I always use the Catrice Illuminating setting spray after I apply foundation and concealer, before powder. Then I use an under eye powder (Pat McGrath- was a gift from my BFF!) to set my concealer, then a VERY light dusting of the Elf Halo Glow powder for the face. I apply a small amount to a large, fluffy brush and press it into the skin! I am 60, and this works on my mature skin!
Thank you for addressing the concealer "hacks" and popular ways of applying concealer! I always wondered if it truly made make up look weirder in person as that was my experience but it looks amazing in photos!
Yeeesssss! Thank you got the reminders of: 1) use the right product and tool for your skin and application. 2) no need to use an excessive amount of product. 3) hydrate or use a fixer mist between layers.
Thank you for this valuable video. I totally agree with everything you've said, which is why I take my skin care very seriously, including the use of exfoliation and actives.. I find that for me this is the best way to keep my skin looking and feeling super smooth and soft. Thank you for also talking about dermaplaning, this makes a HUGE difference to your skins texture I love the way my skin feels after this process and how well my skin care products soak into my skin afterwards. I actually don't wear foundation as I don't like to cover up how clear my skin is. I wish more people take notice of this video and how well you explain everything. Thank you for doing this video, it's so important and yet so often neglected. Sending you much love from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤️
I’ve always read that dermaplaning should only be done professionally. I’ve always been too scared to try it, thinking my hair will grow back blacker and thicker.
I completely agree with and it WILL make 💯% difference in your skin is PREP!! Make sure your skin is exfoliated and shaven! These TWO things ALONE will make SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE! Give it a go GORGEOUS 😘💜
I’m now 65 and find that less can be more for textured skin. I have on and off rosacea flare ‘s that leaves me at times bumpy. I think concealer on first is best . Recently I’ve been using your techniques and they’re WONDERFUL ❤. Especially hooded eye placement and color like your recent nudes tutorial is ideal for my skin now. Many thx
Great tips! This is a addressing huge problem. A natural look is always better and makes you look younger. People should not be able to tell you have foundation on-👍🏻
Thanks Smitha foe this videos it is very helpful. I use Fit me compact powder after applying concealer as I don't use foundation. it sets completely even tone skin . I use setting spray lastl. For 20 hours it remains same without any foundations
Smitha, as usual, you've hit it out of the park with a nice deep dive! I (we) need your help! Graduation season is upon so many of us here in India and I've searched high and low and haven't found a brown-skin friendly graduation tutorial that fits Indian contexts (as you know, graduation ceremonies here work a little differently). I'm on the lookout for a makeup look that's simple, formal, elegant, and most importantly, which photographs well while looking good off camera and is easy and cheap to put together. Of course, any gyaan on makeup and fashion from your graduation and college years would be much appreciated too. I hope you can come up with a tutorial!
Skin care makes such a difference. I noticed that when I get lazy it really shows. Moisturizing my oil skin seems counter-intuitive but it actually help. Also just taking a break from wearing make up and giving your skin a breather There is also new foundations with skin care in it that seem to work better. But Wish Laura Mercier still made their loose powder foundation. Anyone know where i might be able to find it...specifically.. Looked everywhere and online. THANKS!
Thanks for your video, actually i also stopped using make up products i just tried foundation for the first time in my cousin wedding but it didn't worked for me it was so nice when i see indoor but when i see in outside my face looked like some layer i have applied, it's better go with some bb creams or cc creams always natural look will be better and best😊
I find that if I'm not careful about ensuring complete coverage of my foundation, I get more appearance of skin texture. I'm going to try your methods for this, thank you!!!
I also have noticed that traditional setting sprays containing alcohol sometimes actually cause my foundation to break up, become patchy, and cling to texture. unfortunately they are also the only way I can get my makeup to last all day if needed. but on normal days I just skip setting sprays now!
I look horrible with any foundation, so I avoid it in the first place, occasionally I conceal my undereyes Now i dont use colour correctors cz cnt blend products well So I use nude lipstick pinkish some dots under eyes nd blend it and thn apply concealer on top of it , wrks best fr me
Very nice video Smitha! Thanks for the tips! I use before years compact powder but i didn't like one my face and i stop to use them! I use only loose powder! They looks more nice one my face! I use them only with brush! Have a nice day! 👍👏🤩🤩🤩
I have oily skin but I'm going to try that hydrating mist. I just used a matte foundation and I normally love this foundation but I felt that it looked a little too matte and I was just thinking that I maybe should have added a hydrating mist to it. Usually I need everything to matte when I wear my thin foundations. I use thr setting spray sandwiching technique. Thanks for the tips in this video!
Thank you so much! I have very large pores and it’s always been a struggle to making them less apparent. I’ve been wondering about trying some new types of makeup. Will definitely look into this! ❤
@@saraal-jaradi7319 A lot of people have that. I’ve never had that in my life. I’m so sick of looking dried out and trust me when I say this, no amount of products for skin care has ever really worked out for me. I bought very high end and I’ve tried the cheaper ones as well. I just have super sensitive skin that’s hard to work with.
Heya - for those who don't use liquid or cream foundations and use a powder foundation instead - will there be a difference to the textured skin? Also, the correct application for a powder foundation. I use the Colorescience SPF and then apply powder foundation. How do I do this correctly, please? 😊
Hello Smitha I’m Rhonda from Atl Georgia I love the way that you explain things. Some of us are really self conscious and you make me feel good with your explanations. Thank you please keep the videos coming ❤️
Great tips! Do you have any advice to deal with an excessively sweaty face other than with botox? It's the only thing I know would stop my nightmare rofl
I used to use antiperspirants for my face. 3B make one called "facesaver gel" and "no more sweat" make one for the face and scalp. You can usually find these with the deodorants in the larger chemists 🙂
I am confused by the amount of tatcha spray you used. Do you recommend using this much or was this a blooper? I have this product and though it is a mist it makes my hair and clothes wet and I use very little. Very pretty look and lots of good info and tips -thanks!
Great tutorial so many wonderful tips ❤ I do these exact things also for a more glowing skin I mix my foundation with some liquid highlighter it looks beautiful I always apply a moisturizer and an eye cream before anything then a primer with sunscreen I have dry skin so the products just sink in so fast love 💕 ya girl
Smitha....love❤❤❤ ur videos...well, last time I made the mistake of applying compact over my matte tinted sunscreen/beige tone up cream and it ended up looking textured and dry skin. Can you please suggest what to do that time to make it normal ,i.e. texture-free flawless again??? Should i try face mist or makeup setting spray then to bring back it flawless?
Love you lots... Because you're from Bangalore. Can you suggest a good drugstore stippling brush for foundation,. Somehow none of the brushes I've got so far do the job... Leaves streaky marks, no coverage, etc. Pls help! ❤
This is a great video. Thanks for sharing the tips that are helpful. In my case, I feel when I contour my face, it looks better than when I don’t. What could be the reason.
do you have any more affordable recommendations for a hydrating mist that is compatible with makeup? tatcha is out of my price range, and I've had varied results with other skincare mists. some of them seem to work with makeup, but others have totally ruined my makeup.
Personally I have a lot of blackheads on my nose and cheeks and no matter how much or often I remove them and try to close those pores with a toner, I am unable to. I think I need to invest in a better skincare to arrest this problem but I also haven't found THE foundation or concealer which works best for me. I did raid my local Sephora store in West Bengal to no avail. I am so clueless when it comes to makeup that I even stopped trying and just put on a mask and go on with my day. Its frustrating but I can't help it.
