But by his standards, he isn't taking any risks here, this is a perfectly safe and smooth lap for him.

Milky is one of the many who do so much in the background to ensure the whole event runs as smooth as possible. Thank you to them all.
I’ve lost count of the number of TT onboard laps I’ve watched over the years, and this is easily the most satisfying I have ever seen. Racing line perfection and a glimpse into something a muppet like me will never achieve. It’s also easily the most terrifying… the number of times he left the track *vertically* - at speed - is something I have never really appreciated from all those other onboard laps I have watched. My respect just continues to grow for those who brave and master this track.

The keen eyesight is phenomenal - going from shadow to light in rapid succession and still being able to hold the bike on the racing path is absolutely astounding. His gear shifts are like the paddle shifts on a Ferrari. Being an old BMW 650 rider I can only watch in awe.
That was what stood out in my mind as well, the high contrast shaded/brightly lit spots in rapid succession seemed like it would make it way more challenging.
@@hendrikdebruin4012 Thanks for explaining, makes sense... Same here, no way I could cope with that, these guys must have higher clock speeds than me, lol.
Hard enough doing a lap on the video game, the lighting throws you off ingame too, I can't image how bad it is with natural sunlight on a morning tt lap thoughts scary enough.
When you put this on by accident and realize while washing dishes that it’s actually the real deal when you thought it was a video game. Any man who can step up to this level of competition within himself is an absolute hero to me regardless of whether he comes first of last. Humanity has savages, and these are certainly certified few among us that fit the bill.
@@jayytee8062 Any human being that can excel to this level of extreme sport and show what as a species we are capable is a hero of humanity far as I’m concerned. Anyone who's ever viewed their own dashcam or GoPro type footage after an event will tell you that it was faster/closer/scarier to be there person, than the recording makes it look. Worth bearing in mind when you see how utterly fast/close/terrifying this amazing footage is!!!
Definitely. I strapped a gopro to my Corvette when I took it to the dragon, tires were humming in some of the curves and ran it up to 75mph between some of the curves. Afterwards I felt like I finished a foot race. The gopro video looks like a spirited cruise, I was actually a little disappointed
And to think this a Sunday cruise for Milky compared to how he used to race flat out back in the day when he was competing. Top bloke having fun. Amazing footage.

