- I've been playing a bunch of ck3 recently and was inspired to try and make some historically acurate-ish knights & soldiers today.

my allergies got me sounding extra nasally in this one... i apologize to all yall with ears out there
music from epidemicsound
shaky footage from me
2:49 the Rohan helmet might work for that.
I'm a bit torn if i like it or not for them
The Rohan helmet might work better for a group of Varangian mercenaries among the Byzantines, rather than for the Byzantines themselves.
@@Goldfyre The Bullet Helm or Nasal Helm looks Medieval Byzantine Helmets
This is super cool! I love history, especially the Byzantine, and Roman soldiers. The armor they used was always so cool!
Best part of the Harry Potter knight that you made is you can swap out that plume with a different color, give it a shield and cloak/half-cloak, and you instantly have a knight with a different faction or heraldry. Good for a tournament knight or “knights of the round table” situation.
That gambeson torso is perfect. I reccomend pairing it with the blue mando legs and changing the arms out for dark blue

Yes agreed
Here
The prince of Persia , or rider of rohan helmets could work quite well
Princess Mononoke spotted in the background. Possibly the greatest movie ever made imho.
By far your best direction yet, going for medieval realism is what the best and most ingenious designers in the MOC world do IMO. Finally removing the yellow which had it's controversy during the "SW yellow, but one brown" gate. I also think most of your followers are adults and the yellow heads are for 3 year olds... 😅 But in all seriousness, great work ❤❤❤
YES! It feels so good and refreshing to finally see a fellow history enthusiast! Thank you for this video, brother
0:50 you should use a icecream cone for the shield, its a lot more sturdy
No, no, Byzantium rarely had black colors in their uniforms. Honestly, purple or bright red details would suit them, and arms could be replaced with brown or red, and l gloves could be brown. And besides the Rohan helmet, a helmet with a nasal and aventail or a golden helmet from the sets for Prince of Persia could be suitable, or the most reliable option is an old-school helmet with an aventail.
Interesting builds. Definitely going to have to acquire some of these parts.
I see someone has been watching Princess Mononoke. 😊
the use of the Nearly Headless Nick is pretty cool
This is awesome we need a persian knight build to fight the Byzantine
The combination of that torso and those legs for the Byzantine soldiers is really interesting, great work!
For my part, I created a war elephant, more Persian/Carthaginian style, however I would like to place it in a Byzantine formation.
Sounds awesome to use an elephant. I bought a few of those for a zoo, but repurposing them war might be fun too.
@@pinobluevogel6458 It can give a lot even on its own, but I recommend inserting it into a diorama, even a small one. Perhaps against a small formation of opposing infantrymen.
Just as a clarification, I wanted to combine two models, but the basic one can be found by typing "lego war elephant tutorial mark of falworth" on google.
I hope it can be useful to you.
The gray balaclava head with exposed eyes makes for an excellent alternative to the mail coif head. I use it for my medieval Romans with the pearl dark gray nasal helm with aventail and the spectacle helmet.
What about another batch of peasant figures? I tried to combine the figures from the medieval market square with some of the new D&D CMF, but couldn't get many matches. 1:15 I agree about the Farmer's Cowl hood piece. They should bring it back, but also the classic peasant torsos from the castle kingdoms & castle fantasy era sets from around 10 years ago. Those were the best, but very expensive to buy today.
Cool video today :), I love how the crusaders turned out especially, I'm just so in love with the dragon torso
These are brilliant, the Roman theme on the cmf minifigs was so good while it lasted. Also I think the Rohirrim helmets go best for late Roman/Byzantine minifigs
🚨🗣️NEW VIDEO WAKE UP
I have already spent so much time drawing and 3D printing lego compatible medieval weapons and armour for a wargame i'm making
The byzantine soldiers have that lannister esthetic. Real nice Drip
Goldfyre, making unassuming Harry Potter figures expensive since 2024 ;)
Those are some sick looking custom figs and I love the realism. I hope you didn't get a sponsorship deal from those custom parts and figs websites, as I think they're a bit outside of my price range.
lol i really gotta dig through the HP minifigures on bricklink to see what else their is for castle people
@@Goldfyre So far, there is enough to offer variation at reasonable prices. Strangely enough I have more issues finding good heads than torso's and legs.
Unless someone is planning on building army sized minifigure collections, the supply out there is perfectly enough for random MOC building.
Lego defintely needs to make more castle sets
Lego is too busy making family sets and photo holder sets😞
All we need is a catapult
Lego missed so much potential with historical themes like rone and carthage
Very nice, now let's see Sultan Mehmed II's army
Great Video! The Minifigures look great!
My wallet: Oh, no! Wait a minute. I know what you're thinking, and you're wrong. Don't even-
these guys would look cool, patrolling the town square, especially looking for a bad guy made by another youtuber, the bad guy, his name, jeff.
