Dior Sauvage Parfum is one of the few fragrances I can still smell 7 hours later on my skin
I have the EDT and EDP. Haven't pulled the trigger on the Parfum. I get more compliments from the EDP.

I totally agree with you that the Parfum is the best smelling version even though I would suggest the EDP to most people. The performance of the Parfum is decent for me. Even when I can't smell it anymore I've been told I leave a scent trail as I move around.

I love the EDP. Ridiculous performance, more nuanced than the EDT. A compliment magnet.
I have the EDP from 2018 that my wife bought me and I wore to our wedding. It's sentimental to me. So to save the juice I recently picked up a 200ml of the EDT. I got the EDT because 1 - I live in FL and the EDT probably works better in the daytime heat than the EDP and 2 - just in case they do reformulate it, I'm good for life. I do personally like the EDP the best. Great video as always!

I am a younger guy and I tend to like the more synthetic, compliment getters. I think that in the fragrance community we lock ourselves in bubble, then most people who would smell the fragrances in the public are none the wiser to all this debate. This stuff just works
Tested all of them thoroughly for a few months, I ended up buying a 200 ml bottle of the EDP. I wasn't a fan of the EDT but the EDP grew up on me, in such a way that I regard it to be my favorite oriental fougere. It's right there with me and not ahead of me. Bold, confident and alluring. The parfum was a disappointment, even more since Dior parfum concentration fragrances are synonyms to masterpieces.
Hey you seem to be familiar with Sauvage. I have a question, I know the EDT is good for Summer weather/heat. But would you say the EDP is appropriate, just as well?
@@nicholasramnauth9545EDP is sweeter with the vanilla and some added spice from nutmeg, overall it’s geared more towards cooler weather.
Great review! So I'm 48yo. Sampled the Sauvage EDT & EDP. I went with the EDT because the EDP reminded me of Acqua di Gio profumo because of the incense note and I already own that one.

Great video Ross! I’m not a Sauvage hater. I don’t really hate in any fragrances because of how subjective scent is. I have gotten my nose on the Sauvage line, and liked them (especially that EDP), but not enough to buy a bottle. Every time I smell it on someone though, it smells really good. Anyway, be well Man!
I have all 3 and I agree, Parfum smells the best. But somehow I still prefer the EDP as it performs a bit better than Parfum
Thank you for this awesome review! I know I’m late to the party, but “don’t knock it till you try it” are word of wisdom when it comes to fragrances. I was going to blind buy the EDP because I heard the Parfum was disappointing, BUT I decided to test out the EDP vs the Parfum and wouldn’t you know it, the EDP was gone after about 5 hours but the Parfum was still there and projecting even after I showered on MY skin. I would definitely suggest to test fragrances first because you never know.

Great video! I just bought the EDT tonight 👌 I think parfum is the best but it’s also $50 more expensive then the EDT in Canada
EDT for me. That initial burst....it’s insane the compliments it pulls. EDP might technically be the better all around better rounded fragrance, but EDT first burst.....I enjoy it the best. Strangely for such a string opener, the P and EDP both last much longer on me but I’ll sacrifice that for that opener I love

liked this video, I've only tried the EDP and I liked it but...wanted to try the Parfum..may sample at Dilliards or Macy's...the EDT ive sampled at Dilliards...didn't particuarly like it. Keep up the great videos

Just bought the parfum version I've got late 2019 version of the edt and that is a beast!
Let's just be honest with ourselves , sauvage is an awesome scent .. yes it's overplayed now but that doesn't change the fact that it's a compliment driven scents and you won't fail to ever get noticed with any version of the scent .. personally I have the parfum version and I enjoy it and it still works magic for me !!

I finally pulled the trigger on Sauvage after 2 years collecting . Funny my wife loved Sauvage on those sniff cards from Department Store over BDC . I always liked BDC . Whenever we actually went to a counter together she would also picked the Sauvage . So after your ultimate Discounter / Online buying video , I finally ordered from Kingdom Fragrances.
I ordered Sauvage Edp & PDM Galloway .
I do have Prada LRC so the EDP of Sauvage makes sense .

The only reason some people hate it because actually they have and love it, but since it becomes very popular, they don't smell unique anymore since everybode smells like them.
With that mentality everyone is going to smell like everyone wearing what smells gd..be yourself wear what you love period!

