I have one suggestion though. I had a lot more trouble than you did getting the nuts off the track rod end ball joints. Despite cleaning up the the rust on the exposed threads as far as was possible they both started spinning. On the first one I used an impact driver and thought it was coming off OK but it started spinning. Unable to stop it by putting a clamp on it I eventually had to use a nut splitter to get the nut off. I did the other one by hand but still had the problem. The nut splitter didn't work as well this time due to the flange on the nut and I eventually had to saw it off with a Makita reciprocating hacksaw blade which worked very well; I wish I'd used it earlier as it would have saved a lot of time and new track rod ends aren't expensive. However it was only when I had it off and in my hand that I realised there was a hole in the bottom of the bolt to take a torx key. I don't know if all the different makes of track rod end have that but it would certainly be worth checking as a torx key might well have been enough to stop it rotating. I think it would be worth a mention in the video.

I have a vectra 1.9 2008. I took out my driveshat (passenger side) to replace the gaiter as it was ripped. After putting it back in the inner shaft keeps popping out from the gearbox when driving for no more than 6 miles. I centered the retainer clip and even whacked the shaft in and still pops out whilst driving. This happened few times now. I’m about to give up. Any advise appreciated. Thanks.
Check that u haven’t got a damaged engine mount. The other thing to do is to un clip the small end of the boot, just incase the boot is to tight and is pulling the cv out

The car was driving fine until the point where I decided to initially replace with a new one (as explained in my initial comment). With te engine mounts, I mean If this was the case then would have caused the shaft to come out before even trying to replace no?. I think it’s all about the clip that locks in the transmission. Because that’s the only thing that will lock in place. Do you think inside the transmission seating or what ever it’s called May have been damaged so that it has lost its function to secure the clip inside?
Hi the other side is similar but U will need to remover the drive shaft from the gear box so u will loss gear box oil So u will need to refill the gearbox after
Hi mate, Is this the same process for every vectra ? I have a 57 plate Vauxhall Vectra C 1.9 cdti 120 bhp. I took it to kwik fit today because driver side wheel emits a droning noise they said they didn't see anything unusual other than the drive shaft carrier bearing require replacement. thanks
Hello mate yer it should be the same for most vec :) make shore u got some nice lever bars and plenty of rubber gloves for the cv grease gose ever where lol Also it could still be a front wheel bearing for its hard to get the wheels to spin fast because of the drive shafts But once u have pulled the shaft out of the wheel u should be able to spin it fast enough to hear the bearing :)
Or the other y to check if its a bearing it to take it for a drive and when it starts humming as u turn left and right the noise should get louder as the wait of the car transfers from side to side and if the noise get louder when u turn right it's the left bearing and if it gets noiser when u turn left its the right side bearing
Hi... Great instruction video, my question is, I've got a zafira B 2006 manual gearbox, my alternator brushes are suspect, and it looks like I have drop the drivers drive sharft off, question? Do I need to remove both ends of the drive sharft or will it pull out of the gearbox as It looks like the pulley and tensioner has to be removed to allow the alternator to drop out, being disabled I've tried to get someone else to do it but nobody wants to do it. I'd be grateful any information you can help me with. Thanks Regards Richard...
@@richardcottenham7 hello I no when iv taken the alternators off the 1.8 befor iv never had to remove the drive shaft :) for its right at the back normally I take the scuttle panel out below the window and open the engine bay right up :) I also think if I remember right u can get it out of the top if u remove the scuttle panel :)

@@richardcottenham7 I done one about 1 year ago on a 1.8 2003 and I'm prity shore I took it out the top its tight tho also the is a braket at the top that has to be moved out the way and u have to take the bottom braket out to for u can't get the bottom bolt out for it hits the iner wing if I remember right :)

Also it could still be a front wheel bearing for its hard to get the wheels to spin fast because of the drive shafts
But once u have pulled the shaft out of the wheel u should be able to spin it fast enough to hear the bearing :)
