Greetings all, GOT Mark here. I made this video to share the main pros and cons for upgrading to the Samsung S25 Series as expressed in the comments of viewers expressed in the comment section of a previous video. Please feel free to add your thoughts here. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support! 👍
Now I need to see fold 7, but I don't want to pass up a great trade in value with the s25 ultra. I'm not too big on AI and could careless. But I am a mobile gamer and my s22 ultra acts up when gaming.
Im still using the base Galaxy S20. Battery is shot, so yeah, im going to upgrade. These phones nowadays are so advanced that they last for years. So I'm looking forward to sticking with the S25 for another 4 - 5 years 🤙
@@GOTgoodoldtech-1964yep, i had all the notes from the note 2 on to the 20 ultra (which i still have). Ive had all the S devices pretty mucn as well but if they really mess with the Spen im out this year... never mind recycling a bunch of stuff again
Don't get your hopes high. Chances they will do worst next year. Their golden age ended 7 years ago after the Note 9 and started following Apples' wicked path. I"ve been a long time Galaxy Note user since its 1st generation. Used to like most of ther flagships specially the Note 4 and Note 9 until they started removing essential functions out of profit and control at all cost. Still using my Note 9 8/512 and Note 10 Lite. Both have phone jack and SDcard support. They have more value than all of Samsung flagship phones since 2020. Phone jack is still the best and most reliable. You wont worry of battery specially in long important calls and can still use it while charging your phone if you are running low in battery while in a long call. SDcard is an excellent solution for expanding your personal local storage capacity at a very reasonable price instead for opting for cloud subscription. It is much more secure and relibale most of the time in my opinion specially if you are in an area where there is poor or no coverage for data signal. The only thing you miss out are some gimmicky features that 99% of the users don't really need and wont be using 99% of the time.
Samsung said they won't sell the s25 ultra with 16 GB RAM & 1 TB MEMORY. to the USA ! USA is not a priority even though the USA protects them . Samsung needs to rethink this bad move !😮
I had the oneplus 13. Batterylife is on his best around 5-7 days. On wifi with normal use like much facebook/instagram/x/youtube/email/whatsapp/internet browsing, weather app etc... more light use like that, around 9-10 hours is possible. With the S24 ultra i had around 6u30-7u30, with luck 8 hours on wifi. S23 ultra was better in batterylife then s24 ultra. Oneplus 13 video recording: around 3 hours, then you need an external battery if you are not home, that drains the battery, all phones have that. :). The phone feels good in the hand with a thin cover. Speed: that thing is the fastest i ever used, but, i unlock the develooer settings and 3 times animation off, i hate animations. The phone flies ;). The screen and charging is great. Brightness is also good. The camera's: selfie camera is not good for me, just my opinion, i took many pictures, it is not sharp enough for me. Photos are good, sometimes with hit or miss. Video camera is also good but not so good like the samsung and iPhone and vivo phone. Zoom is also good, but also here, some other phones do (a bit) better. Overall it is a good phone, decent/good and sometimes great in some areas, only the selfie camera is a minus and video recording in the dark with not much light is not great, not by zoom in. I sold my oneplus 13 , gonna buy S25 ultra. Thats is my experience.
@@stuffandthangs3953 Why? I just give my experience, nothing more. I am not you, you can have another opinion then me. :) Like a say: it is overall a good phone in almost everything. Best speed i ever had. Decent video and zoom and so on. But i am honest: it is not gonna be in top 3 best phones off 2025. You gonna be happy with that oneplus 13. But I am very demanding, more than many other people.
@FlubFlubber Interesting, I'm surprised with your findings. I'm finding the OnePlus Open much better than what you described with the 13. I wonder what's different?
Im with s23 U now.. no need for upgrade, only reason i will ever upgrade is when samsung will put 1 inch sensor and don't have any 12 mp cameras anymore. Display, performance, battery and camera is still superB on s23 U.. there is no phone that will beat it like miles ahead..some have better cameras but worse software, some better display but worse cameras ... Etc.. only if Oneplus 14 will add 1inch camera , i will consider it. So my next phone will be Oneplus or Samsung, whoever will upgrade the camera at least on Vivo level
@GOTgoodoldtech-1964 hopefully , i will get what i want next year :D is expected from next gen iphone to get major upgrades after years of sleeping, that's the big part of the reason why samsung is waiting too with big upgrades, to have big competetor whenever apple is ready.
I’m upgrading and coming back after being on an iPhone 13 Promax when I got off my galaxy s20 ultra. (I was bullied into the Apple sphere) and I’m actually excited cause I did try the s23 when that launched and it turned out to be the exact same as my s20 ultra so I stuck with the iPhone for a few more years.
