Thanks for these first thoughts of yours. I’ll surely will get it when released. 👍👍
Can’t wait to try , thanks Sebastien
Wow Sebastian... you really beat most reviewers on this one. Good job. Thanks for the review, I'm looking forward to it.
Would you say this could be layered with the Parfum?
I’m so excited about this. Love all the three previous versions.
4 versions , you left cool spray out
Hope you've gotten some cause its amazing!!
HIIIIIIIIIIIIII SEBASTIAN! hope you are having a great day. love your vids!
Thank you! :)
Will this be the first 'elixer' concentration for the 'general consumer'? or will this be only on the Dior website and perhaps some luxury retailers (Sephora, Harrods, etc)?
A lot of Le Parfum and Parfum versions of designer fragrances have been coming out in the last 2 years and I wonder if more elixers will be coming out if this is a success. I'd love to see Armani Code Elixer, Le Male Elixer, Y Elixer, etc.
I don't like Sauvage but this one is just addictive. Wait a few hours and it shows its own character. I don't want to spend £112 but I feel that won't be able to resist.
Spray some on a tester and leave 1-2 metres away from your bed then let the magic happen.
Agree 100%!!!
This cologne is absolutely top notch. My new favorite
It makes sense that you're from the music industry.🎶 Your theme music is always cool.I want to try this elixir. I'm very excited about it.
I just tried this! I love it! Very strong for me and I think it’s the best Sauvage up to date. It dosen’t have Cedarwood it has Sandalwood and it dosent have Bergamot it has Grapefruit instead! You were right on the Cinnamon, Lavender, Nutmeg and Cardamom. Also in the dry down it has Licorice, Amber, Patchouli and Haitian Vetiver and no leather note either
I brought home a sample on a test strip 4 days ago it still pushing from the paper. Best sauvage yet. This is doir !!!
What are the disadvantages reviewing perfume based on a sample?
Great video Sebastian, I completely agree on your opinion of fragrance samples. I have collected many samples over the years, but I've found them only useful for getting an idea of what a fragrance smells like, not performance. Samples almost always have terrible performance (Both longevity and projection) on me, never as good as the real bottle.
I also think it'd be great if they released a Dior Homme Elixir, provided of course that it was based on the original/parfum version with the iris note. The new 2021 version isn't terrible, but it definitely is nowhere near as good.
Great first impression and I enjoyed it and I can't wait to see the full review when you test it out and have a blessed day
Yeay i waited for your opinion for sauvage elixire.
Is there a fragrance has similar smell like Sauvage and Tobacco smoked mixed smell?
Please have a full review for Penhaligon Endymion Concentre. Thank you
Nice vid,, aroma from heaven
I don’t like the Sauvage Par fume either, but I love the Elixir. I’m surprised you didn’t like it. But great review!
“Gents! We who dropped Fahrenheit into the vat?!?!
Wait... waittt... here rises from the primordial soup... ELIXIR”
First thing I thought too. Hahaha
😂😹😂
Which Dior parfum is your favorite?…and 2nd question, do u have a video on the Dior 2020 , i couldnt find it :(
I have a 2020 video yes. On the channel. I love Dior Homme Parfum!
I tried it yesterday. I haven't cared much for the previous Savauge releases, but I DO like this one. My wife loved it! I will pre-order today.
I can send to you...
You took the words out of my mouth - I was not very fond of the previous Savage releases either, but the new Sauvage Elixir is just amazing!!
Full review coming?
not very excited about this. but i'll try when i have a chance
I normally prefer niche perfume but I’ve just bought this one for myself - it seems to be fine for unisex? I hope so because I’m going to wear it! I didn’t care for the regular Sauvage - but this one struck me - a much better lavender than Mon Geurlain. I feel like there is leather or suede in there as well
This release is going to be perfect for me in my countries humid hot temps.
I'm in Thailand. Its beast mode. Heats up in the sun and its freshness kicks up. Awesome.
I tested it at Ulta & loved it. I got it for my boyfriend’s birthday. If he doesn’t like it I’m using it & layering it with some of my personal Diors. Does the Parfum have vanilla? Thank you
I think there's some vanilla in it yes.
Trust me, there is Ambroxan in Elixir and you missed the licorice.
The Ambroxan is there at the dry down. After a few hours it’s prominent and you get the Sauvage DNA.
Just got it today from Nordstorm, and this is way more unique than all other sauvage drops, this is unique, my opinion because I never bought any of the other versions; this version is my pick.
Can you please review Hugo boss dark blue. I'm a big fan of yours and I would love to know what you think about it
Lol
Lmao garbage scent
Thanks :)
Where did you get the sample?!
he is a youtuber, so definitely companies reach out to them for promoting products hence these companies send them early access priveleges
Does anyone smell 02 L'Air du Desert Marocain by Tauer? Coworker wore this and it had longevity but to me it smelled like L'Air du Desert Marocain with some oud.