Would be marvellous to have a video of this view with an overlay of the telemetry data - brakes, gear, tachometer and speed. Thanks for not putting music into the video! Audio is great!
The most amazing thing to me is how these guys can keep so focused. They literally memorize every single bump, curb, corner etc. I don't understand how they can do that at that speed! Maybe that's why I'm a spectator.
Watch Peter "Hickey" Hickman's lap record setting run from either the Hickey cam or the bike cam it's absolutely mental and super human,..or if you will,...otherworldly and beyond the normal adrenaline pumping riding of the average motorbike rider !!!He is fully connected in all aspects,...mind, body, bike, asphalt, and groove , {soul},...nand each element is dialed In to his ride {lap time smashing} as it were,... to daringly create his perfect "moment of zen" as the great John Stewart once said. I've been riding for over 40 years. I know about Milky's past. I know the Isle. This is the best video I've ever seen from the TT. In the slower parts, it reminds me of why i kept selling bikes the day after i rode like this. One tenth of a second late and death.
Absolutely epic! If you listen closely you can hear the camera pole hit the Traffic Light just where Bray Hill bottoms out around 0:31. Me and my dad were standing 10 feet from it and there was some bang! 😂💥 fantastic footage, delighted the camera made it!!
Pretty sure that's the bike bottoming out on the ground with the compression at the bottom of the hill. He's not going ridiculously fast but it's a road bike with softer suspension than a race bike.
@@GrindSultan maybe they're mistaken. You can see with your eyes in the video that it's the bike bottoming out because it's at exactly the same time as the bike compresses at the bottom of the hill. It also sounds like a bike bottoming out - a very brief scraping sound as the bodywork scrapes the road. Plus, it's actually slightly after those traffic lights.
@@sqwizzi I'm not arguing with him. You're arguing with me for expressing an opinion. I've just used my eyes & ears while watching video. He said "there was some bang". I'm saying he heard the bike bottoming out. My opinion. Not yours.
I watched this on a 75" stereo tv and I will say THIS IS BONKERS !! WOW. I need to go to the races next year to witness this in person. Absolutely Awesome !! That there is a steady head and nerves of steel. KUDOS
Of course, you DON"T really witness it in person if you are there - you see bikes flash by your viewing spot at incredible speeds. You don't really "see" a race! OTOH, we go to the IOM every year and there is nothing like it and it's great fun. Anybody who enjoys motorcycles should try to go to the TT (or the Manx GP) at least once. The accompanying events/meet-ups, etc are worth the trip on their own!!
@@stylo8845 He’s not even trying.. This is a basic ride to learn the course again mentally. The 1000cc finish 5+ minutes quicker than this. Avg. Sp. 136mph per lap.. That’s naughty riding, this is just a Sunday cruise for them
This has to be The coolest view of a TT motorcycle on the track. And to think he's not even doing full speed and look what it looks like. Now I want to see them do this with an F1 car, WRC car, BTCC cars. This needs to be done on all forms of racing. Thank you to whoever shared
The camera would add too much drag though, driving with that massive thing on a car would throw the weight and downforce way off, making them very unstable and unsafe
What impresses me most, besides the skill and courage of the riding, is how the camera image is so stable. Between a very clever mechanical gimbal of the camera mount and the electronic image stabilization, it is an amazing movie. You can see the camera mount platform on the rear of the bike vibrating and rotating with the bike, while the world just smoothly streaks into the lens.
Milky you remain a true TT legend! Love this magnificent road circuit. There is simply nothing that can match the Isle of Man TT!!!! Love the extended arm camera view, gives a great perspective of the TT course. The mind boggling fact of this beautiful lap of the course is that it’s around FIVE MINUTES SLOWER than the lap record!
What in the actual hell! I was having a hard time focusing on the road and corners just sitting on my couch watching it... I just cannot imagine the skill and focus it must take to do that. Incredible!!
An absolutely superb video! I still can’t believe that there are riders who run this fast, narrow, lined-with-unyielding-structures course voluntarily. Hats off to them!
It's getting your head round how far the camera pole sticks out snd realising he can't use full road.(see camera pole vs traffic light in first 30sec). Epic!
He most definitely isn't going race pace but also I challenge 80 to 90% of road riders who think they are fast to match it.. I enjoy my bikes but I would never fool myself into thinking I could go half as fast as the top riders.. when you see fast racers not even qualify, it should give you an idea of how insane this race is.. tt for life❤
@briangibson7767 yeah I could definitely tell he was holding back. Surviving a hot lap at IOM I'd say puts you in the top 0.1% of riders in the world. 3 riders died this year alone, hats off to anyone that takes on this course. It's a widowmaker

To have to ride that fast on a normal road, going in and out from sunshine to shade really tests your ability to see and anticipate the next move is incredible.
I assume these guys spend large portions of their life getting every twist and turn of the entire circuit dedicated to muscle memory. They could probably nearly do this in their sleep. I'm surprised there isn't (or maybe there is...) an IoMTT video game.
Great to see you blasting round the course, Milky. You're a wonderful character and super brave man, as are all competitors who tackle the world's greatest race course.

