Happy to see you happy and healthy! I've got a minor issue at the moment that causes enough pain (randomly due to spasms) which makes me break into a tourettes tantrum for a few seconds, but working to get that under control. I can imagine the pain you were in you could easily relate to the tourettes. (In language that is.)
The shingles were very painful but hernia & bowel combo was new levels, there was no doing anything, I'd be near instantly vomiting and buckled over, couldnt move for days. ugh Hope you get yours sorted mate, best of luck, Cheers!

Great to see your feeling better, I use a pulley system for lifting my grain basket out of the G40. Got it from miter 10 it called tie boss just added a small bracket to the roof trusses works great.
We are renting and cant do stuff like that, well, the wife would get shitty lol and especially hard to put up until I'm better anyway. Thanks for the tips though, cheers mate!

Good for you Mr Gash (no pun intended). I had a cancer operation 16 years ago that left me with no extreme lower bowel. Year off work, but after all was clear I carried on brewing and drinking most of it, but decided about 8 months ago to slow right down and now might even stop and sell my stuff. Had a good run and now gymn and swim has taken over. Still have a beer though. Good luck and keep on keeping on. Go with that low carb. whole food only and restricted time eating and loose even more weight. Cheers. I'm 74yrs.
Glad you kicked the cancer mate! Bowels.. I have crohns too so Im very lucky thats been in remission and it doesnt seem to have flared up with the hernia etc which is good! Do what you need mate, take care!

I went straight on the dry beers after being diagnosed with diabetes, still monitor the sugars when I have a few. I do my best to brew drier, especially the meads, that way I can knock back a few and not worry so much.
I have a couple of dry beers, not super dries at home, sometimes I dont mind a brut ipa lol Since losing the weight I cant drink pints and pints of anything these days, it smashes me hahaha Most of my ipas and lagers are quite low in FG anyway, the way I like them! Quality over quantity! and a big IPA to finish things off hahaha I hope yours is in control as much as it can be, Cheers!

Good to hear youre on the mend and got the diabetes under control, can be very difficult to reduce carbs intake.
I find ipa drive sugar levels lower and lagers drive them up, can't really work out why.

Sorry to hear about your health setback, shingles are a proper C, I had my shot as in Canada there is no cost if you're 50, I wouldn't wish them on anyone. Always enjoyed your vids and brewed my first beer years ago based on a mini mash for a Coopers Pale I believe, having said that take care of the ole body as at this point in time we're only given the one...Cheers.

One question, I thought it was not legal to distill without a licence? If you're able to put it up publicly that you're distilling is it because you have a licence or because it's highly unlikely that you'll be penalised for it?

Yeah its bloody awful, I knew it was bad, but it wasn't what I expected thats for sure! The time in hospital made it kind of come back, luckily since I've been out its been ok. Cheers!
Im Type 2 and struggle to drink normal beer so only drink Ultra low carb and been brewing ultra
but very hard to brew a balanced malt/hop brew......look after yourself......brew ultra Beers.......
I brew a brut now and then, but luckily my body is handling a normal lager and ale at least for now! My sugars don't rise for them. My Mexicans and lagers go down too 1.006-7 so fairly low anyway. Though one day I may have too. Thank god for Bruts lol
Only trouble with Bruts is they are high in booze. But since I'm not drinking everyday it's ok
