yotricks, I'm proud to announce that today I have been yoyoing young for exactly 1 year! I would like to thank everyone from yotrick, especially Connor. I want to thank him because as a new yoyoer he answer all of my question and helped me advance faster than I thought I could. Also, I would like to thank yotricks because you reposted some of my stuff on Instagram and got me a bunch of new followers. thank you, Jaden (JLBros27)
yotricks plz send me the CANON FLIGHT HORIZION REPLAY PRO or the EDGE I WANT TO TEST WHICH YOYO WILL HELP ME ACCEL IN MY SKILLS I HAVE SEEN ALL OF YOUR VIDEO S BUT I NEED SOME HANDS ON. PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION THANK YOU
I've never been interested in yo-yos in any way, but for some reason I watched this entire video instead of going to sleep. The informative nature of it is very compelling.
So until yesterday I last threw a (wooden, non-bearing) YoYo 50 years ago, but I bought a $5 one to support a local craft fare, showed the maker how to put the string on correctly so it would sleep, then walked around subconsciously throwing, sleeping and catching it. After a bit I noticed how people were watching this simple YoYo action. I am about to retire, am too old to learn too many new tricks, but I will have plenty of time to practice. Wow, how high technology are these new YoYo's, and so many styles from which to choose! This is going to be fun, and thank you for the videos and the store - I think I will start with a Sage pack.
I am sure you will love it. If you are interested in learning lots of tricks, the Sage is the way to go. However, if you are just looking for something that can handle all the old school stuff, just better, you may actually enjoy the Fizz a little more. I'd love to hear how you are progressing moving forward!
After studying your 2017 Buyers Guide and a number of the videos, especially those on how to bind, I settled on the DV888 Unresponsive Pro Pack to refresh responsive then learn unresponsive. Thanks!
could you please do a series on how parts of yoyo's affect the performance? like how H yoyo's are more stable or center track bearings improve spin time.
Been yoyoing for a whole year as of September. The first budget yoyo I got was the Canon. By now it's all beat up and scratched for use courtesy of noob Jonathan. And I am actually thinking of buying another one. It has everything I'm looking for, v ish shape for speed, lots of rim weight, and a stronger axel for my mistakes. It's really good and I've just experimented with 5a and 3a and such, though I'm not that good. The Canon is just a really good overall you and I would recommend it to anyone (within reason). Yay yotricks
Loving your take and ideas behind The Ethos. It is an intriguing looking throw. Glad to know it's weight rings were made the way they were for more rim weight. I'm starting to pick up on these subtleties and nuances. Currently pushing past 'Starter' to 'Intermediate' and I owe it to you guys. Thxx. keep it up.

ramy ahmed They don't mention unresponsive plastics often for some reason. They don't carry the Czech Point Pivot or iYoYo Firrox so they don't feature them. I believe they once said it's hard for them to carry non-US brand yoyos.
a lot of people in the subreddit dog on you guys as a company. Personally I think y'all are great and if it wasn't for finding these videos 2 years ago I wouldn't be yoyoing now.
I hope you add the optional response pads selection back because some people tend to forget getting them before purchasing then remembering after they bought the yoyo. I wouldn't want to buy something again right after I buy something just because I forgot the response pads
As a new player I have a dv888. I have a sage but I need pads for it. I can breakaway throw and do a side mount. I'm looking to play for a long time so money isn't the issue between the two yoyos I was thinking about getting for my first high end yoyo. Should I get a civility or an ethos? I'll eventually end up getting both but I can only afford one at the moment. I'm thinking 1a style for now and I really enjoy the way 5a looks so maybe that in the future but I need help please! Any other suggestions are welcome as well I just really liked the way those two seem to be
If you are thinking of 1a and 5a I would recommend either the Canon or the Atlas. Both are excellent options. Between the Civility and the Ethos, I would probably go with the Ethos since it is more distinct from your current yoyos, but I think you will really enjoy both.
Hi, yotricks i have been watching you guys since my first sleeper, and right now i am in my first year of yoyoing and last week i won my first contest,, it was my 7th one and now i am looking to buy a new yoyo, my style is a bit techy so should i get a bi metal or a high end monometal yoyo? Im kinda dazzling with the decsicion thanks!
