Thank you Smitha! As a 55 year old woman, I’ve learned so much from you! You make makeup application so much easier with amazing tips! We over 50 ladies also love your videos!! 50 is the new 30…Lol 😂❤
Mission accomplished!!! You were the only one I came across that explained “benefit” + “best practice” + “achieved outcomes “ and mother’s adage “nothing beats a failure but a try and try again”. Thank you for this share.
I think as as an over 50 woman, baking may not be the greatest choice. I’ve seen a few people comment here that it does nothing but accentuate wrinkles. Baking does nothing but dry your skin out. It’s not some thing that I want to do in my skin care and make up routine, but for much younger people I think this is wonderful. Thank you Smitha for this video. Such passion and work behind what you do and we all appreciate it I know, because it does produce the results that we ultimately want!❤
@ushashrilakshmin3231 you can set it with a light dusting of powder with a brush. Or you can take a powder puff, dip it in powder, tap it on the back of your hand to even out the powder on the puff, and then press it on to your under eye/skin. Make sure to blend out creases with a brush or warm ring finger before applying the powder over.
I tried baking when it first came on trend around 2015 - even the sephora/ultra muas were doing it on their customers regularly back then - but I found that baking only turned my under-eye fine-lines into full fledged wrinkles. Your tutorial here is essentially 2 fine layers of powder instead of 1 heavy layer of powder. I will def give your technique a try. Thank you for the tip, as well as for your whole channel!
Im 39 and have ALWAYS wanted to know how to bake but was too scared to 😂. I thought it would make me look older instantly. I watched your video and followed your instructions, and my makeup looked amazing all day yesterday! Thank you so much! I can't wait to try all your other tips and tricks ❤❤
I have tried baking only once, and I think I did not prep my skin adequately, and probably applied more powder than I should have. I gave up on baking after that first botched attempt, but after watching your video today, I think I will try this out once more! Thank you, Smitha! ❤
😮😮 i have been so scared to bake, but I always wanted to do it!! I've been looking for a baking video for a LONG time to explain how to do this!! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much, Smitha! I have had so many bad makeup days trying to bake unsuccessfully 😢. I tried your process and it's game changing! I've learned so many great techniques from you. Thank you!
I’m so impressed with this, I’ve never heard of baking. It makes a lot of sense to dust lightly. I’m older with lines around my mouth so I don’t use the matte look! I thought a dewy look is better for us oldies. I will try it around my eyes, it’s so difficult to get a smooth finish, this should be great for creases in the concealer , can’t wait to try it. Thx!🌹
I used to be scared of baking so much that i never tried until recently when i was like, not anymore. If i want to up my makeup game i need to get to it! And OMG what difference it brings to my makeup! Its a must try...
Yet another fantastic video. I would like to see your studio setup, how you arrange, manage and rotate makeup products, clean brushes etc. I just have a very small subset of products that any MUA can own and its all over. I'm fed up !!!
I use lotion, sunscreen, primer but I sweat on my upper lip, chin, nose and forehead profusely because of the medication I am on not sure if it's because I'm in my 30s now but it ruins my makeup and melts it off and makes it blotchy, and it gets cakes. I use so many makeup tips from you that have worked though, I will try less powder I'm just frustrated with the sweating especially on my upper lip.
Thank you so much for the tip my concealer got patchy last weekend and also color corrector was visible i will follow these steps in the video.....thank you so much love your videos❤❤❤❤
When i was new to makeup , i used to think baking is essential to set the makeup because everyone used to do it but it never suited me and even tho I don’t even have that many fine lines it just accentuated them out of nowhere and made me look old , i think baking might be suitable for full glam looks only , i just use little setting powder on a small brush and it’s all set for me
you're just perfect ❤....your small tricks make big difference in makeup .....I don't know what happen with my skin .....my makeup become oxidize always nd show texture .......but I'll try this then told you 😊
I struggle with my makeup looking cakes & patchy. I will try this technique. I tend to want a matte look and to not have my makeup transfer. The struggle is real!
Hi it's lovely watching you, will you please make a video on puffy eyes make up ....I mean how to reduce puffiness on undereyes by doing tricks of makeup... Waiting for your reply.
Thank you for this life saving video because this is one which helps us in daily basis... Making more natural look.... And can u do a video on makeup or fashion evolution through out the years... You know it would be kinda fun...
ahhhhhhhhhhh ok so thats what this baking stuff is all about.....flawless under eye area and to define. i remember a lot of video gals in the 90s doing what i now know to be baking. looks like nicki minaj bakes with a VERY bright under eye area im guessing. youre tips here made it so much more understandable and do-able! thank you!
First time I learn about the " baking" technique. Love it❤ Will try it one day on special occasion. Thank you Smitha 💖🥰 You're a great teacher !! 🎉👏🏼👏🏼
Very informative and useful video Smitha!! Thank you for this. I can completely see the difference. Will be using this technique. You’re awesome!! Much love hunni!! 💙🦋🕊️💋🫶🏽
Thank you! Baked since long before the baked term came about and this is a great tip. But how do you get the lotions and foundations to dry so you could move on??? I been using tinted moisturizer /cc cream (bare minerals then R&F) and these products never seem to dry, especially with a humid climate. How do you work with the tackiness to move to baking or the next steps?
Yes me too when i baked it become patchy then i do same remove makeup and then do all same process it becomes very difficult thanku ma'am you help alot i do try your tip and tricks
hi, i just finished watching your video on face baking. your makeup looks absolutely flawless! I am in my 70's and have a hyperpigmentation spot that I have to cover. I've been color correcting follow by foundation and then setting powder. at times it will look cakey and the fine lines will come through. So frustating! My foundation is full coverage in order to cover the area. I went from Nars color corrector and foundation to Dermablend Flawless Creator foundation without doing the color correcting. You always have good makeup tips. by the way, thanks for reapplying your makeup again on the right side so we can see it again. Help! how should I do it without my makeup looking cakey? maybe baking is not good for my age? a little less powder maybe?
It’s a good explanation, but what powder are you using to set your face before you bake? Are you using the same powder that you picked with to your face?
I had the same question, so I reviewed the image of the ‘powder’ to see if it appears to be the same powder container .. IMPO it is. I also I clicked onto “more” for Products used in this tutorial (in order): the list of products does not have two names of powder. I hope this helps.

What would u do to fix it apart from baking
@@ushashrilakshmin3231I don't know ? That's the problem lol

try to use most identical foundation and loose powder to your skin because if you are sweat to much it dont effect your discolouration..

Hello, from Tucson🌵
I'm trying out today .
Tucson is very hot during the summers my face cakes all the time .
Hey smitha! Should i use makeup fixer after these steps or can i skip it?
It’s a good explanation, but what powder are you using to set your face before you bake? Are you using the same powder that you picked with to your face?

I was definitely making this mistake.
Just found you & love your info!!
I stopped baking because it looked cakey. To counter react the cakey patchy I used to use foundation powder till I just finally gave up on baking.
L❤VE IT! Thanks Smitha ! BTW You have a great smile! 🙂❤
As always marvelous.❤
