Yeah, they should instead exclude race but include socioeconomic status & family history. So if their parents used to be slaves (because they can't get education to teach their children if the children ask questions about certain school subjects) or in poverty because of past colonialism and somehow their children achieve high grades or won competitions, they should get a boost because of that instead of what their race is.