Thats awesome! Congrats on the win! Based on what you said it sounds like you would really enjoy the Ethos, which is really good for the style of tricks that you mentioned. yoyotricks.com/shop/yoyo-store/yoyo-brands/yotricks/ethos-yoyo/
hey yotricks i live in Singapore and i bought a shutter from spinworkz 2 months ago and I'm LOVING IT !!!!!! But i just have 1 question, how often do you need to replace centre trac bearing ?
Not a huge fan of the Velocity, myself. It seems like the YYF Whip, except the responsiveness can be adjusted. It can be tricky to adjust properly (especially for beginners!), since a wrong adjustment can mean it won't sleep at all. It's also a bit unstable as you get further into 1A. Just my personal experience. Others think it's great.
Is there a set balanced yoyo that can manage every trick rather then having specific yoyo for each type of tricks? Like instead of 1a 2a etc can do them all with?
If you are only interested in doing the most basic tricks, the Fizz can do everything. However, no yoyo can do all the best tricks for every style for a number of reasons. For example, 1a, 3a, and 5a yoyos must be unresponsive to do the best tricks, while a 2a yoyo must be responsive. 4a yoyos need a narrow string gap, and 1a, 3a, 5a, yoyos all require a wide gap in order to play unresponsive. In addition, 4a yoyo need to be super durable when hitting the ground, and most yoyos designed for other styles are not nearly durable enough. 2a yoyos play best if they are not very wide, all other styles require a very wide yoyo. Like I said, if you are only interested in learning the first couple of tricks for each style, the Fizz yoyo will do. Otherwise, it is best to have yoyos designed for each play style.
Those are all good options. It just depends on what you are looking for. I am sure you would be happy with any one of them. What are you looking for in a yoyo?
Can I learn the first 50 tricks with an unresponsive yoyo only? (doing bind to substitute for recalling the yoyo) I'm asking this because I received a replay pro yoyo from a friend who didn't want it anymore.
Would you suggest the canon as a good yoyo for a1 only? Or are there better unresponsive a1 yoyos for a similar price. People say they like the canon because of its controll and weight and thats what i would like.
So what happens if you get the yo yo you want to advance to and get the one you want to use before that. What I'm trying to say is would anything happen to a yoyo if you kept it in storage for a certain amount of time. Because I want to buy both a responsive yoyo and an unresponsive yoyo because to me, unresponsive is kind if the way to go for beginner. I could be wrong, but let me know. So at least I know what to do. Thanks. Very detailed video by the way.
Yotricks, what yoyo would you recommend for learning the long string tricks on your site (black hops, kamikaze, spirit bomb, candy rain, breath, etc.)?
Adam I've been here since the 2013 yoyo buyers guide and I just wanna say thank you for teaching me how to yoyo. btw all these yoyo suck. The Luminator is where it's at.
Mister Momo I was there for 2013 buyer's guide too! I was using a duncan butterfly xt (it was unresponsive too wtf?) lost it and didn't yoyo for 2.5 yeats
One Drop specializes more in what I would call the casual side of yoyos. Their designs tend to be a little more center-weighted than most and more organic shaped, both of which make yoyos more comfortable, but not quite as high-performing. Are you looking for a One Drop yoyo for competition, or any yoyo? Also, what price range are you looking for?
@@yotricks Currently I am interested in two yoyos: CLYW Manatee and the YYF Shutter Wide Angle. While the CLYW Manatee has a better quality of aluminum, the Shutter Wide Angle is lighter by 3 grams. However the big difference is really the shape. I am just looking for your opinion on this matter. Thanks.
yotricks Oh ok, thanks a lot. I finally got back to yoyo again after 2 years because of school and the area I used to live is hard to buy yoyo accessaries
Not sure. The kendama market is going through some turmoil right now. It is difficult to say which companies will be around for a whole year, much less which kendamas. When things stabilize we will definitely give the buyer's guide another look, though.
I am a yoyoer I am looking for some great yoyos 1a and 4a so can you, yotricks, send me some good yoyos like the edge or the horizon or the canon. what about the yyf flight. PLZ SEND ME THEM SO I CAN CHOOSE WHICK ONE I LIKE THANKS.PLZ TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION
Zachary Young I'm gonna second that. I really want to see an in depth review of the Ethos, as I'm very interested in that one (y'know, when I actually have money to spend on a yoyo, lol...responsibilities suck sometimes).
