Good review. I was late to the party with Sauvage fragrances. I avoided them due to their popularity. However, I finally caved in and bought a 60ml bottle of parfum that was on offer. It’s so good. When I sampled Elixir last week (on a testing strip in a store) I thought it was too much. I treated myself to a bottle anyway. The opening notes on my skin are AWESOME…wow!! The dry down aroma is so good. I get a whiff of fragrance every now and then. It’s my new favourite cologne. 2 sprays are enough for me, though.
Because of the lavender, I spray on pillow to help me sleep & lasts for days as you said in your review. It's definitly a winter fragrance ( some say it smells like Christmas).

I bought it. I LOVE it. I sprayed half a spray on my wrist at Ulta. 30 minutes later I walked into a store. From 10 feet away the clerk said, what are you wearing? It smells good and damn it's strong. I laughed, no joke, 1/2 a spray. The clerk knew his fragrances too so we struck up a conversation, he said he was going to go to Ulta down the street and try it. It's REALLY strong and concentrated. I can't wait for Curly to try 22 sprays of this, someone will get hurt.
Wore to work and a coworker told me a woman was going up to everyone asking who smells so good. My coworkers said it’s always the tall guy and he always smells so good…may have to get a back up bc I’m really bonding with it
My nose instantly loved this one, Ross. It's quite a dramatic departure from the rest of the line scent-wise, I get it, but I'm positive that many people would've moaned and complained if it was just a more concentrated version of the existing ones in the line. Guess you can't please everybody, can you? lol

I'm gonna have to check out this release. I sampled the OG Sauvage a while back and was not a fan. It was too spicy and loud for me. Maybe it was the initial smell on paper that I didn't like. I am gonna try it on skin and see how it evolves throughout the day
I went on the Sauvage Elixir Fragrantica page and the current top comparisons for it, outside of its own line, are Guy Laroche 'Drakkar Noir', Initio 'Oud for Greatness', and PDM 'Layton Exclusif'. That definitely makes it sound like something I'd enjoy, but I've been looking around and haven't seen it available for sampling at any of my local fragrance stores. This shit is relatively expensive too compared to most designer fragrance that aren't private lines. I'm currently waiting to see Tom Ford's 'Ebene Fume' though, one of the few designer releases intriguing me.

Normally I am not a big lavender fan cuz it reminds me of the smell of dryer sheets, but elixir smells so good it may make me rethink my stance on that particular note. So far this and CH bad boy le parfum are my top designer fragrances of this year
I blind brought this directly from Dior. I favor cheapies. However this is delightful. Absolutely worth the price. This is almost niche. Sauvage Elixir is a 9.5. It is versatile high quality and dress up level for the masses.
I think Elixir is incredible but I probably wouldn’t reach for it as often as the other three since I live in Texas. It reminds me of Thanksgiving and Christmas time. Candles, fireplace, coffee and desserts. One spray really is enough.
Wore this last night when I say there were heads turning and compliments all night this is the best Dior savauge man this stuff smells amazing and the longevity and performance is a beast wore this at work and it last my whole 9 hour shift I woke up the next morning after a shower and still smelled it a little and I'm talking about I scrubbed myself really good it's worth the money besides the bottle size this was all from a sample I went str8 to dillards when they opened had to get me a bottle
Just picked it up today after watching you and Ashton. So far I love it. Tested it in Macy's. Walked around the mall for a 2 hrs and it kept getting better in my skin. Can't wait to see what it does in the cool weather.
It's spicy on me but I think it smells a lil bubble gummy in the dry down and not so spicy then hours later I smell a lil spice then other times bubble gummy. I love every bit of it too. It's not an invictus bubble gummy smell either more of a sauvage EDT bubble gum if that makes sense. Definitely my new favorite!
Well TLTG I have a 3.4 oz of the edt and 200 oz of the edp no parfum version. Should I jump too elixir 🤷🏽♂️ I have too. But have you try phantom by paco rabbane yet ?
Sooo about this scent... The perfume sales lady spray it 3 times on my forearms. I smelled on my skin and off the atomizer and I wasn't into it but.... here comes the big but.... afterwards I went to the Barnes and nobles in the mall to get a coffee and the barista was like "Wow, you smell really good". That compliment sealed the deal for me as far as this being amazing. Give it some time, guys. Because in the air this smells amazing to people. I will definitely save some money to get this fragrance. Anyways, thanks for your in depth review, Ross.
I'm no Sauvage fan, I owned none until I went toe the store and saw it for sale $136!!! I bought it blind and loved it. Went for an Ale and the bartender left me a little Panty Puddle. This juice is fire!
So...in the deep dry down, I absolutely get a bit of Office for Men. Don't know if it's the Ambrox? I've read folks saying they get a bit of Mont Blanc Explorer - again...deep dry down. I totally get it. I could still smell the damm thing after a shower. It's indeed a laster.
Got a sample, this stuff is strong and projects like wildfire. The opening is alright..doesn't catch too much of my attention but when the dry down comes is where it shines. Definately beast mode.
Great review as always👌 but Elixir is not for me. I have all the variations, and like them all, but Elixir doesn’t sit right with me. Smells way to old and spicy. Even the girls at the store warned me when I bought it, saying they didn’t like it. Well can’t like them all🤷♂️
Good advice Ross! Everyone should always be their OWN judge! People kill me taking the opinions of people, & rolling with it, instead of testing it out for themselves! I heard some fragrance reviewers HATE on this stuff, & I immediately said to myself, "I'm picking it up" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Then, I begin to hear people singing it's praises! So, that was pretty funny, as I recall telling people to try it for themselves!
This is the only Sauvage in my collection and I get great performance from this as well. Back up bottle worthy. It will get watered down in a few years.

