Thanks for an informative show Phil, so much wanted stems back in the 70’s, everyone thought I was crazy then, what a breakthrough for the DJ world, cheers 👌
Its great hearing that the Roland DJ 202 is very popular. It looks basic but that thing can be a beast, so i had a feeling that it could handle stems, glad to see the Rolands supported
Knowledgeable and an amazing communicator. What an asset for Serato. Bought 2 Serato DJ Pro enabled products today and probably an expansion pack soon too.
Phil, thank you so much. This is exciting. Any word on how Pioneer will compete with this feature via Rekordbox? I’m not even going to ask about Native Instruments. They have more major things to deal with than worrying about modifying how stems work in Traktor. I’m still holding hope that NI comes back strong in 2023. I refuse to sell my S2 Mk2’s. For now though I’m immersing myself in Rekordbox and Serato with my new DJM-S7. Thank you to the @Digital DJ Tips team for recommending the course by DJ Angelo. I bought it last week and I am excited to jump into it when I have free time.
Will the DDJ-SB3 be able to have the "Replace Pad mode with Stems" feature in Serato DJ Pro in the future? I see that it's available for Serato DJ Lite, but I use Pro so that I can have full functionality. I can use stems in the software, but not on the hardware. This isn't really ideal for easy useability. Will I have to upgrade my controller?
Laptop issue a good question . I got Windows 10 lenovo laptop, but I've recently had the CPU maximum boosted for memory & and I am wondering if it's enough for stems ?
@@digitaldjtips Would have made a ton of sense to add USB connectivity to the 12's or the RP 8000.Either way thank you for the great breakdowns and content!
So Stems takes up a lot of space as for the music files that are processed. Hypothetical, if you have 2 gigs worth of music and wanted to process all those songs as stems, how much extra space would you need to have all those songs processed through stems?
Either pre stem them so yes that would take 2x-3x the amount of space. But you can also do them i. Realtime as long as you have a strong laptop. In that case u won't have to pre save them. I would only do it for songs i know i always use stems with

Indeed, a new horizon!

Thank you so much for your awesome work. Cheers Phill
you're welcome!
Thank you Phil, boatloads of great information in this episode
You are welcome!
I love it! Way to go Serato!
Glad to help
This guy from Serato is very knowledgeable. Great interview! I’d argue stems will become JUST as revolutionary as the sync button
Could well do! And yes, OP is great.

Using these stems in serato studio....have managed to make more than 50 mashups , it just brilliant stuff
Great, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for buying the course! We do not know when Rekordbox will jump on stems. NI have said they will.
@@digitaldjtipsthe DJ software wars are heating up once again! Thank you for getting back to me guys. Keep up the good work. Have a great day!

I would imagine that if it works in Lite, it will work in Pro.
Will Stems work with Video files (MP4)?
Yes, Serato confirmed on the live stream event
Laptop issue a good question . I got Windows 10 lenovo laptop, but I've recently had the CPU maximum boosted for memory & and I am wondering if it's enough for stems ?
They have a spec page on their website, you can check against that
Does the rane four, automatically unlocks serato dvs?
Good question. Not sure.
Will the stems work with Digital catalog..
Like from beatsoure or apple music
Any streaming service that works with your DJ software will also work with stems, yes.
Can the Rane 4 be used with the Rane 12's?
Not tested it but as they are Serato accessories, I guess it can.

Hey Phil! Can we interview you on our channel?
so the stems for the 707m are available on mac but not on windows... that sucks...
I didn't here him say that, where did you conclude that from?
@@digitaldjtips when you asked OP about the 707m, he only showed you the issue with the macOS and Monerey with no mention of windows platform.

Does Serato tell you like VDJ when you go to install that your computer won't be able to handle Stems.
Serato has two ways of working with Stems, one of which works with a wider range of computers. It has a minimum/recommended spec page on its website.
@@digitaldjtips Sounds like the short answer was no. Thanks

Five times (one for the original file, four for the stems).
@@digitaldjtips but do the stens take as much since being only a certain part?
Is there any way to change the destination on where the stems files are stored??
No
Will Rekordbox have Stems
We have no word on that as yet