It depends on the tricks you want to do. In general we recommend players get the Shutter first, but if you are really interested in finger spin tricks go with the Horizon. yoyotricks.com/legendary-yoyos-yoyo-store/
I am a very new player to yo-yoing, and I have a fixed axle yo-yo that can only sleep for seconds at a time, and I can't learn any tricks because of that. Do you recommend that I buy a ball bearing yo-yo such as the sage?
Once you add the products that you would like to purchase to your cart you will go to the checkout and under your shipping address you will see a field that says "Country" where you can change it to France.
hey, so I like to play diabolo a lot, but recently I've been getting into yoyo stuff. I kinda wanna learn. Seems like "the fizz" is a good starter. I was wondering if other people used this to see if this is a good yoyo. Also, how expensive is yoyo? When I play diabolos the diabolo itself costs 50 (which isn't bad, I use a Sundia triple bearing), but the carbon sticks I use cost around 30 (which is kinda expensive, mainly bc I break them a lot when I hit them against a wall while doing a trick), also the string is another mess ($10 per roll)
The Fizz is the yoyo we use to teach all our yoyo classes with kids and adults, and we see more immediate success with that yoyo compared to any other yoyo we have tried. That being said, if you are already into skill toys, I would recommend you skip the beginner models and go right for the more advanced options. The Sage Starter Pack is a good option because you can get your feet wet with it in responsive mode, and then upgrade it with the included bearing to get into unresponsive play. That is assuming you want to get into conventional yoyoing. As a diabolo player offstring would be relatively easy to learn as well. For that we recommend the Flight yoyo. yoyotricks.com/shop/yoyo-store/yoyo-brands/yotricks/the-sage-yoyo-starter-pack/ yoyotricks.com/shop/yoyo-store/yoyo-brands/yoyofactory/flight-yoyo/
yotricks cool! I already bought the fizz (comes in tmr :) very excited). I see people saying the fizz is good for beginners and more advanced tricks. It’s also super budget friendly (I don’t know how much the sage costs, but the fizz at 10 is a veryyyyy good price. Diabolo costs a lot lmao) As I get better I am looking forward to get better and learn more tricks and start upgrading :)
Thanks! @@yotricks. What are the advantages and playstyles of using a counterweight instead of a standard loop? I'm getting into YoYo and I want to know what I should get next, not only yoyos, but accessories too.
The counterweight allows you to do a different style of yoyoing called Freehand. We describe it here: yoyotricks.com/yoyo-tricks/freehand-fundamentals/
Hi, I'm fairly new to yoyo-ing and I'm having a lot of trouble with certain things; But the main problem is, my yoyo does not spin for more than 10 seconds. It is a duncan mosquito, they are not produced anymore, but I think there's maybe a few in green and blue for around 35$ as they are rare now. I did put WD-40 on the bearing and it really helped, but you say that WD-40 can damage the bearing. So I was wondering- I have this rubik's cube lube called "Maru", it is a thin lube. (thecubicle.us/maru-lube-p-507.html) So I was wondering if this lube would probably help make it spin longer?
The Duncan Mosquito does not sleep very long since it is so small and light. Without a very hard throw we do not think that you can get much more than 10 seconds out of it. If you are looking for a great beginner yoyo we would highly recommend the Sage yoyo to you. WD-40 will definitely damage your bearing over time if you continue to use it. yoyotricks.com/shop/yoyo-brands/yotricks/the-sage-yoyo-starter-pack/
ah.. I see. I figured maybe it would get more sleep time if it was new but maybe not. I will most likely get the YoTricks' Edition one. Thank you for your help!
The "Ethos" of any community is what they believe to be truly good. With the Ethos yoyo our goal was to capture this moment in yoyo history that best exemplified what the yoyo is looking for. Both in terms of style and performance.
yotricks Ahhh, I see what you did. You alluded to this 'Goodness' when intro-ing the Ethos. I love it's look and you guys usually hit your mark in terms of yoyos meeting the goals you set out for them. The Ethos will definitely be my next purchase. Thxx for loving the community with this Throw.