I tried it this week. I'm not a fan. It's concentrated and it last very long (12h on my skin). I also blind bought Bentley for men intense this week but I don't like it. They have a similar vibe . Maybe gasoline / leather. Not mass appealing
Yesterday, I bought a new bottle of perfume (not going to name drop here) and with it, the woman gave me a couple of samples and one of them was the new Dior Sauvage Elixir. I loved it instantly and I´m going out to buy it today. I think it will be my new favorite perfume as it smells amazing!
You're not helping me!! Just got more excited about this release. Thanks a lot. 🤣🤣🤣
Very interesting
Thank you
This is going to either be really good or really bad. But I want something new from Dior. No more Sauvage.
You bring the most cutting edge review. I don't think I have heard anything about it from other reviewers. Have you heard of oud pur by lvmh? And agreed a dior homme elixir would just best thing to bring out even if it would be limited item
Pur Oud is one I haven't been able to get here. I'll ask my LV SA again about it.
@@ThePerfumeGuy I'm trying to get my hands on one from Europe. I don't think they are bringing it to u.s from what I have ascertained
I just asked my LV SA and she has no idea. She will investigate apparently. :)
@@ThePerfumeGuy that will be great if they can even get few bottles state side
Sebastian, thank you for being so quick with this Sauvage Elixir review! Be honest, please - is it worth the price tag?
Can’t wait to try hope it’s better than the parfum edt/EDP are really pleasing
I sold my Sauvage EDT bottle and purchased the parfum version. Oh yeah, I love it.
We need Dior Homme Elixir.
And definitely NOT Dior Homme 2020 Elixir.
@@techforever1970 Dior Homme 2020 is a masterpiece
@@michaelmcdonald9847 yeah technically but it's so boring scent wise
@@michaelmcdonald9847 don’t think it could exactly be considered a masterpiece at this point 😂 it’s good at best, mass appealing woods
@@jacksonbelch9311 It’s a masterpiece for sure. Just because something is mass-appealing doesn’t mean it’s not a masterpiece.
Is this edition supposed to be better performance than the Parfum edition ?
It’s a lot oilier that’s for sure! Smell wise it got boring after the dry down. Will test from bottle as well once it’s launched. 😀
I'm obsessed with Sauvage EDP...
Which batch do you have?
edt is king
@@jwanilpatel3223 which batch u hv?
Pls give some comments about YSL Y perfume… it’s really outstanding! thx heaps!
yes it Is
Smells of onion rings
The cinnamon is everything. I think it’s a masterpiece
Where is the new Miss Dior?! I oiled t find it on your channel 😥😭 I was heartbroken when they stopped making the Miss Dior Cherie and I am REALLY hoping it’s the same. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Here I just aired the video: ua-cam.com/video/1CapNwihRNg/v-deo.html
Would you say the gasoline note is also present in Dior Fahrenheit or Grey Flannel ?
No it’s more of a leather gasoline vibe at the beginning it goes away really quickly they are not at all similar!
@@ThePerfumeGuy Thanks Sebastian.
@@ThePerfumeGuy Sorry, just asking.
No worries!! This is first impressions via a sample. So looking forward to the actual bottle!! 😀
No Ambroxan then it’s not worth checking out. I want an Ambroxan high.
Whoa instant want...
Sebastian, my fellow Lebanese,.what does this smell like? Paint me an olfactory picture. What's it similar to?
Music industry? What did you do? I play drums
The Elixir is so so so different
Dior: “Let’s mix Sauvage and Fahrenheit, maybe throw in a note or 2.” As I wait for ombré leather Parfum.
Top note: Fahrenheit
Mid and base: sauvage parfum + Dior Homme 2020.
That's what I think about while watching this first impression.
That’s a cop because I love sauvage and Fahrenheit
@@Dylant08
Sounds like something I need to pick up then!
The EDT already reminded me of Fahrenheit a bit. There is a note that appears in the air that reminds me of it.
@@recepuenel1 they definitely were created in the same Spirit for sure. I thought I was the only one who noticed a similarity. Sauvage was more than just an answer to Creed Aventus and Bleu de Chanel. It was a modern Fahrenheit.
A gasoline aspect? I wonder if it goes in the direction of Fahrenheit. Curious about it for sure specially after hearing that.
No it's like a oily gasoline dirty thing up top. I thought about it and it could be like the spices which also might include Saffron and their pungent qualities creating like a gasoline like petroleum leather effect. That's pretty much it I think. Not Fahrenheit gasoline at all! :)
I later EDT and EDP. 2 sprays of EDT 2 of EDP … works 👍👍
With this dosage, you probably kill every living thing within a mile radius😂
@@Den_Hi lol yeah 3 EDT is so strong.
