- Ride onboard with Bruce Anstey on the Padgetts Honda Superbike for the first lap of the 2016 Northwest200 Superbike Race1. during this lap Bruce clocked 209.1 mph. he didnt stop there either. Lap 2 he went on to 209.8mph. unfortunately it scared the b'jesus out of the camera so we dont have the whole 2nd lap. but whats .7mph from a standing start anyway. Incidently, Bruce tops 200mph on every lap of that race until a whoops moment at church.. battered and bruised but ok.

As a motorcyclist I am in absolute awe, at the skill and courage it takes to race a bike like that on street circuit! Huge respect. Proof that kiwis can fly :)

The acceleration between about 50MPH and 160MPH is nearly - literally - unbelievable. I cannot imagine holding on to a superbike under that level of acceleration. It's gotta feel like being fired out of a cannon.

209.8 mph absolutely mental! What's more is that he doesn't even look like he's close enough to the others to be getting any slip stream effect.

@@danbit5 yeah there's one guy just out of the front pack but looks like he's a good 50 metres off to me. Could be the camera lens skewing things though.

If you have ever driven that section 209.8 Mph the road is seriously bumpy even in a road car. How these guys can do those speeds and not crash??? I am totally awe of them all doing it
Totally. I’m playing Ride 4 on this track and keep crashing at like 190. SMH. For real though, I got balls on 2 wheels, but this is just insane.
Couldn’t imagine doing 200 on these roads. I do 180 on the I-5 south to San Diego, which is 5 lanes wide at some points, was scary AF.
These roads are considered smooth as glass.
Look up Dundrod or Tandragee. You could not go down them in a 4x4 much less a bike

Goes from 7th (I think) at Ballysally roundabout to 2nd at start/finish. Quality from Bruce
And some think max ( limp) wrist kills the game , has to come off 1st gear go kart tracks and then try mix it with the big boys .

I think all the bikes have traction control and wheelie control now. Makes keeping the throttle pinned on 200+ HP a little easier to manage.

luke stafford what in the ass ???? 😱😱😱. I couldnt imagine how differ this bike and wsbk ones. This fireblade has more top end. How it could be ?
Zikri Hafiz similar sort of power but different gearing set ups this bike has taller gearing designed for better top speed also has the slipstream effect, whereas WSBK and BSB will be geared more for acceleration. When he accelerates out of the first roundabout I believe he’s in first gear and pulls 100mph before grabbing second. Amazing machines

yeah man, that thing is so fast. Bruce overtake hickman at straight line like a a hell of 1000cc vs 600cc bike.

All road racers have nerves of steel. Look at the Dunlop dynasty. Three of them (including the greatest road racer ever) have been killed but they carry on doing it. I take my hat off to them.