My bike sitting in my garage had all of its nuts and bolts fall off while I was watching this from my couch at home. If we were to start at the same time, there's a good chance that he'd be younger than me when we reach the end of the track. Gee-zus.
Fantastic imagery! This view I find harder to assimilate than the bike camera that is mounted in the front of the bike (giving the riders view). Both are such a barrage, that I feel like I'm on overload, after a few minutes of intense concentration, now that I'm reaching the age of 60. I remember hitting these speeds on my '00 Yamaha R1. How I miss the younger days! Great video!
That “track” is so incredibly treacherous at those speeds - and those jumps lol. Milky making it look easy from that perspective! Cool to zoom in as though riding pillion lol. Great way to really learn the TT! Awesome - thanks for this! ✊🏼
This is one of the most exciting and inspiring videos I have ever seen! This view is spectacular. I have the utmost respect for the riders. Thank you for this content!
Wow! Stunning footage...probably the best I have ever seen! The technology represented in this vid (motorcycle, camera, camera mount and software) is off the charts, As an old-ish guy, I am sitting here thinking, "The future is now!"
Also an old-ish guy, the most impressive new thing was that someone thought of making such a tough mount. The camera rolling viewpoint has been around a few years. It uses AI to guess where the horizon is : check some shots that have banked corners. There are no banked corners on the circuit :) Trees on those corners are strangely growing at an angle. The AI gets the horizon wrong briefly. The best TT lap footage ever captured. The tech in the camera is surprisingly cheap. Not having a disaster with the camera, as others have noted, seems to be part of the Human Intelligence here.
As a yankee I'm astonished how much tunnel vision one gets simply from this perspective Wonderful Thank you very much for the privilege of riding along with you young man. I'll stick to my cruisers thank you very much
I can feel he's taking this so leisurely. He's absolutely not squeezing that throttle through Sulby. But this is probably the most enjoyable onboard I've seen. The bike sounds great (I wish he peaked it more though) and the mountain section is like ASMR - chill! 🤣
This is amazing. I love motorcycles and love to ride but I'd have to be so familiar with this course before I'd even attempt it. This man is phenomenal. You can tell he knows the course like the back of his hand. That's pure adrenaline combined with skill. Years of experience. Thanks for the view and ride along. Yes, if he could set it up with speed and what gear he's in it would be great. You can tell what gear he's in by listening if you've riden before.
I only wish this had telemetry because I'd love to see exactly how fast he's going through those turns when he "slows way down" because I'm positive it's a lot faster than it looks and is a lot faster than I'd be willing to take on my bike. I'd also love to see what the top speed is on the straights too. This is the best TT video I've ever seen.
Man oh man - I was there in the 80’s and this is awesome. Any faster and I would fall off the chair, great courage and awesome video view. Takes real men to ride here. Keep the rubber burning.

Milky just out for a "cruise" to check "the condition"!! Love the "comm" exiting "Gooseneck" and clutch-fan wheelie out of "Creg-ny-baa" (probably missed a few gems...so I'll have to watch this another DOZEN times)!! Helluva VIEW, @ any rate!! 🙂
All the trees and associated shadows make this unbelievably dangerous and difficult to fathom how more aren’t killed every year. These guys are the best of the best and it’s amazing to watch. I’d love to see it in person someday.
You can tell this is a chill lap, especially in the way he takes his time in the braking zones and certain specific spots throughout the course...and yet he's still cruising at warp speed through most of it. Oh wow, that bit of clutch kick at ~19mn before going all out, like he's treating himself to a bit of fun after holding back for so long. Staying focused for so long at such speeds is phenomenal...
Wouah this is amazing video. The road track is very highspeed with continual light changes. Highest respect for those tightrope Knights fueled by the puriest adrenaline. It requires some skills coming from an other planet. Thanks for that video 🙏
Many thanks for the tour Milky, and all those involved in this production. Loved it! Looking forward to the day I can come over and do the same on that beautiful part of the planet :)
This is incredible footage. Personally I don't find it scary because it's so fast that he's riding beyond my ability to see the curves coming properly. And then doing this in dappled light! I enjoy taking my motorcycles out for some swift rides but this is something else entirely. One day I hope to watch for real! Actually I think there would be a vast difference in the viewing experience if you watched this on a high def big screen compared to my little android. I suspect that's the only way to really see and experience this...
Great Video, thanks 4 the ride along. Always have wanted to go watch this race, experience it in real life just once would be great. Maybe 1 of these years.
Don't forget that Milky is not riding at racing speed, he usually has a group of IOM novice Ridders following so they can get used to the circuit before their first races.....
I just looked up the lap records for the mountain course - Hickman did it in 16:42 in 2018. Thats a full 5 minutes faster than Milky here - almost 25% faster!! Absolutely mental.

