    Only $395 for a work bench? Yeah, Nick's 'Wow' told you all you need to know about that. Built my own years ago, and all it cost me was time.

      Time is money.
      Plus you need tools and material.
      Not everyone has a surplus of all three of those and so they buy work tables to do all kinds of things.
      Not everyone that uses work tables is a carpenter...

      My work bench also came from home Depot but it was about 100$ in the lumber section. I could have built it with a miter box and a hand drill if I didn't have a chop saw

    I love how Martha Stewart, miss home project, is completely oblivious to how any of this is done. Also, notice Nick Offerman's disgust at her constant and forced attempts at product placement. If ever there was a model for a phony, it's Martha Stewart and being next to someone so sincere only reinforces that image.

      Jonathan Rivera "home project" sums up a lot of things but woodworking is very hard to master and not a lot of people really know what they're talking about so don't judge a learner. Also if you get something for free from a company, you give them a plug to keep relations strong

    I had wandered if he really does wood work as he does on Parks n Rec. Now I know its not just an act. He's a Kool Dude on the show and I'd love to hang out with him and ignore each other as is his passion to do to people. One episode when his shop was out of code like everything was a danger of death he tried to bribe the inspector (Mark maybe I forgot his name) with an awesome strip canoe. I've wandered since that eppisode if he really built it? since watching the show I've quadrupled my red meat and egg intake.

    • @abrindley123
      @abrindley123 6 років тому +2

      Early on in development of the show, the P+R team actually kept calling Nick and he would repeatedly say things like "let me just switch off this saw" and other things to do with his shop, so they eventually went out to visit his shop and decided that they should put this part of Nick's personality into the character of Ron.

    I hope he feels bad about making a beavertail.

    • @alexander.angell
      @alexander.angell 3 роки тому

      What's wrong with a beavertail? I mean personally I use an Algonquin pattern which is based on the ottertail, but the beavertail is good too.

    • @imgoingforawalk1693
      @imgoingforawalk1693 3 роки тому

      @@alexander.angell Might just be personal preference, but I find they're more energy-intensive to use on a lake, compared to dedicated lake paddles, but don't provide any extra power. The beavertail is more multi-purpose and can be used in shallows and sets, but I'd much rather just carry around a dedicated whitewater paddle and a dedicated lake paddle.
      If you're at all curious, I use the Modified Special paddle design from this paddle-maker: images.app.goo.gl/RGcbsL1WfPdPNWNg9

    • @alexander.angell
      @alexander.angell 3 роки тому

      @@imgoingforawalk1693 I think it is mainly preference, my friend uses his beavertail a lot more than his ottertail because where we paddle it's fairly shallow so since most of the surface area is lower down it accelerates better and you get more power if you can't get the whole blade in the water. I've been meaning to make myself a beavertail for a while now, so I'll probably do that before going back to university. Haha I'm surprised you replied to the comment, I saw after posting my reply that you posted the comment 3 years ago. The one criticism I have of nicks paddle is that he had a big ridge in the middle going half way down the blade which I find makes the paddle less nice to use solo.