I am a big believer in the EDT, not that I dislike the others. I work 12 hr shifts & it just goes & goes for me. Just bought a new 200ml bottle, same great Sauvage as always.
I got my hands on Sauvage EDP, but the freshness does not last long, and I am getting this metallic dry down vibe. Doe the Parfum version have a metallic smell as well?

You need to try them to see which you like. It's not up to me for you to like a fragrance. It's up to you lol

I agree the EDP is on point being in the middle which I like. However, the Parfum is definitely smooth.

I'm finally going to try Sauvage...I live where it is hot, so it's between the EDT and EDP for me. The EDT everyone describes as being more youthful, the loudest and rough, so I think I will go with the EDP.

Greetings from west coast Canada brother! appreciate the thorough review. Both me and my dad prefer the original EDT as it best captures the essence of the "Johnny Depp" fragrance haha. Have you had a chance to smell the 2020 EDT batches? Way more toned down vs the previous 2015-2017 batches, less peppery feels like sauvage EDT became luna rossa carbon!

I’m not in the “hate” crowd for Sauvage, it just doesn’t smell good off my skin. Like spicy, peppery shower gel. However, Parfum is definitely my favorite of the line, too. Way more depth to it than EDT.

What batch do you have bro? Apparently it got reformulated in 2020 and they added ISO something or other and made it stronger.

I own both the EDT and EDP and personaly the EDP is better. The EDT is late 2019 batch, the EDP is early 2020 batch. The EDT last around 7 hours of good projection, but the EDP last 10+ hours. I would recommend the EDP since the performance is just groundbreaking.

I don't hate Sauvage. I just don't like the blue fragrance DNA. YSL Y EDP is the only one I'm 'okay' with at the moment. In all honesty I haven't tried the Sauvage Parfum yet, but I'm staying far away from blind-buying any blue fragrance.
my uncle gifted me a bottle of edp noticing I appreciated it more than he gave me originally (bvlgari extreme, which I owned years before when I graduated).. i tried the scent thru a decanter and the scent was ‘okay’ but when it started wafting while I was driving at the end of the day.. I just loved how I smelled even though I would normally expect to smell eeky-the sauvage edp ‘used’ my sweat and transformed it into something sexyish. that’s how I will put it-the more I sweat, the better if I have sauvage on
I may not consider edt since I was in this jampacked conference and a guy apparently doused himself with what could be the edt.. I didnt like it one bit, it’s just loud cloying sauvage, without depth of the one I was given. I might test the parfum if I want a next bottle per your recommendation. enjoyed this video btw ❤

I have the EDT and EDP but not yet the Parfum.
I tried on Elixir at the mall and it was AMAZING. Love it, but I decided to go with an everyday one instead. I bought EDT after sampling it and the EDP. First day wearing EDT the compliments were insane. I got told I smelled amazing and someone pulled me in to actually get a good whiff. I was in shock in the best way possible. EDT imo is the best of the 3. And Elixir is for special occasions

I smelled all 3 before buying and the parfum smelled best, edt and edp do have better projection but the scent matters to me more than performance, wish it would perform better but it is what it is
I still go to the OG. I use it all day in work and gets more compliments. EDT remains the first choice.

I finally bought the EDP a couple weeks back. For someone who hated on it for so long, I sure have been wearing it an awful lot. Lol.. It's that Kool aid powder note you get when you sniff it. It's cool.

