Then I ordered up some Asphalt millings from Mother Earth Land Improvement (352-201-7774), spread out with my tractor.
Garage overhead roll up doors finally installed! Woohoo!!!
This metal building Is 40x30 feet with 12 foot walls, 3 roll up doors w chains, 1 entry door and 5 windows. I did this video to help others know what to expect and how long the process takes in Citrus County, Florida.
The concrete slab is 4 1/2” thick fiber reinforced with a footer and the dirt underneath is clay termite treated to meet local codes in Citrus county.

So since I am not full time in Florida yet, I had to rely on my security cameras to capture many of the videos, I think they did an EXCELLENT job! What do you think?

Crystal River area is a nice quiet old Florida kind of town so we have been visiting there for the past several years and started looking for property. We finally found something very inexpensive with an old Mobile Home on it, so electric, well and septic included (no $6000 impact fees) and pulled the trigger.
Follow along on our adventure to fixing up this old crappy trailer into our winter vacation home paradise! (Casa De Cheez)

Jan's company seems like a real class act! The result was fantastic something really to be proud of - Congratulations Cheez!
the shop looks awesome brother, the south is much more laxed when it comes to codes etc, compared to new york state and other parts of the north, glad i left new york thats for sure,
💯💯💯
Totally awesome shop dude Love it Love it love it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks!
Nice work shop. Should produce some good content.
Thanks, definitely
Same doors that Andrew Camarata put in his new shop. Your crew was much more efficient, knew what they were doing. Looks great man, just need a few Whirly Birds.
Does that price include the slab, land clearing and electric too? Now you just have to get it insulated and HVAC system put in.
Everything but the electric.
It includes permit fees ETC. Yes insulation and AC eventually
@@MotoCheez That sounds like you just robbed Jan, how did they do it for that price with that quality
@john_barnett 😁👍 I guess I got lucky... She's good
congrats! the Cheezy Winter Estate is looking awesome!
Man that looks so good Cheezy. Tire machine sounds awesome. What about a small Bridgeport or a Lathe? That's what I'd like. If you need it, make it...
Been looking for a combo unit, lathe/mill
Man that whole project , land clearing, house , garage has turned out amazing. Cheezy general contracting 5 star
Thanks!
I know there was allot of defects with house but overall are you happy you went that way
Definitely. It was worth it. Defects weren't major
Are you thinking spray foam for garage or is that not really popular in Florida?
@kevins1927 yes, I am eventually, it is popular
before i forget MINI trucks are now legal to drive anywhere in Texas. the only trouble is they went for about $4000 to over $8000 over night. so i might be going out of state to get one very soon. and glad you got your lights but you could have 100 wall plugs and lights and somewhere you going to need another one. LOL. i sure miss my shop.
Yes! I saw that and posted it on my Facebook wall a few days ago. It's awesome
Are the UFOs 200 watts each? 200 watt equivalent or 200 watts over the 6pack?
Some spray foam and a mini split you can work all summer in there
200w each! That's what I plan on doing. I have an older mobile home AC unit already. 2.5 ton
Asphalt millings should be at least 4 inches deep and then rolled for compaction. I'm not sure how well they'll compact over sand though
It's definitely about 5 in thick at the garage cuz I dug out a big lip to make sure I kept at least 4 in going out at the very end it's tapered I drove back and forth with my tractor the knobbies on the wheels really compacted it in and then I went over with my Jeep about 30 times It's pretty solid. The kickstands on a bikes don't even sink in
Another phat L for a "Pro""Master" "work" van
Yep
You mean a Fiat "Piece of shit"
Go rent you a walk behind tamper it’s gas powered just don’t let it. Sit in one spot for too long running, but it should compact the Millings pretty good however I’m not sure how well it will compact on top of sand though got a sweet looking shop.
It's actually packed in pretty tight I drove over back and forth with the tractor and it kind of compacted it with the grooves and the large wheels and then I did it with my Jeep a few times it's not moving The kickstand of the bikes don't even sink in so it must be pretty good. Thanks That's a pretty good idea
30 grand.. for the Building., and slab . Not the lift or electric? Wheres the Water?? lol
I'll end up putting a slop sink in
How many days do you predict to 50K subs? I added outlets on the front of my barn outside, and I have plans for a retractable air hose on the front inside, with a passthrough hole so I can use it outside as well
About another month or two
Holy Crap..those lights are bright !!! please post a link to sunscreen in the description
😅😁👍 it's in description
Looks like with this new garage there’s a more permanent move to New Cheeztown in the Land Of Free Florida
Eventually!
Maybe get some bags of cement without gravel from the deopt and dust the drive way then mist water over it?
Yeah I wonder how that would work
For 30k that's a bargain! Beautiful garage.
Thanks!
Is the Florida home a winter get a way home?
Yes, for now. But will end up primary home eventually
@@MotoCheez my grandparents had the same deal near Melbourne FL.
@Creptex it's crazy!
Look really good. Wait until someone evening when you're alone and you just stand there staring at it and it sinks in what it is.
Some evening
You got it goin` on Cheezy, glad its all coming together. My home center seems to be draggin their feet, hopefully I`ll be in my place by June.
Where did you buy from? What's the holdup I know that sometimes there's a holdup with permits of course
@@MotoCheez Acme Homes 2 in Homassassa
Sounds like you had a happy ending. Wait, that's what she said.
Yes! 🤣
Just like uptown now!
Wait a minute where the hell did the C6 ? Come from, I didn't get the memo on that was I out that week?
😁😅 That was my C6 I restored from hurricane Sandy.
Sold it to my son a few years ago
You need to get a sponsor with Mr Cool and some solar on that shop and do some spray foam hopefully you can get a sponsor today pay for most of it
Good idea!
Would it benefit you to put solar panels on both the home and garage?
Probably, we do get a lot of sunshine down here. It's just a cost of installing them or finding a good promotion
Great layout , we knew it would be functional and give you room for the unknown !…enjoy ! We’re thinking it may become permanent !
Cheez this is soo nice! One day id love to have a nice shop like this! I miss being able to do side work. are you going to put a ducted fan w/shutters at one end of your shop? Lokks killer!
Thanks, yes I'm going to put an exhaust fan up high and one of the gables two foot by 2 ft, probably next trip. That'll help suck the heat out
@@MotoCheez Yepper!! How thick did you pour the concrete by the lift bses? Ive heard 6" is best. Im sure it depends on the lift.
@craigdeloach3976 10" deep
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍
I appreciate the documentation of this project. Overall, seems like great deal compared to the west coast.
Your shop turned out very, very nice. 😎
Than you
Shop looks great
Thanks
First :)
Yes first!
The lights are going to create a lot of a lot of shadows all being in the middle.
I got one of those on a rolling tripod with a boom arm that I use as a shop light now.
Looks like they're causing banding issues on your camera.
And actually lights the place up really good because of the white walls, and they are LED so they really don't give off a ton of heat compared to the old style. I think it's the frequency of the lights that are messing with the actual video. Yeah I'm looking for something to work on a car so when it's up he got a light that'll look underneath
@@MotoCheez
Try manual exposure settings to avoid banding.
@fochdischitt3561 I didn't see any adjustments on these lights. They were fairly cheap on Amazon
@@MotoCheez
No your camera settings.
Change your shutter speed.
Look up "LED banding" video's for clear examples.
@fochdischitt3561 ohhh
Cheez!
Yo... 2nd

Turned out great!❤🎉
