally you would be captured and after a few seconds you go to the next level automatically. What I did is I pressed the end level button while the automatic level change triggered. In Megaton Edition, game pause not works well in some menus, everything is freezed but the game actually plays so the buttonpress animation and the capture timer lines up and skips level twice.
@@dauswectus I see, that's really neat :D Thank you for taking the time to reply. And I meant to say, I'm in awe of your skills for being able to do this!
Hey! It's called death exiting. I'm starting the animation at the end button and right before the animation starts blow myself with the RPG. The animation continues and finishes the level, and starting the next level with full health.
i know it has been years and this might sound stupid, but does somebody know where i can download this game fully, and not the classic version which is all blurry and stuff, any help is appreciated
@@ShockwaveZero It wasn't me, I watched other speedruns and tried to follow it. There is a tutorial made by MR_WIGGELZ, its mostly uptodate: www.speedrun.com/duke3d/guide/ki44a
The iron bars that stop you from finishing the level before death row dont spawn if you are not touching the ground, so you can just jetpack to the end button and press it.
Hi! Late response, but I used to run this game. The trigger for the bars coming up is on the floor, so you can fly over it, but the dialogue still plays as though you got trapped. The game is programmed that that you will go to the next level when the "We're gonna try your ass" line finishes. So you fly over to the button, press it, which also tells the game to take you to the next level, but then open up the help menu, wait for the line of dialogue to finish, then close it. When you close the menu, you essentially line up two "take me to the next level" triggers, one from the dialogue ending, and one from pressing the button, so that they happen at the same time, and it skips a level. Hope this makes sense lol.
@@trbray123 It honestly wouldve made sense that it would by design skip that level because in that case they couldnt trap you. Or they couldve made you spawn elsewhere than on the electric chair in that case. Wouldve been cool
Its only possible to do it in megaton edition. If you fly to the exit button, press it and press f1, the capture exit trigger aligns with the nuke button and changes 2 levels instead of 1
Bought it back in 2016, sadly gearbox took it down when they released World Tour edition. But you can use pkDuke 1.3 with the original gamefiles which is really close to megaton edition.

@@ShockwaveZero Seeing this again, I can see my reply was pretty presumptuous. I've personally played my fair share of the Megaton Edition so it's almost second nature for me to see that menu and go "oh, that's obviously Megaton, who wouldn't know that", but I can see now that only a minority is going to know about that release at this point, especially since that version got taken down years ago now. Even with that said, if you pause on a frame at the main menu, you can see at the very bottom in small text it says [megaton], so it is there still, at least.

Try looking for "duke Nukem high resolution pack". I tried it years ago, graphics look like 2003 game.
Don't know, if you're still looking, but search for "Archive megaton edition" and the first link should be it
It's on steam for like $10.