Im keeping my s22U. I've had it since launch. I thought i lost it and turned it into the insurance claim. I got a damn near brand new one. I found my old one has NOT been blocked and changed the batteries. This phone is giving me 6-8 SOT. Im also very upset with Samsung for doing absolutely NOTHING this year. I personally love the boxy look. I feel like the s25U has midrange specs with battery size and charging tech, not to mention display tech & camera sensors.
Got the s24 Ultra and the Pixel 9 Pro XL and I love the feel of the Pixel in hand. There is nothing on s24 Ultra that I feel I am missing out on when using the Pixel. That said I will probably trade s24 Ultra for the S25 Ultra..
The only thing I miss from Samsung when I'm using a pixel is the desktop mode. At least the pixels do screen mirroring now which is a big step up. And I guess thermals and battery life are better but that's only the last two generations. If you go back three generations the s22 ultra was made by Samsung foundry and pretty much had even worse thermals and such and weaker battery life than the tensor from that year in the pixel 6. But of course when I'm using Samsung I miss the Pixel recorder app, and so on. Although what Google just did to Pixel 4a users was terrible. They broke the phone with an update because of some unexplained issue that's rumored to be battery swelling on only 2 days notice. They're offering 50 bucks as a solution but not everyone's eligible and you have to sign up for some ridiculous pioneer third party app to get it
That's a good reason. Just so you know the S25 + has a large battery and nearly all other features as the Ultra with the exception of the S pen and extra cameras and it's $300 less.
@GOTgoodoldtech-1964 Thanks, yeah in terms of spec sheet they are identical in most of the departments, which wasn't the case when I bought S23, earlier the plus was closer to base model, but now it seems to be closer to ultra, will consider both, since in terms of trade in I am almost getting the same value for my old phone which I paid 2 years back after trade in at that time 🙂
I'm on S24 plus. I think that's the best practical phone out there. The size, cameras and everything is where it is supposed to be. Even the sales guy un a flagship samsung physical store agreed.
S24U peak POTY.. so i be sticking with it and get the s26U next.. the s pen bluetooth come in handy when i am alone and I want to take a picture, like on a trip
Upgrading only because I get a use it or lose it benefit thru work up to 1300. Then I’ll probably sell the S25U and get the OnePlus open 2. Can’t wait for it.

People keep going on about the battery and the corners, It all depends what you don and leave open on your phone for the battery to drain quick, and the shape of corners, where to you hold your phone, exactly , in the blasted middle , not on each edge or corners, And a lot of people must have that fatigue as to wanting a new phone every year for small changes and less features. Won't upgrade of but a phone for a long time until, Samsung fixes its own bugs in its updates, on the S24 ULTRA 5G
Me reason to get it is because its been two years since my last upgrade and I've been stuck on my fold 4 whiich lags amd crashes alot. Also camera stinks on the fold 4. (Never upgraded to the fold 5 or 6 because essentially they look identical) I'm also over the fold craze after owning it for two years.. the fold honeymoon is over lol
Keeping my S22 Ultra. Not many improvements from S22 Ultra-S25 Ultra (same 5000 mAh Battery) for me to pay for an upgrade. Curved Corners resembling iPhone. Squared Corner looks more professional 💯
The main reason I am considering upgrading from my S22 Ultra is to take advantage of the Trade In credit...assuming it is good. They other reason is to get a phone with a fresh battery (I hate batteries that are not replaceable what a shit sales tactic).
Too many cons on my personal list. They aren't doing 16gb of RAM outside of Asia, they rounded the corners on their premium device removing its established and well liked visual identity, the battery didn't get any bigger, they're putting all this effort into promoting their AI tools which will require a subscription in a year if you want to keep using them, and outside of the processor there's no significant hardware advances. Just sad.
Have s24u 1tb. Not worth the upgrade. Saving independent of memory size no incentive. Camera no incentive, speed no incentive. S24u is still a great powerhouse and is fast enough for all applications. It also takes fantastic pictures. My wife has s22u, even that phone is still good enough. All this hype about speed is just sales pitch but is no use in normal life usage.
This is an actual upgrade so i say upgrade. The chip inside the phone is an absolute beast, the chip allows WAY more power and battery longevity ect. Trade your older Samsung in and pick up this phone if you are a Fan/ in the market for a Ultra.
@@GOTgoodoldtech-1964 I actually don't own a Samsung and I never have, I've had a few of their tablets but that's about it. I just watch too many phone reviews lol from what I've seen this processor is leaps and bounds above any other Snapdragon processor.