anyone who like sauvage parfum should just get BDC edp or parfum , both are much better varioton on that theme you are going for.
the whole point of sauvage is that brash and juvenile quality of the edt, yes the edp is an improvement in that it made sauvage more night-time appropriate and more office-appropriate simultaneously but kept the heart of the original/ the concept of the line, which is absent in later iterations , and at that point just go with another line , like BDC etc
I've got both Sauvage Parfum and BDC Parfum and I agree to some extent but hear me out. I use Sauvage when Im feeling a little badboy, edgy but still classy and I'll use BDC for a safe classy or more warm comforting date smell. I like both for their own uses.
How would you categorize these based on their appropriateness for each season?
EDT - scorching heat of the summers but good for all and any, tbh
EDP - all seasons subject to the number of sprays
Parfum - fall and winter
Elixir - fall and winter, all seasons subject to number of sprays
But again, wear what you like whenever! Cheers!
What’s funny to me is that when guys say that after the spray the Parfum version of it on their skin, it quickly disappears. That’s not the case for me. I sprayed all 3 samples of the EDT, EDP and Parfum. I excluded Elixir as I already own a 60 ml bottle of it. Since they’re samples and their sprayers aren’t the same as the real bottle, obviously the performance won’t be as good. They all smell great, but I’d say the EDP is the happy medium like you said. To me, it’s a better version of the EDP. But I do love the smell of the Parfum. It’s a nice, creamy, orange opening with a dry down of Sandalwood and Vanilla. There is a slight powdery note to it. But I mainly get vanilla and sandalwood. People have said that the Parfum has been reformulated. So hopefully the performance has increased a bit. Even tho for me my skin chemistry is great. So it shouldn’t matter either way. But I’m gonna go with the EDP. As it’s more of an everyday type of fragrance while the Parfum is more for a Date. Elixir is also for a Date, if you’re trying to be bold and make a statement that is. Or for when you’re just going out at night and there’s a cool breeze.
My 200ml edt of sauvage doesn’t fill a room and does not last long it’s a September 2020 batch 0J03
Got edp and am 50 50 with it sometimes i like then other times i hate it. Just tried this and am trying to go noseblind with it but i can still smell it 3.5 hours later more a skin scent now, and thats how i like my smellies. Its ok but the dry down smells a bit like boss magnetic?

I have Prada Luna Rossa Carbon, Sauvage EdP, Sauvage Parfum & Sauvage Elixir. All of them have different smells and unique qualities. Luna Rossa Carbon is like the office friendly version you wanna wear at work so you don't choke the room with the strength of the Elixir or EdP. The EdP for me is the daytime anywhere go-to....just not to work. Parfum is a sweeter less spicy more intimate kind of aroma but can be wore anywhere as well. It's 1 my fiance always notices and gravitates to me when wearing. Elixir is loud and attention grabbing. You can walk into a room and if someone is wearing it you will smell it upon entry. It's powerful and very attractive for both genders. Men love the way they smell wearing this and it has a self confidence boosting quality to it. Women between 20 - 50 love the smell of Elixir on a man. All of the Sauvage line is amazing, but I still won't purchase the EdT due to the fact my Luna Rossa Carbon is a better version. EdP is the best to buy if you only buy 1 Sauvage. Can't go wrong with it. I also suggest sampling the Parfum & Elixir before you pull the trigger. I don't agree with TLTG about it being redundant to own all 3. EdP, Parfum & Elixir all smell amazing, have unique aromas to themselves and yet still share the Sauvage dna. Those 3 serve different times and purposes but all 3 are worth owning. Don't buy the EdT!

Parfum is the best. As is BdC. I came to love parfums of most frags, just like you. Why? Because the older I get, I do t like loud frags that project and kick everyone in the head for hours. Parfums tend to stay on me 12 hours... with subtle projection. I think this is how it should be. When ppl move closer to you, when you move... they will feel this smell that is gentle and nice and subtle. This is what I came to like more than filling the entire room.
I'll always say Parfum first, EDT second and throw away the EDP, it was a cash grab IMHO

I got Dior sauvage EDT on 2-2-21 and it is weak 1 hour projection and dead within 4. I spray on shirt and skin and still weak. Smells like an actual barbershop 💈

@@C6Family I agree with you man. I got both the edt and the edp at the end of 2020 and my edp outperforms my edt in any way possible. I keep hearing how strong, piercing, and metallic the edt is. I only get that in the opening, after it dies down it’s much softer and more sensual than the edp.
The EDP also won a FIFI btw.
Not sure how people hate the Parfum. I've only not smelled the EDT, oddly, and the Parfum is my favorite for sure, but very close to the EDP.
I don't understand the hate on the Parfum. I got it, and I have had a single spray on my arm for almost 5 hours right now, and its projecting off of my arm, like its on my neck and chest. The EDP and Parfum to me, perform identically almost, the only real difference is that the Parfum seems to have more depth to it, and it certainly isn't for everyone. But in terms of its performance, I can attest that it is no different at least for me performance wise.

I can't imagine how someone could hate something so pleasant. It checks every box for me and my taste. Everyone saying it smells generic and whatnot, I don't get that. When I sniffed it for the first time I initially was brought to a ton of different scents, but nothing that I thought was generic by any means.
