Jokes aside, what I meant is that the target of the content in the video isn't casuals, which are the ones that keep the game alive together with whales (not the animal lol), but lore enthusiasts.
It's not meant to sell a product to new possible customers, it's meant to hype fans.
don’t encourage the minimal content updates that keep you occupied for only a week
@@notjoosh8616 It's not like Adventures cancel out the main content drops like Sea Forts and PL voyages. I like Adventures way more than the old events, they keep the story going and the world evolving which is what I'm interested in. The older events surely kept you playing for more: Fishing 500 hundred splashtails, collecting 500 soul fragments or 250 favors. I prefer spending 1 hour doing something I enjoy instead ofr grinding hours for unique cosmetics just because of FOMO.
I value the quality of the time I spend in a game more than its amount. Today games are so accessible that it feels weird for people to cry when there's more games that they can play.
I encourage Adventures because they value my time over wanting to keep me playing the game by grinding stuff.
It's not like Devs can produce enough content to satisfy players at the same rate players consume content. They can't produce 1 month of content in 1 month, or 3 in 3, it takes more and to make the content last one month they bloat it or re-use stuff. I prefer playing one month and then leaving the game till the next update than waste my time on stretched content that Devs decide to put out so players craving for content won't cry. Ironic btw, players crying for content in an era where you can spend the equivalent of less than 2 AAA games on day one to get a Year of game pass.

Its interesting. It would seem we might be helping Wanda in some way on this adventure even though she is officially our enemy. It is also interesting to note that while she is a skeleton, she seems also to still care about her sister Wonda. Something also tells me that the masked person behind Wanda is Amaranta.
Helping? I think it may be more nudging so that the two big evils of flameheart and the dark brethren fight and we get stuck in the middle. The choice for the story therefore, as they said our choices would actually impact story, will be who would we rather win (flame or jones/cap’n) and have to fight?
I think Wanda and the other members of the brethren are interesting. They aren’t exactly our enemy. They’re bad people but more like outcasts than villains. The gold hoarder never did anything evil or acted out against us, he just attacked us because we barged into tribute peak uninvited. Sure Wanda did attack the outposts but her leaving flameheart definitely put her against him. The enemy of your enemy is your friend.
I hope we'll be able to unlock the costume of that character next to Wanda which I would assume is one of her followers.
Op thinks it’s amoranta judging by the mask that is a decent guess, as of course the reapers are loyal to flameheart so she would have to create a new uniform for her followers

I’d just like to point out how much I like the chatting between the two phantom guards and how well it gives them personality.
Almost makes me feel bad for all the phantoms I’ve killed at these forts
They aren’t necessarily killed, they are just sent back to the sea of the damned. This is why there is a commendation for killing phantoms named, “From whence they came” referring to sending them back to the sea of the damned.
Rare/SoT should honestly do a Animated Series through the game. A lot of them have been really good.

Possibly foreshadowing to how we ultimately defeat Flameheart?
I think it implies the skeleton curse, how many spirits were trapped inside their remains, like the skulls you bring to the order of souls, or the painting Sir Arthur Pendragon was trapped inside by The Skeleton Lord Captain GreyMarrow.
I guess it's implied that if they disobey, Flameheart will seal them inside an object to be trapped for eternity, meaning the Spanish ghosts are likely being forced to serve, not exactly willing participants. They seem to fear Flameheart's son, and do not exactly like him.
@@nitrolight1778 In the context of the trailer itself, you're absolutely right. That's probably what the ghosts are afraid of if they don't obey Flameheart.
I don't know if it was just because of the way the line was delivered, but from a meta perspective, it feels like the devs might be hinting at a way to defeat Flameheart in the future. Maybe not trapping him in his remains again since that didn't work. But a different method of imprisonment. Maybe somewhere within the Sea of the Damned itself. I'm just taking a shot in the dark here lol

That's pretty in depth, and I love it. Like Nitro, I figured they were just referring to "Wonda here is in a cage, but we better do what we're told because we can also be trapped in our own sort of cage." But to think the devs might have been taking that a step farther and saying "Binding a soul to an object isn't the only way to cage a soul" is real darned cool honestly. Nice work!