Anyone know if silicone lube would work for yoyo? I solve Rubik's cubes and have silicone lube for my cubes so I was wondering if I could use it for my yoyo
That lube is similar to yoyo lube, but it is considerably thicker - even the thinnest kind. If you use a small enough amount to lube your yoyo it will probably work, however.
Hi Adam! I have some questions! 1. The Fizz seems to be based on the F.A.S.T. 201. However, there are some things I really dislike about that yoyo. The bearing size, spacers, and O-rings are non-standard, and the starburst teeth are very snaggy on the string without extensive modding. The starbursts also make it very loud. Have some of these issues been addressed? 2. At one point you mentioned that the Sage's caps can be removed? Is this a new feature? My Sage doesn't seem to have removable caps. 3. Will a 2A-5A guide be coming soon? Would you consider perhaps making a separate video for each style? I think this would be more useful for players only looking to start one of those styles. 4. Would you maybe consider making style sort of 'Made in America' guide? There are done really good throws that you haven't talked about like the Vanguard and YYJ Classic (you are one of the few stores that still has them!).
1. The bearing size in the Fast 201 is a standard size, it is size A. The Fizz bearing is the same. However, in the Fizz there are no spacers, no o-rings, and the starburst teeth are rounded and much less snaggy. It is also less loud than the Fast 201. 2. This has always been the case. They are quite difficult to remove, and we only recommend it if you need to remove your bolt, however. Just push the bolt through the yoyo (with some force) and this will pop off the cap. 3. We are not planning to update the other buyer's guide soon as most of our recommendations have not changed. If we were to redo it I am sure it would still be for all the styles, however. 4. So few yoyos are made in the USA now (pretty much only One Drop), we may as well just make a OneDrop video. Perhaps in the future if we decide to carry more of their yoyos we would make a video about them.
yotricks A sized bearings are still in use, but for 1A play they are of course far behind size C in popularity. So at the very least that could merit mentioning it. As far as American manufactured yoyos go, yeah, One Drop is the only major one, alongside a select few like 2Sick, Monkeyfinger, and G2, which only really sells direct nowadays anyway. That said, I really like OD and feel that they are definitely worth talking about alongside YYF. I'm really sad to see you don't seem to be carrying any of their throws right now.
Also, concerning the use of A bearings in beginner yoyos, the definition of "beginner" yoyos in our store is that they are not suitable for the full range of 1a tricks. No player who already has a yoyo (i.e. who knows experimentally what a size "C" bearing is) should be looking at a yoyo like the Fizz (at least not the way we try to pitch it to our customers). It seems a bit premature to talk about bearing size in our beginner category, to use at least. That being said, we do discuss bearing size in the starter section of this video, because, at that point it will make an appreciable difference in terms of performance - assuming players are using the yoyos accorder to how they were designed.
We haven't played with the K1 before, but you should make sure both halves are screwed together properly and all the way. If you have then we don't know what else you can do.
if there were to be an instance where the civility gets a stripped axle, can you go to a hardware store and get a new nut to sit in there or is it stuck in there?

So what happens if you get the yo yo you want to advance to and get the one you want to use before that. What I'm trying to say is would anything happen to a yoyo if you kept it in storage for a certain amount of time. Because I want to buy both a responsive yoyo and an unresponsive yoyo because to me, unresponsive is kind if the way to go for beginner. I could be wrong, but let me know. So at least I know what to do. Thanks. Very detailed video by the way.
You can go either way. If you get an unresponsive yoyo and can do the tricks, there is no reason to get a responsive yoyo if you don't want one.
ihave a question that is velocity good yoyo for beginners to intermediate
I am not sure what you mean by intermediate, but it is capable of both beginner and advanced tricks.
I've been waiting for this video!!! :D
I subscribed but I want to see canon yoyo unboxing and review please
We plan on doing it eventually.
Yotricks, what yoyo would you recommend for learning the long string tricks on your site (black hops, kamikaze, spirit bomb, candy rain, breath, etc.)?
civility
Is the shipping worldwide?
