Thank you for the video, I have the same Nissan maxima and Im going to replace the head gaskets, intake gaskets and injectors and water pump, any tips?
I'm currently working on my 2006 Nissan Maxima. I just bought the car about 3 months ago and its a lemon. So one-by-one main components start breaking down, so I started replacing as they break down. Now that I've replace most main organs, it comes down to electrical. So now my car is pretty much completely gutted. So far I've, took out most of the dashboard, took out all of the shifter in the middle, took out the airbag box by the shifter. And completely removed everything to the bare wire. just so I can chase the wires. I've done entire body except for steering wheel dash cause scared to set off air bag even tho I've completed removed the battery. I need help with dis assembling the front dash and chasing wires in to the engine. Please help I need advice and opinion.
I have a yellow orange pin about an inch long. Tore the engine for an over haul. I don't know where this pin goes. It's plastic. It fell out when I was taking the tensioner from the head. In that area. Some else pulled the engine si I don't know if it came from somewhere else. Do you happen to know where a yellow orange pin goes? Thanks in advance.
I have an 09 Murano and I'm having a fuel rail either pressure or voltage problem.. Something is Low. And it's causing my vehicle to buck and sounds like an exhaust leak.. She still cranks and wants to go. But something is holding it back. And I'm at a lose.. Have no idea how to go about fixing it. Never had to work with the fuel line.. It's always been something else..
Any idea how to go about replacing the coolant hose underneath the lower intake manifold, on the driver's side near the knock sensor. Or rather if there are any shortcuts like the one for the knock sensor. Glad i have fed emissions so it's not that cluttered. Started leaking pretty bad right before my pizza shift. Nothing like throwing blankets over the radiator to refill in between deliveries lol
This video is quite helpful even tho i have a Nissan Cefiro A33 2.0 instead of this Maxima 3.0 (I live in Malaysia btw. Car is from 2002 with 223,000km ). I'm hearing some kind of a faint vacuum leak from underneath the upper intake runner near the timing chain side. The engine idle can be a bit erratic sometimes which I suspect it's the vacuum leak causing the issue. Would you recommend for someone with no automotive background but knows how to use wrenches & such, to try and take out the upper intake to replace its gaskets? Plus most of the vacuum hoses need replacing since they've turned mushy & plasticky like you said. OEM replacement hoses might be almost impossible to get nowadays so maybe I can get a roll of those Samco silicon hose for replacement? (cut to size)
I have a vacuum squeal in my 1997 maxima. I was told by a mechanic it is the intake manifold gasket but you didn't address the gasket. Do you think I got good advice? I have kept my car running for 350k since I bought it new in 1997. I wouldn't want to tear it apart if the squeal is not coming from the manifold gasket. Have you heard of this? The car runs great and the squeal stops when the throttle is engaged. I only hear it after it warms up and while idling. Great info on your videos. thanks for sharing.
Based on your description, you definitely have a vacuum leak. Unfortunately, the only way to verify that its coming from the gasket would be to look it over. If that’s what the mechanic that looked at it said, I’d trust it. You can try using propane enrichment to find the source of your vacuum leak. Take the end of a propane torch and turn the valve on but don’t light it. Start the engine and run the unlit torch along any vacuum lines and the intake plenum. When the propane hits the leak, the engine will suck it in and it will burn as fuel, causing engine speed to increase.
Hi mat i have 01 se max stuck in limp mode ...ob2 says maf...I've tried 3 different maf brands ..checked endless ly for vacation leaks .... y limp mode just y please

Good video and really good tip about the compressed air. Thanks for posting.
Hey Mathew I'm having a problem finding the fuel rail pressure sensor on my 2005 Nissan Maxima 6 speed manual transmission.
Thank you very much, you saved me about 400 bucks. I would have said 600 but I broke some stuff along the way 😅
Oh I know how that goes! Glad it helped you out though.
Great video with some really cool details. Thanks.
What’s that bronze component on the end of the fuel rail? My hose is split on that.
Fuel pressure regulator dampener
The smaller one is for vacuum the larger connecting part is for fuel
Did not cover the fuel injector port?

Did you relieved air from the fuel rail with a fuel pressure gauge?
Is this the same for a 2003 maxima?

Hi, Matt:
Mine is '98 Infiniti. I lost a spacer under fuel rail bolt. Can I use crush washers instead?