Tested this at the store and wasn’t a huge fan of the opening but the wafts I was getting from my hand THROUGH my mask hours later were really nice I’ll definitely be grabbing this one
Yep, it's a killer. I saw a guy say "this only lasts an hour and it's gone" 😳 I questioned if he was trying the correct one, because this is so strong and long lasting that there's no way that can be true for anyone.
Yea I couldn't smell it one night after wearing it at all. So I sprayed one on me to check it out and couldn't smell a damn thing. I thought ok it's either covid or my nose went blind. Sure enough the next day wearing it I smelled it just fine. So yea you're nose gets blind quickly, don't spray the crap out of it cuz everyone else can still smell it just fine. After 6 hours I left the counter at 711 and I got to the door the lady next in line yelled omg you smell nice! Another lady walking a good 100 feet behind caught up and told me how great I smelled. Said it was like the wind smelled really good lol!

This is a scent that older guys will love..... but the ladies will not. I personally like it. Now take this and have a few ladies smell it vs any sweet invictus type of scent and watch them all pick the sweet scents. Reviewers will love this one. It's somewhat unique and thats nice for a collector.

Wanted to get this for my 17 yr old boy..but hes became a bit of a snob since getting his nose on my fancy gourmands...he would never appreciate these more expensive barber type scents anymore. He started out with that but now hes into mancera and other niche gourmands. He was using my expensive perfumes. So I bought him a big bottle of Rose's vanille and some higher end middle eastern perfumes to start with for xmas. And it was money well spent bc he loves them and isn't using mine anymore. But dior was on my radar..I didn't care for it..

Sampled the others, but don't really care for the EDT, and wasn't taken enough by the EDP/Parfum to get a bottle. I sprayed the sample I got from eBay, and was on the Dior website nearly straight away. Love this fragrance!
I sampled it a couple of days ago at Ulta. It's overwhelming to me. Way strong off the first spray. The dry down is nice though. I sprayed a test strip three days ago and I can still smell it on the strip today. It's a beast, but the opening is really spicy and slightly sweet. Too strong for me. If the price comes down, it may be worth it.
I agree with you quite well, Ross. I was under the same train of thought: "ANOTHER SAUVAGE?!!! Whyyyyyy? Cash grab!" And then I started hearing mixed opinions with some people saying it's amazing, others saying that it's "okay". Plus, after trying soooooo many Sauvage like scents (EDT, EDP, Rossa Carbon, Armaf Ventana, Alexandria's Ete Sauvage), I wanted nothing to do with that overloaded scent DNA. But then I got a sample and this is not that DNA at all. It is almost, dare I say, a spicy, gourmand-like fragrance...like a spiced cookie of sorts starting off. A decent amount of the Sauvage DNA does come out on drydown though, but you have to really detect it. But yeah, this is an amazing release and like you said, it lasts for an ETERNITY. Part of my clothes smelled like Elixir for like two days, not joking. Great review man!
Ross just got Elixir in the mail and i love it. It’s a very masculine fragrance, and that’s what i like. That being said i would only go two sprays with this bad boy. That’s how strong it is on me. Out of the Sauvage family i would take this and the EDT and forget the other one’s.