I love this! "There are many different ways to put someone in a cage" in this universe is a really neat line. We've seen this in tall tales, there is a fate worse than death on the Sea of Thieves... Having your soul trapped in something, like all of the skeleton Lords, and how Flameheart himself was trapped in his body. Also, no one seems to mention this, but Pendragon's crew was trapped inside a chest of rage as well. I'm really excited to see where this story is headed! Keep it up Rare!

This vide is probably some of the best story content every made on this channel. Not because it's telling a good story or something, but just because how much this is produced like a movie. I'd like some cutscenes like that in game too.
I'm thinking we're gonna have to work with the Dark Bretheren in order to save Wanda's sister, working with the lesser of two evils to stop the other. Also Flamehearts back in his physical form I'm assuming. Very excited for this next adventure and what may happen.

One thing me and a couple of friends of mine were talking about was what is they added smoke screens to the game , like something you fire out of the canons into the air that fogs up and area for a short period of time like 15-20secs

I'm thinking that Amaranta standing beside Wanda at the end. May be wrong, but I can't think of anyone else it might be, apart from maybe Gloria but that makes less sense. I guess we'll wait and see, she might just be a new character.
I'm fairly certain that's Amaranta. She's nowhere to be seen on the Sea Dog's outpost, and it's most likely she's signed on with the Dark Brethren.
You might be right about it being Amaranta but I was maybe thinking it could be Stitcher Jim, last we saw of him flameheart betrayed him and I believe we know that his transformation into an ashen lord failed but I might be wrong. I could see him fitting in well with the Dark Brethren but you might be right.

Yep, I'm 99% sure it's Amaranta but that mole has thrown us off before. There was a theory the Masked Stranger was Amaranta before she was confirmed to be Wanda.

I wonder if they will be expanding on forts somehow. Like I’m sure the prison cells will be something now but hopefully it’s deeper than that.
Before the cinematic dropped, I was hoping the jail cell might have been a way to get ritual skulls, but I doubt that's the case. Would have been nice tho.
I want to say YES. Notice no new titles or commendations for getting all the commendations in the new forts content.
Powder kegs are super effective on the fort by Galleon’s Grave. Unfortunately the fort captain got stuck in the wall under the stairs of the top room. A powder keg took him out but the key remained stuck in the wall at just a height where the ammo pouch could be collected from the stairs but the key was completely unreachable as there are crates under the stairs that don’t allow you to reach the wall. The key wasn’t visible from the outside of the building either. It was the top floor before going to the roof under the stairs closest to the pulley gate in the water. Fun time all other interactions with the fort though!

A few things to note. 1. Flameheart Jr. walks out of the door in the fort that we cant access (might play a roll later, or not who knows). 2. his eyes glow red when he speaks. Now granted this is not the case in game. However, the Reapers figurehead (the last one you get via rep) has the face mask taken off showing a single red glowing eye and a skeletal face underneath. The glow likely gives a nod to that. 3. The masked stranger #2 next to Wanda is likely Amaranta, due to the golden lipstick, the face mole (ironicly the same place) not to mention the sharp crested scowl on the mask to match the personality, and the red feathers poking out of the jacket likely dyed red after she left the sea dogs as a keepsake reminder of her hurt. We know Amaranta likely has an axe to grind, with ya know, the sea dogs closing down and what not and her personal disagreements with the twins. It would not be surprising that she joins Wanda in there own mini faction to work against there enemy's. Being Both Wanda and Amaranta have been betrayed in one way or another.

Technically the last time we saw flame hearts head in the sky was before the release of the shrouded islands adventure, which was a few weeks before the forts arrived on the seas. The phantom referred to flame heart as “the giant head in the sky” which means that the Spanish could’ve been in the sea of thieves long before season six. How would the Spanish know about flame hearts head/fleet if they weren’t around to see it.
I think flameheart was probably a giant head in the sky of the sea of the damned. Would explain how he was able to convince them to join him and bring them across.
