  • Most paddles break with a split on a glue seam at the paddle end, then get tossed away. You can save these paddles by making this simple clamping jig and gluing up the break. Let me show you how it's done!

    I just picked up a couple of old paddles for 5 bucks each. They need some splits fixed and revarnishing, so this was perfect. Thank you!

    Well done, wonderful information. I love the old school Spanish Windlass clamp...old as the technique is it's still relevant and as effective any current clamping technology. Do you feel the glue alone is strong enough or would a fibreglass covering make it stronger?

      Fiberglass would defiantly make this very strong. the glue is still holding this paddle together
