You're lucky, that you can paint etc in rentals in the US. It's not very common here in the UK, when renting privately, unless it's social housing
How is charcoal gray a "natural tone"? I'm frankly blown away at what $1,650 can get by way of a luxury high rise view apt. when studio apts. in NYC go for $2,500 with no amenities.
Younger people today have such unrealistic expectations about housing versus budget.
I'm a senior citizen. When I was young, we found a place we could afford to rent close to our desired neighborhood. Period. I don't remember anyone whining about carpets, closets, or views.
I'm also a senior. When I was younger, there weren't so many options, and landlords knew it. Now, I fully take advantage of those options. No whining, but strategic bargaining with my landlord was key (the carpeting is coming up this year). I love my 151 year old home. I love my landlord. The neighborhood is clean and quiet. The rent (inclusive) is reasonable.
Keep in mind that this episode is from like 15 years ago so it doesn’t reflect today’s generation. And a lot of these people were like almost 40 lol So they’d be closer to your age than someone who’s currently in their 20s.

First renters are just playing house ..he doesn't truly love her. If he did for really did he would MARRY THE GIRL!! he doesn't value the girl.and he has no respect for the girl. And she has no value or respect for herself that she wont set standards and healthy boundaries.
Oh, grow up! What, are you back with the pre-WW II morality police, preaching marriage as the only way to be "respectable"? Get real. Many couples today don't bother marrying before starting a family.