Can yotricks ship to the philipines
Adam I've been here since the 2013 yoyo buyers guide and I just wanna say thank you for teaching me how to yoyo. btw all these yoyo suck. The Luminator is where it's at.
Funny ;)
Yotricks is savage!!!
Mister Momo I was there for 2013 buyer's guide too! I was using a duncan butterfly xt (it was unresponsive too wtf?) lost it and didn't yoyo for 2.5 yeats
Anyone else use Duncan Reflex?
this is soooooooooo cool thank you for making this i know just what i want now for a yo yo perfect for me
What is your opinion on one drop yo-yos and what would you recommend for a competition for an all around player?
Thanks.
OG Ghost Both are very fun yo-yos, but the shutter wide-angle is a much more competition oriented yoyo than the Manatee, in my opinion.
yotricks, i am from Brazil and I want a 1a beginner yoyo, could you recommend a good one for me?
We do ship to Brazil, we would recommend the Sage beginner pack :)

Is there going to be a speed combo series coming out?
We are in the middle of releasing those now:
yoyotricks.com/yoyo-tricks/frontstyle-speed-combo-series/
I just ordered a Canon and a Shutter. But may I ask that how long will it take to ship to Quebec, Canada?
Lê Fat A Duy Usually 10 days to 2 weeks.
yotricks Oh ok, thanks a lot. I finally got back to yoyo again after 2 years because of school and the area I used to live is hard to buy yoyo accessaries
I am from the U.A.E. and the website doesn't ship to here!!!!!! I reaaaallly want a sage YoYo!!!!!
Hi, your channel is great
Yotricks can you make a custom designed to fit someone personality
Is there going to be a kendama buyers guide this year?
Not sure. The kendama market is going through some turmoil right now. It is difficult to say which companies will be around for a whole year, much less which kendamas. When things stabilize we will definitely give the buyer's guide another look, though.
yotricks Oh no, that really sucks... time to buy up some kens!
Are you guys going to be coming out with a 2018 buyers guide soon?
Eventually, but I am not sure how soon.
Is there a way to make a yoyo unresponsive without upgrading?
When finger spinning with the nine dragons, will your finger be centered?
Yes.
yoyotricks.com/shop/yoyo-store/yoyo-brands/yoyofactory/nine-dragons-yoyo/
I want to see a in-depth ethos review
Zachary Young I'm gonna second that. I really want to see an in depth review of the Ethos, as I'm very interested in that one (y'know, when I actually have money to spend on a yoyo, lol...responsibilities suck sometimes).
Yotricks. How often do you need to replace a KONCAVE bearing
If you keep it properly lubed and clean it when it needs to be cleaned, you should not need to replace it.
@@yotricks thanls
Do You Guys Ship To Dubai????
Yotricks what is better The shutter or The horizon for tricks
It depends on the tricks you want to do. In general we recommend players get the Shutter first, but if you are really interested in finger spin tricks go with the Horizon.
yoyotricks.com/legendary-yoyos-yoyo-store/
it's good that you make this video yotricks.
and thanks
Hey I just bought my self a nine dragons. An I was wondering how to get the two bearings out on the shells.
Molly Glesby bearing remover lol
Ya but well they go back
Is it possible to do finger grinds on the DV888?
Yes.
What do you guys think about the Compass by CLYW?
We haven't really played with it so we don't know much about it, sorry.
I am a very new player to yo-yoing, and I have a fixed axle yo-yo that can only sleep for seconds at a time, and I can't learn any tricks because of that. Do you recommend that I buy a ball bearing yo-yo such as the sage?
Indeed. If you would like to learn tricks having a ball bearing yoyo will help immensely.
Thanks! I plan to buy one soon
do you ship to bangladesh?
Hello, i want to buy a yoyo but i live in France and i don't really understand how to request a shippping to my country.
Once you add the products that you would like to purchase to your cart you will go to the checkout and under your shipping address you will see a field that says "Country" where you can change it to France.
Which yoyo you are using which clour is blue
Hey yotricks will you be carrying the metal skyva?
Yes we will! It should be in the store by the end of the day :)
hey, so I like to play diabolo a lot, but recently I've been getting into yoyo stuff.
For that we recommend the Flight yoyo.

