Hello, Paul, I Love to watch your videos. I'm not a business owner but even though they don't sell franchises it is still hard for me to imagine how they control the quality at so many locations, no matter who owns or is managing it. Especially in this day and time of business owners having to beg for employees. I see it here in Bossier all the time.

Thanks very much, I'm glad you enjoy the videos! You are correct, the challenge is real. It seems that In-N-Out has such a great culture and pay and support their managers so much that they are bought into the vision. When the manager is given authority, responsibility, ACCOUNTABILITY, and reward (bonus based on performance) that seems to do the trick! But I know it is a bigger challenge then ever to provide a great experience in a restaurant these days. What kind of word do you do... and why do you like these videos? Thanks very much!

@@therealpaulreiser I worked for the Bossier Fire Dept. for 29 years. I think we were actually neighbors at one time on Turnbury Dr. I retired as the Chief of Communications. in 2015 and I worked as a Paramedic for several years for WK. I really like the variations of subject matter in your videos. I've always had a healthy respect for business owners, especially those in the food industry. That's a tough industry to be sucessful in.

They opened up an In-N-Out near me in Texas. They have bland burgers; Wendys has better burgers. I just dont get the hype.
It is reported they have 387 restaurants. You always see a lot of people that love waiting at their restaurant. The one by me always has their drive through line with 30+ cars that back up blocking the road. You do have to wonder why they built new stores without 2 drive through lines or without someway to manage the traffic. New Chick-fil-a restaurants all have two lanes and they bought extra space around their restaurants to make long drive through lanes that wrap around with workers that manage the traffic to not block the road. Workers walk around to take orders from tablets along with allowing people to order online so customers can order while waiting. They are really efficient at getting the line through faster.

I agree! As great as they are, they could benefit from emulating Chick-Fil-A’s drive thru innovations. Thanks for the comment 👍🏻 However, the goal of this video is to show that they do things differently than everyone else. It is our first response to look at those differences and say they are doing it wrong... but their results are twice as good as Chick Fil A's, and 6X as good as the average QSR... so maybe everyone else is crazy?

Paul, once again, another great video. I love that they break all the rules. You would know much better than I do, but do you think these rules are really ones to follow, because they are guidelines for success, or is it simply because everyone else does it that way? I also like that Lynsey Snyder isn't politically correct, and that she is open about her past issues. I think it is especially positive, because the restaurant industry, more than almost any other, deals with a higher percentage of employees going through what she has dealt with. It is just one more way she is giving back.

Hey @dougwhitehead8359, thanks for this thoughtful comment! 1. I think her guidelines are successful because they stress serving others rather than being selfish. They are counterintuitive for most businesses. 2. I'm not sure the restaurant employees have a higher incidence of these kinds of problems, but they do have less resources to deal with them. So she is definitely doing a tremendous service for her teams!

Hey Paul, I love the content! How do I get you to mentor me?! 😅

Hey Shideler, Thanks very much! You have a great variety of knowledge, if you choose any of the subjects on your channel you could grow it. Probably the RV rental subject could go well, but the fix it space is also an option. I don't know what I could mentor you in... but I am honored you would ask! Thanks for checking out my videos and taking the time to comment!