Wearing it for 1st time today. I don't get any of the sauvage dna. I get a sweet burnt woods nuance in the background. Nice frag for sure.

Performance is just perfect. Not loud for too too long but like you said, your own perfect bubble that isn’t too close to skin. Genius performance.

I feel when it’s indented like that it takes more space to have more fragrance in it !
Perhaps. That's why looking at the actual ounces is important. They can't lie on the actual quantity. Even if the visual perception is deceptive.

I’ve seen elixir advertised as edc. Are there two concentrations of Sauvage elixir? AFAIK edc stands for eau de cologne which is very weak

This is a scent that older guys will love..... but the ladies will not. I personally like it. Now take this and have a few ladies smell it vs any sweet invictus type of scent and watch them all pick the sweet scents. Reviewers will love this one. It's somewhat unique and thats nice for a collector.
I've gotten more ladies compliments with this and they all say they love it
@@dannysllrs that’s great to hear Danny. I’m holding off a bit until I can see some sampling of ladies. I personally love spicey fragrances but the ladies seem to prefer the sweet. Sweet gives me a headache.
Wanted to get this for my 17 yr old boy..but hes became a bit of a snob since getting his nose on my fancy gourmands...he would never appreciate these more expensive barber type scents anymore. He started out with that but now hes into mancera and other niche gourmands. He was using my expensive perfumes. So I bought him a big bottle of Rose's vanille and some higher end middle eastern perfumes to start with for xmas. And it was money well spent bc he loves them and isn't using mine anymore. But dior was on my radar..I didn't care for it..

Not really. It's more Aromatic, Spicy, Woody. I don't get br540

Sampled the others, but don't really care for the EDT, and wasn't taken enough by the EDP/Parfum to get a bottle.
I sprayed the sample I got from eBay, and was on the Dior website nearly straight away. Love this fragrance!
I sampled it a couple of days ago at Ulta. It's overwhelming to me. Way strong off the first spray. The dry down is nice though. I sprayed a test strip three days ago and I can still smell it on the strip today. It's a beast, but the opening is really spicy and slightly sweet. Too strong for me. If the price comes down, it may be worth it.

Elixir ain't nothing but Drakkar Nior mix with 2 or 5% of sauvage EDT that's what I get from it
I agree with you quite well, Ross. I was under the same train of thought: "ANOTHER SAUVAGE?!!! Whyyyyyy? Cash grab!" And then I started hearing mixed opinions with some people saying it's amazing, others saying that it's "okay". Plus, after trying soooooo many Sauvage like scents (EDT, EDP, Rossa Carbon, Armaf Ventana, Alexandria's Ete Sauvage), I wanted nothing to do with that overloaded scent DNA. But then I got a sample and this is not that DNA at all. It is almost, dare I say, a spicy, gourmand-like fragrance...like a spiced cookie of sorts starting off. A decent amount of the Sauvage DNA does come out on drydown though, but you have to really detect it. But yeah, this is an amazing release and like you said, it lasts for an ETERNITY. Part of my clothes smelled like Elixir for like two days, not joking. Great review man!
This is going to be amazing in the winter… I agree with Jeremy, to me I get sauvage + Bac 540… Anyone agree with me?
Got my hands on a sample and I was able to pick up a bottle for $130 shipped. I'm not a fan of the EDT. I have the EDP, but I like Elixir a lot more.
Ross just got Elixir in the mail and i love it. It’s a very masculine fragrance, and that’s what i like. That being said i would only go two sprays with this bad boy. That’s how strong it is on me. Out of the Sauvage family i would take this and the EDT and forget the other one’s.
I hear flanker a lot. Is that when then make a new Fragrance ?