yotricks cool! I already bought the fizz (comes in tmr :) very excited). I see people saying the fizz is good for beginners and more advanced tricks. It’s also super budget friendly (I don’t know how much the sage costs, but the fizz at 10 is a veryyyyy good price. Diabolo costs a lot lmao)
As I get better I am looking forward to get better and learn more tricks and start upgrading :)
Awesome. Let me know how things progress!
Really enjoying it! Only suggestion: I bought a blue yoyo but it came with green string. Really small but it kinda bothers me lol :3
I am so tempted to buy one/two of your yoyos, cuz u guys brought me in yoyoing
We are sorry about the shipping cost. The price you pay is the same price that we pay to ship them.
yotricks yeah i can imagine. I didnt want to be mean or anything. Just was sad about that :(
But no problem guys, i ordered anyways
can u do a finger spin with dv888 and other grinds?
That yoyo is not great for finger spins, but it does do other grinds well.
yotricks k thx.....
not that u ship in India.....
We just added shipping to India.
What's that ball grip on the end of the yoyo and where do you get one?
It is called a counterweight.
yoyotricks.com/shop/cat/yoyo-store/yoyo-mods-maintenance/counterweights/
Thanks! @@yotricks. What are the advantages and playstyles of using a counterweight instead of a standard loop? I'm getting into YoYo and I want to know what I should get next, not only yoyos, but accessories too.
The counterweight allows you to do a different style of yoyoing called Freehand. We describe it here:
yoyotricks.com/yoyo-tricks/freehand-fundamentals/
am i the only 1 that watched the whole 40mins =X
No your not alone.
I downloaded it for later.
Nope
i did as well
I want to own a piece of yoyo but I can not find the original yo-yo in my country I'm from Morocco possible solution
Most likely you will need to order a ball bearing yoyo off the internet.
Hi, I'm fairly new to yoyo-ing and I'm having a lot of trouble with certain things;
But the main problem is, my yoyo does not spin for more than 10 seconds.
37:23 what was the bind?
That is called the Vortex. We have not yet taught this trick, but we will in an upcoming video.
What about WD-40 to lube it? What's the difference with yoyo lube?
WD-40 is not good for yoyo bearings. It could damage the plastic on your yoyo, and keep the bearing from working properly.
Hey where did you guys come up with the yoyo' s name "Ethos"?
What yoyo would you guys recommend? The Ethos or the Edge?
The Edge is better for extreme tricks and competition, while the Ethos is more of a pocket throw.
What was that second trick you did in the video
What is the time stamp?
Mach 10
Is the Ethos better than the Czech point Pivot?
YoYo Boy they are very different, but both excellent in their own ways.
can you bring tal mordoch as a guest to show his tricks
when i want to buy a yoyo from your website i don't find Morocco on country list why ? any solution?
If you write us through the contact page on the website we will see what we can do.
How great in speed is the Ethos compared to the Atlas?
And why didn't the Horizon Ultra get a mention?
ZamZam It did get a mention
We do carry One Drop yoyos, they just have not been putting keeping those yoyos in stock that we would prefer to carry.
That being said, we do discuss bearing size in the starter section of this video, because, at that point it will make an appreciable difference in terms of performance - assuming players are using the yoyos accorder to how they were designed.
when did he say that the sage's caps could come off
Chris let me try his Ethos at MWR, it is amazing!!!!!!!!!

The yoyos that can be both responsive and unresponsive
Do we still have to put loob
We recommend thin lube.
Hey yo tricks I have a magic yo yo k1. The string keeps slipping on to the screw during mid play. How do I solve this???
We haven't played with the K1 before, but you should make sure both halves are screwed together properly and all the way. If you have then we don't know what else you can do.
yotricks I have done that I have done yomega lube so im stuck but thanks for telling 😀
Can i order The Sage pack from Romania?
We ship to Romania, yes.
Which unresponsive would be better for A1 tricks ?
Can Oğan shutter or horizon if you are very good at unresponsive but sage pro pack if you are a beginner at unresponsive
if there were to be an instance where the civility gets a stripped axle, can you go to a hardware store and get a new nut to sit in there or is it stuck in there?
You can replace the nut and/or the bolt.
Thank You