@@mscir You experience momentary blind spots as you move from light to shade. In such a rapid succession I for one would not cope.
Hero....?
@@jayytee8062 ppl call them road warriors, so they could be heroes in my opinion ;p

Nah man, these people just want to die
@@jayytee8062 Any human being that can excel to this level of extreme sport and show what as a species we are capable is a hero of humanity far as I’m concerned. Hero is a thrown around term but whether they finish with podium position or last place, they are still all going 170mph through life and death turns. There are no losers in this sport I’d say.
Anyone who's ever viewed their own dashcam or GoPro type footage after an event will tell you that it was faster/closer/scarier to be there person, than the recording makes it look. Worth bearing in mind when you see how utterly fast/close/terrifying this amazing footage is!!!
this

Watch Peter "Hickey" Hickman's lap record setting run from either the Hickey cam or the bike cam it's absolutely mental and super human,..or if you will,...otherworldly and beyond the normal adrenaline pumping riding of the average motorbike rider !!!He is fully connected in all aspects,...mind, body, bike, asphalt, and groove , {soul},...nand each element is dialed In to his ride {lap time

Speed like this is just incomprehensible to me. Do riders memorize the course or is the rider reaction time insanely good or both?
@@craighermle7727 yeah they been round that course multiple times before to know turns etc

I wouldnt even go that fast in a game! It just shows the passion these riders have. Unreal 💚
14:20...breaking open towards the open sun into the countryside with nothing but road ahead of you. That looks absolutely amazing.
Thought the same!! Proper living&fun
I've been riding for over 40 years. I know about Milky's past. I know the Isle. This is the best video I've ever seen from the TT. In the slower parts, it reminds me of why i kept selling bikes the day after i rode like this. One tenth of a second late and death.
Thanks for reuploading this with a fixed view that allows for a better quality than the 360 version.
He's not going ridiculously fast but it's a road bike with softer suspension than a race bike.
holy shit that is insane! Could have gone very wrong, glad Milky is OK
@@JamesM0481 yeah mate keep arguing with blokes who saw/heard it first hand.. 🤔🤔

Note the braking and downshifts well before a turn comes into sight. He knows the course very well.
Exactly. You can only ride like this if you know the course.
Does him sitting upright (causing more wind drag) make a significant difference too?
@@stylo8845
He’s not even trying.. This is a basic ride to learn the course again mentally. The 1000cc finish 5+ minutes quicker than this. Avg. Sp. 136mph per lap.. That’s naughty riding, this is just a Sunday cruise for them
No braking, they downshift on almost everything. They will sometimes get 3 races done before they have to change the brakes
And this is why the world admires the TT bike riders. Incredible video.
This has to be The coolest view of a TT motorcycle on the track. And to think he's not even doing full speed and look what it looks like. Now I want to see them do this with an F1 car, WRC car, BTCC cars. This needs to be done on all forms of racing.
Thank you to whoever shared
There is a 2014 wrx that set the car time attack record for the course, I'm sure you could find the video
The camera would add too much drag though, driving with that massive thing on a car would throw the weight and downforce way off, making them very unstable and unsafe
I completely agree, this would be for exhibition or something practice or something. Just so cool. @@rastaboy_gamesnstuff7778
Amazing! Love this viewpoint and Milky isn’t even going full send. Big respect he’s still got it no doubt at all! 👏 👏
I would think he would be the sharpest as he is constantly intouch with any road works or any resurfacing
He definitely does
A casual wave is a big tell to how comfortable he is at this pace.

I love this. Randomly pausing it when he's flying by people is fun too. It's like the weirdest google street view ever
I didn't need to pause it because it was out stripping my data and was pausing constantly 😂
I saw so many random people on the pastures, but total black shirt blur.

Wow!
Stunning footage...probably the best I have ever seen!
The technology represented in this vid (motorcycle, camera, camera mount and software) is off the charts,
As an old-ish guy, I am sitting here thinking, "The future is now!"

I can't fathom how they do it. The shadows on the road add another level of difficulty that I didn't realize until I watched this vid.

Can we all agree that the true star of the show is the camera gimbal. Steady as a rock. 👍
Pretty sure it’s a 360 degree cam so no need for gimbal to stabilise. Still amazing how much clearer this is than most other onboards tho
That's clearly well within this man's ability. Very sensible, and about as safe as going fast can get. Brilliant.
All the trees and associated shadows make this unbelievably dangerous and difficult to fathom how more aren’t killed every year. These guys are the best of the best and it’s amazing to watch. I’d love to see it in person someday.