From s23ultra to s25ultra are virtually the same phones a tweek here or there not a big change s24 series getting one ui7 they all have 120h refresh rate but nothing that major is may go to oneplus 13
I think the S21 looks the best. But my current phones are the S8 plus, and the S23U. The S8 plus performs virtually the same as the S23U. My sister uses the iPhone 13, and is constantly having camera issues. Just my POV, but I think the S23 Ultra is by far, Samsungs BEST and (also my POV, based on actual user experience) the S23U is far superior to any iPhone. So with that said, I won't upgrade to the S25, and prolly won't upgrade till Samsung decides to innovate alittle.
@mikekelly702 Wow, the S8, it's been years since I had that phone. I agree, the Ultra series is better than the iPhone Pros in many ways. Thanks for sharing! 👍
At the moment, I will not upgrade because they are too expensive and the hardware is not everything at top-level, like other brands. However, the software is great, giving 7 years of Android updates! Let's see...
If I were buying a Samsung phone I would get a used s23 ultra. Probably less than 50 cents on the dollar within a few months and well the new chips are nice they're still fabricated by TSMC and it's not like they're going to open up any new opportunities for you in terms of playing new games or pushing higher framerates. 8g2 or three we're already more powerful than necessary for an Android OS. I imagine this will change in time as developers try to catch up to the powerful arm-based chips and port more AAA games and the like. But I just think used phones are the way to go I mean you can get a pixel 8 pro for $375 bucks right now. Pixel 9 pro XL I'm sure it's better but it's not $900 better. In terms of the internal specs it's barely detectable.
@GOTgoodoldtech-1964 , Yes indeed. I find it's similar to cars and doors with fobs vs. keys. Some like the fobs wireless entry and still enjoy the physical keys.
I have been a huge samsung fan, to the point ive had pretty much every note since the note 2 and every S device since the S3 plus all the fold since fold 3. That said looks like the first time in over a decade i. Probably not going to upgrade. Just a few reasons: the same rounded corner design as the peasant S devices and every orher android device. This is crap and i dont like it. Same battery size for years Same super slow wired charging speed for years Probably same super slow wireless charging speed for years Same main camera Same pitiful 3x and 5x zoom cameras as how many years Possible downgrade on S pen functionality Pretty sad really, samsung is so comfortable in their complacency. I see the abysmal sales of the Fold 6 didnt teach them anything.

Downgrading the S Pen is massive for me, I'll be avoiding and hoping the S26 brings back the REAL S pen
I get it. I left Samsung when they canceled the Note line and I thought the S-Pen was canceled with it. That was a game changer for me back then.

That makes good financial sense.
I have s22 ultra probably upgrade to s24 ultra since Samsung want add S-Pen function that's a disappointment
Still a rumor, well know for sure on Wednesday. But ya, crazy if it's true.
@GOTgoodoldtech-1964 right if they add i will be trading in s22 ultra for s25 ultra
S23 Ultra to S25 Ultra. I'm all about the AI lifestyle. AI is here to stay, so I might as well get used to it.
@trevorthomas1030 That's a healthy positive take. I'm fine with most of it myself. I figure pick and choose what works for you.👍
@GOTgoodoldtech-1964 , Yes indeed. I find it's similar to cars and doors with fobs vs. keys. Some like the fobs wireless entry and still enjoy the physical keys.
@@trevorthomas1030 🤣👍
@GOTgoodoldtech-1964 , 🤣. Glad I could make you laugh. 😁
I have the S23 Ultra. I'll probably skip on this upgrade.
Makes sense..👍
I have been a huge samsung fan, to the point ive had pretty much every note since the note 2 and every S device since the S3 plus all the fold since fold 3.
That said looks like the first time in over a decade i. Probably not going to upgrade.
Just a few reasons:
the same rounded corner design as the peasant S devices and every orher android device. This is crap and i dont like it.
Same battery size for years
Same super slow wired charging speed for years
Probably same super slow wireless charging speed for years
Same main camera
Same pitiful 3x and 5x zoom cameras as how many years
Possible downgrade on S pen functionality
Pretty sad really, samsung is so comfortable in their complacency. I see the abysmal sales of the Fold 6 didnt teach them anything.
I can certainly understand your disappointment.
What is the reason for video like this just 2 days before s25 release? Looks pathetic anyway...
It's all about information and knowing what to look for after release. People are always curious and like to talk about expectations.
The s25 ultra is gonna blow evey other phone out the water
The speed and performance will. In daily use, we may not feel the difference.
S21 ro the s25 is all the same damn phone. There absolutely 0 difference in any of them
That is so true. Samsung should do better.
Meh. 😂
👍
Not worth upgrade specially s pen without Bluetooth and same battery same charger same screen panel I keep my S24U until s26U thanks for the video
That is very sensible. Thank you for sharing. 👍
Is the screen size 6.9?
Yes, the screen is rumored to be 6.9mm diagonal.
