At the end of the day, do it for yourself and damn what everyone thinks. Confidence goes a long way, especially if you exercise, dress well, smell good, and groom yourself.
I gotta say I agree, popped into my head just this past weekend to shave my head bald and I never thought I'd love it as much as I do, the wife goes absolutely crazy for it too!! Amen man!!

The wahl balding shears are my favorite... It cuts the closest to me without having ingrown hairs... when I use a razor, I get ingrown hairs consistently. The balding shears seem to cut closer than just average shears you would buy at Walmart or something. The teeth are designed specifically for balding your head. Just throwing that out there for everyone. Good video!

Nice tutorial man, but you should check out the Leaf razor. It gives a more comfortable shave than a safety razor and an even closer shave, but still uses DE razorblades that you just snap in half.
We are trying to teach my youngest son how to maintain a bald head. His receding hairline has left the building😩🤣. What tools do you recommend purchasing for beginners, we don’t want him to ruin his skin. Thanks for the post.
A set of balding clippers should be enough to start. It's not really necessary to head after using those...more of a personal preference. If he does want to use a razor, I would start off with the safety razor. It is more difficult to use than a multi blade razor, but he'll be better off learning with it in the end.

I get 6 shaves with double edged safety razor blade and I like to use shaving soap and brush and in 40 years I have never used a mirror, just the way I like to do it
A bald patch is an honour, sure keep short hair but embrace who you are. Stop being so worried about what people think. It is what is on the inside that counts.

It is just part of being a man, at the end of the day it is absurd the degree of worry men have over some missing hair. Embrace who you are instead of trying to hide it. If people judge you for it, they are just insecure and most likely trying to shift attention from themselves and their inability to see beyond the surface.

As long as you shave your head that often, you don't need to use the clippers. I shave mine with a razor 2x a week. I use the clippers when I go a bit longer.
Started going bald at 17 and shaving my head since 23. I'm 36 now and the more hair I lose the quicker I can shave it when it comes back lol. I use shaving cream and shower afterwards so it takes me longer
Do those safety razors cause bumps on the back of the neck? I’ve had a run in with straight razors messing my neck up I’m kinda skeptical of using the safety razor but I want that clean smooth look and feel. So does my wife 😂

Yeah, I don't think most people do. If you don't the quality of the shave goes down, and you're more likely to irritate your skin. For me that increased the likelihood of getting razor bumps.
Ben, do you use sunscreen or some similar product on your head? The sun can be pretty intense here in México and although I like using hats, sometimes headgear is not practical. I'd appreciate your advice on this. Nice square beard btw!
Thanks! I use sunscreen when I know I'll be outside for a while when it's hot out. If I don't worse case scenario is I'll get sunburn and peel. I use SPF 20 or higher.
I'm definitely thinking about doing the BIG cut. My hair isn't really growing every since I moved west. The dry weather drys my hair out really bad. I can wash my hair then few days later it's dirty. 😭😭😭. Love the tutorial.

Do you really need the clipper with only a weeks growth? I've watched other guys take down a full beard with just a safety razor, sharp blade, and a really slick, artisan style shave soap. I myself have gone a week on my face, just to bring it down with the Muhle R41 by itself, no problem.
@@Airths1 - Hmm. A great blade like the Polsilver S.I., or one of the sharper Gillette's, wouldn't have much problem with anything you mentioned, though. Both of those blades are super sharp, and smoooth. If you're using an efficient mild to moderate razor, there should'nt be much irratation.... if any, at all. Ben may have a point about cleaning as you go but, I still think a clipper with his length of growth, is a bit redundant.

I agree but not all men loose hair. It's not a given you can prevent it by supplementing and taking care from an early age post teens

I used to use clippers when I first shaved my head. Now, I just use a razor 2 or 3 times a week when I'm in the bath/shower. Much easier.

No, I started using safety razors and you just need to work on your technique.

Hey quick question. Did you shave with the grain or against the grain. When i use a razor for a closer shave i get bumps everywhere so i stopped.
I shave with grain. If I go against the grain I'm more likely to get bumps.

You don't have to. It's just a longer process, because you have to clean the blade more often. That can get a bit annoying after a while.