I’ve never wanted to spend so much money by watching one video looks great
LOVE IT!!
For the Byzantine soldiers. You could use the helmet from Prince of Persia.
I really like history and I LOVE this
This Video resonates with me as I've been trying to make a Western Frank Army from the 9th Century.
Super vidéo depuis le temps que je l'attendais ❤😯😯
...mission accomplished.
Very good job.❤
Thanks!
Awesome looking figs!
love the concept!
The video was great. Do you think you could make some mocks and characters and then use them in a story that you would show in the next video.
Fun fact: The great helm is also called a bucket helm
Beautiful!
The Rohan helmet works best for the byzantine ant/or late antique soldiers
That’s so good pls make part 2
I really want to. I really need to do some varangians and some more vikings
Crossbowman + cross. While not unhistorical the Popes banned the use of Crossbows against fellow Christians.
For the crusades though, also during the hundred year war they used them
HISTORY!!!!!
hey goldfyre I am making a lego elvin army and i'm using the dragon knight from the new cmf with lady thor's helmet it makes a good combo you should try it
If you turn around the red dragon torso you can make a brigandine
this is so cool
i love it
What about the helmets from the Prince of Persia sets? Not 100% accurate, but IMO closer than the Vikings helm.
I just realised the fact that my locol retailers actually dont have the New dnd figs😢
Mine do but I’ve scanned every one and can’t find a single dragon born paladin😢
@@Rileythehalfblood Someone is beating you to them
@@JesusCheeseburger ha I know
They're even in discount stores and basically all toy stores as well. Availability is more an issue for which are still left on the shelves, than the actual product.
Wdym they are on shelves? I’ve searched 100+ of these and I haven’t found a single one
Spoke to a guy today who said they haven't even released the D&D CMF in his country. Guessing many stores are late with this product.
lmao, this is true
Yeah sadly that's how it is
@@samkerr6029 Correct, they're not out in Australia yet.
@@moffwibbles7896 Australia seems to be the most cursed modern country when it comes to Lego. Either it’s late or overpriced or both. And I bet a lot of kids Lego are discoloured due to the scorching sun.
HEY!?! the empirer constantstine the 4th needs your help assemble the trebuchet, ride your mercenaries into the town center fight in the name of the holy land with the new lego crusaids
My first thought on the Dragonborn paladin is Hylian from Zelda Breath of the Wild.
Love it
Yoo never been so early! Good vid bro!
Thanks man ! :)
I think no purple looks good for the byzantines unless ur making an elite guard regiment.
This man is so wholesome we need more people like him
Love the vids
Thanks :)
3:38 I would if everyone would STOP HOARDING THEM.
Can't even get a single paladin without paying a ridiculous price even when they're still technically on shelves
All I see is packs of scanned codes with no restock in sight. Seriously, you might have to ask at stores when they restock and show up right then and there.
Your honestly a pretty trust worty person soformal request for a Loongbrick review, he makes custom medieval bits from metal and plastic and from the insta they look like the best thing since sliced bread but they are very expensive. before I place a large order I just want someone with much experience to at least glance in his direction and give it a thumbs up.
Byzantine use to employ actual vikings forgor the famous name of one company
But a viking helmet would work too
I wish you had made a Cataphractarii for your Byzantine soldiers
You could use a prince of Persia helmet
The crusader minifigs need white Mando capes or even a reproduction kylo Ren cape in white
Mando capes are perfect for them & honestly all medieval figs. I'm planning on ordering a ton of replacement ones from capes4minifigs in a bunch of different colors
Have you looked at the lake town guard helmets from the hobbit sets? Not perfect, and might lean a little more arabic than byzantine, but it is an option
Please stop buying the fright knight legs I need some 😭(joking, keep up the excellent work )
It would be sick to make a big byzantine army and find different ways to make this look more diverse
It'd be really fun to do a larger army of them with some varangians as well
You could use the minifigure series 22 bard torso
Yh and the ottomans
Oh and the normans
meaby piece 88284 Headgear Helmet Persian would work ?
Could you make an army update for all your kingdoms?
I might be wrong, but I think Goldfyre re-uses a ton of his minifigure parts for these videos for new projects eventually, so they don't always can stay intact. The expenses would get out of hand quickly if he didn't.
Have you seen the leaked images of the new wolf pack minifigure
Where did you find the image
@@imperialbricks4217 I looked it up on google
Hey man great figs wanted to ask if there’s anyway I can send you pics of the figures I’ve made from the dragon born ???
Needa make a store.
Sweden when?😮
also keep up the great work
brickwarriors have a byzantine helmet mold
I don’t think Goldfyre uses brick warriors molds.
@@King_Pig69 neither do i