Layering EDT and EDP makes the best sauvage 💯
Thanks for clarifying that there are various versions that should be compared in the selection process.
This is the first time I've heard a fragrence described to include dirty gasoline scent.😏 I've heard of a fragrance giving a hint of roach spray.😂
Dior Fahrenheit is often described as having a dirty gasoline/petrol smell...in a super masculine good way.
I hope PdM comes up with a Harod flanker, maybe a la parfum.
YES I want a parfum of HEROD!
Edt is the winner
Sauvage is my most complimented fragrance of all time it just works despite of all the hate it gets
I can see this with Sauvage. It's certainly a crowd pleaser! :)
Agreed. I've got many frags but my wife still loves the EDT and parfum
Same. Most compliments and can’t beat the performance.
I really think some people are just legit miserable! This is a great fragrance! The sales clearly indicate that!
No bs females be telling me i smell like heaven🤷🏾♂️😂😂
Fahrenheit Elixir, Dior Homme Elixir, Eau Sauvage Elixir are needed too. While they are at at it Dune Pour Homme Elixir, Jules Elixir would be good too. Come on Dior just do it.
Are you not satisfied with Fahrenheit Le Parfum?
Don’t forget Higher
BLUE bottles?!?
I don't need another Dior Sauvage, do I?
Just out of curiosity! For the people who are not interested in anymore Sauvage fragrances, why are u watching a video about Sauvage??? Make it make sense.....
Don't want to sound negative but why consumers pander to these endless flankers? This is number 4.
Back in the day, 80s and 90s - you had the original and then the designer moved on to something else.
Consumerism. I would say the companies pander to the consumer, not the other way around. People love collecting and brands have caught wind of that. I understand your frustrations but it’s what the market is pushing. I’m not a fan of flankers but sometimes they release flankers that are just what people wanted in the original like TDH Eau Tres Fraiche for me.
Totally agree @JasonNewton
They’ve become lazy and obviously are into repetition.Seems to be only about the money and not the creativity
I guess the same reason why we get movies like Taken 2, 3, 13, 23, etc
Because brands realize what they’re “cash cow”, is, and then stretch it out to ensure consumer relevance.
It’s the same concept as when a car brand makes a small adaption to a car model, calls it “new”, and then puts it out for the consumer.
Sauvage is one of Dior’s best selling product. It’s literally the “acqua di Gio”, of Dior’s men’s fragrances. It will never go away, and they’ll stretch it out, as long as it makes them millions.
Dior’s Sauvage, Chanel’s Bleu, and Armani’s Aqua Di Gio, are here to stay…
Probably for my hubby but he's been into more complex scents lately. This sounds like a doozy.
What does doozy mean?
It IS big, he will like it.
Not having experience with the Elixir edition, I prefer the EDP hopefully heavy on the cardamom & ambroxin.
I work at a Dior counter and we carry the MCD collection (Privée). A recommendation I make for the regular Sauvage customer is to layer Lucky with Sauvage, It makes for a beautiful experience.
OOH
@@ThePerfumeGuy It might sound strange at first, Lucky with its very clear and prominent Lilly of the valley note, paired with this super masculine, slightly cold metallicness that Sauvage brings. But it just gives the most lovely compliment to the Sauvage, as the Violet does for Fahrenheit.
Sauvage meets Fahrenheit?
Dior has squeezed the Sauvage lemon for all it’s worth. Time for something different
Why not acqua di gio has been going on for even longer and has came out with some great fragrances in recent times?
@@northsize I wouldn’t call Profondo great. Its generic and DEFINITELY not worth its MSRP.
@@northsize it’s time to move on from Acqua di Gio as well
Dior Homme 2020. Buy it and wear it for a week. You won’t be disappointed
@@northsize I was just about to say that sauvage, is the “Acqua di Gio”, of Dior.
Dior Sausage Fahest... 🤔
Re edit, after testing it for awhile I detected a little bit of aldehydes? I found it fantastic and underrated
I can see it!!
@@ThePerfumeGuy the shaving cream is to die for! Xo
Drakkar Noir on Dior price.
Stick with Drakkar then 🤷♂️
*How about a Sauvage Oud Intense edt, edp, parfum and extrait? Sauvage Squared, Sauvage Cubed, Sauvage Nuit and Sauvage Summer? Dior could start a Sauvage discount club and announce there'll be a new Sauvage mailed out every month for the next 2 years and you'll have 50,000 subscriptions or more within the month!*
LOL!
