I saw they are making a ned rig with an offset hook for heavy cover. I’ve always thought about making a trip and just focusing on big lay downs, fishing them out slowly from down stream instead of the normal 2 casts as you drift by lol
A few companies already have them. Zman is one that comes to mind. Small, stout hook for their trd plastics. I've been thinking about them for finessing redfish but you just gave me an idea.
Update: I was on the major feed time, I did tear into them pretty good! Put about 19 pounds in the boat (not 5 fish) and lost at least another 6 pounds.
I've got deer hunting on the brain right now but that looks like a very good spot to fish! A few weeks ago I went fishing and the ones I caught were so tiny that it made yours look like trophies lol
I can't get into deer hunting with 85 degree days. All the lows in the 40s next week has me excited to get in the treestand. Sadly those rivers always produce dinks for me, they are so pretty to fish I don't care.
I fish up past 98 a lot and still wind up with small fish. It's clear up there often and I still rarely see a decent one swimming. I don't know why that is.
with the weather cooling off would love to see a catch, cook, clean, camp video. i love camping on the water but with kids and work lately its just hard to get out there!
been watching your vids for a while ... put a down payment on my boat to be built a few weeks ago should be ready by end of year(or early next)... I spend time in the florida panhandle anyway. so now I have another reason to visit. Mine will have a outboard motor on it instead of a mud motor. what rivers in the panhandle are deep enough for a outboard? (i will have a shallow tunnel will some pods on the back. so I should be able to go relatively shallow.)
Thanks for watching, plenty of rivers around here for that type of boat. The Suwannee, Santa fe, St mark's, Wakulla just to name a few. There are obviously many rivers with bad rock shoals to avoid as well. Withlachoochie, wacissa, Aucilla are a few I'd avoid unless you know exactly where you are going.
@@JerkofAllTradesTLH you got that right, we just about couldn't get the boat on the trailer a few weeks ago. Last year the trailer fell off the end of the ramp, it was a chore getting it out. That ramp ends way to soon.

@@marcusyoung2870 I saw a guy sight fishing redfish with a trd craw!
@@MrBp8888 Yep that's the idea. Some other trd plastics and the new goat lure in the baby size that they're coming out with look promising too
Great video so glad to see a fellow youtuber using a hat cam. Rock on.
Yes it was requested by viewers, I use to use a chest mount but my hands would get in the way.
I love that river.
It's beautiful no doubt, but always full of tiny bass. I've never caught a decent size one there.
@@TKOutdoors we really need to get you fly fishing.
Man I think about it sometimes, but I just love throwing a baitcaster. I don't know if I could put it down.
Going in the morning can’t wait!! It’s been a minute
Best of luck, hope you tear them up!

Very nice, lake or river fishing? Care to share the lure?
Good Ol river fishing, bulky spinnerbait that I made mostly, caught some decent fish on the whopper plopper too

I know exactly where you are, One of my favorite rivers!
I love fishing it, just always produces dinks. Did you go today? How was the fishing?
@@TKOutdoors I went out with the wife cruising off the coast on my other boat.
I always go further up river past 98. I tend to get alittle more size by doing that.
We did the same on the river, just cruising.

I have been thinking about doing a similar trip, minus the over night stay. At least until the mosquitoes DIE! LOL we need a frost bad!

@@TKOutdoors St Marks has a couple dicey spots upstream, too! Best advise is to go at low tide and run easy to find all the bad laydowns!
Yes correct, but way upstream. Definitely watch the tide, it influences this river heavily, even many miles upstream.
@@TKOutdoors aaaaannnd if you put in a Newport, watch the tide, getting out a low tide is not super fun.
