Thank you so much! I have my own melodica, but have no one around me that can teach me about melodica. I've had to go through piano tutorials to help me progress, but it isn't the same. Please teach us scales, chords, harmonies, whenever you can. You are a good teacher, keep it up!

@@MelodicaWorld I'm playing very simple melodies right now, songs that most people would know how to play. But I want to learn how to play jazz, irish, and folk music. Those are the genres I really like.

I hadn’t thought about using a melodica like a guitar, in that you use the chords, but your breath is like the strum pattern.

I have a 25 key Hohner melodica, it belonged to my grandpa and I want to play it, but I am so confused. How do I mark the C,A and B etc etc?
Look for the a group of 3 black notes, find the black note in the middle, and play the white note immediately to the right. That's an A. The note to the right of that is a B, and to the right of that, a C, and son on. After you get to G, it doesn't go to H, it loops back to A. Notice that A is also inside the next 3 black note group. Does this help?

In the long run, would you prefer a 32 notes or a 37 one?
I like the size of the 32 note, but I need more notes for some tunes. So in the long run, I'll go for the 37

Hi. Thx for your videos and lessons. Have you any advice for the position of the teeth on the mouthpiece? I am a sax player a'and sometimes my teeth are aching due to the pressure. Is there this kind of problem with the melodica? Thx. Regards
You don’t need to use teeth on a melodica mouth piece :-)
I am a little bit confused. After A there should be "H", right - the black one before that should be the "B" note. Or is different with piano keys? [ (His)C, Cis/Des, D, Dis/Es, E(Fes), (Eis)F, Fis/Ges, G, Gis/As, A, Ais/B, H(Ces), (His)C ]
Melodicas the same as piano - A, A#, B, C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G#, A...

But if you play it with it in your lap with a tube, can't you play with both hands? Then you can play the base line with your left and melody with your right?
Yes, that's a great advantage of playing on your lap
@@MelodicaWorld I'm looking for an instrument to bring on wilderness whitewater river trips to accompany guitars which is what most people bring, believe it or not. (in waterproof protective cases) But I only know keyboard. I thought of a small one because you can do different sounds which would be great, but I think the batteries would run out and remember m there's no power out there. I never even heard of a melodic until I watched this video. What other options are there?

My Month Old Melodica had a off tune reed but when i came to tune it, another reed got bent into a 10° angle. Any tips or ideas? I would really like to preserve the melodica but i dont know how to fix this
It takes a bit of practice to tune the melodica without making things worse! Maybe you can gently bend the reed back? Sometimes once its been bent, its difficult to get it to sound properly, even when you get it back into shape
I don’t know if you mentioned this but is the first chord a G chord? Because I notice it wouldn’t make sense is A was the first chord
Are all melodicas like that?
@@rejecttiger Hi Tiger, on the instrument I'm playing in the video, it starts on a G. But different melodicas start on different notes. Many start on an F, or other notes. Does this help?