@@ThePerfumeGuy If they did create the Dior Sauvage Discount Club with constant new releases, I can picture you telling a colleague in 2025, "I can't make the meeting because I have a carpenter coming over to install four new shelves just to house my Sauvage flanker collection!"
@@shave-a-thon3415 🤣🤣🤣
Special club called SAUVAGE. I think that's a goldmine waiting to happen! ;)
Bro it’s a fragrance. Your probably a grown ass man, act like it. You seem so frustrated over a perfume.
Most anticipated fragrances because it's Dior or Sauvage?
Schaut was geh t US D bleibt and sauvag E geh T 😉
Mix ist the best 🤩
With that gasoline note, this sounds like a mix between Fahrenheit and sauvage
It’s not a heavy gasoline note and def not like Fahrenheit. 😀
@@ThePerfumeGuy ah gotcha, I think nothing will ever quite smell like Fahrenheit, just that dna maybe?
Did you ever get to do a review of Elixir? what are your thoughts now?
Yes it’s on the channel.
But mostly I featured it in multiple videos I do like it probably be the best in the line! 😀
6:26 “You know, I’m not [seeing a lot of differences between the parfum and elixir”
Wait… what!? 😳
8:29 “[this is] just a more concentrated version of the [parfum]”
😳😳😳😱😱😱
Someone get this man a pair of nostrils pleeeease! 😂
j/k But I do I have both the parfum and the elixir one boy, are they different! Elixir to me feels like a complete departure of the Sauvage line. But I don’t know, maybe I’m too new to this and my nose isn’t fully developed yet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Dior Homme Elixer, Dior Homme Elixer!!!
Definitely not 2020 Elixir. We need some of that Iris!
I see there is a new 3.4 bottle now in stores of Elixir for almost 200.00 dollars. They are really going crazy with these prices. It’s probably reformulated too
Not in a year
It’s not 😀
It better not be reformulated. I plan on getting a bottle in 4 weeks.😂😂
Why is the breakdown sounding like Fahrenheit?
It's not like fahrenheit though. :)
@@ThePerfumeGuy honestly, I don't think it would be a bad thing if it was! 😁
#DiorHommeElixir - this is what we really need!!! Please, Dior!
YES please Dior deliver us the goods! :)
👏👏👏
how can anybody really like syntetic notes like ambroxan since it gives me the worst headache ever. Can't be the only one..
Did you just say gives YOU the worst headache. Keyword is YOU! It doesn’t give ME a headache.. 😀
@@ThePerfumeGuy
Yes you are right :-) I'm just wondering why this has such a negative effect on my health while others find it so attractive & seductive.
It starts off stronger than the parfum, but it doesn't last as long as the parfum. It almost lasts as long, but the parfum lasts maybe 4 hrs longer.
Not at all, elixir lasts for like 2 days
Your nose must be broken
@@ozneonil7132 thank you.
Fahrenheit?? :P
Not quite!
Ohh you got a sample 👀
I know what you mean. I go through sample vials like water. Can't stand having a spray or two and thinking that I've got the jist of a frag. Gotta empty those suckers on me. Two wearings per vial MAX. If I'm not impressed by the second wearing, it's out of my mind. And out of my car. ♫ Beep beep! Yeah! ♫ It's a white porsche. 🤣 No it isn't.
LOL!
It's $155 for 60ml
Great. I thought it was $145 though. Oh well. Thanks for posting the price.
Smells like MFK masculin pluriel
The whole trend in releasing only 3 notes or accords for a fragrance needs to stop. Dumbing down perfume is not a positive direction, 3 notes gives you absolutely no real way to judge how a scent will smell...and maybe that's the reason for them to do it, the more you list the better chance you turn people away from buying based on one little note in a composition 🤷♂️ I dunno, but it's annoying.
I agree but mass loves that as they don't get notes. The less they know the more they will wear the dumb scents. LOL! ;)
@@ThePerfumeGuy grrr.. it angers me.
It’s insanely stupid I agree and I don’t think it’s just for the consumer I also think it’s for your typical sales associate that doesn’t know anything as well to make it easier for them to “sound like” they’re knowing what they’re talking about. The 3 note trend is terrible
We love a remix!!!!!!! Mariah has the best!
Ha! Love me a good remix! :)
Sounds like Fahrenheit and sauvage..... did they higher Dua fragrances to make this? Hahahaha
I’m not interested in this anymore.
Seems Lavender/Lavandin and woods are appearing in many new releases.
Yes they are. Hint hint the new Ralph's Club. Boring as Eff! I will review it actually. It will be quite negative and I originally wasn't going to but I decided to. Might as well tell it like it is! :)
@@ThePerfumeGuy can’t wait for your review. Somehow I was hoping it would be good! One less I’ll have to
