I honestly don't think there's ever been a more promising band that "shot themselves in the foot" more than Guns N' Roses in the history of rock music.
Guns N Roses could have been bigger than the Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, or even the Beatles, Axl's erratic behavior, Izzy, Slash, and Duff leaving the band, and Steven, Matt, and Gilbey being fired were all bad choices by everyone involved.
i saw slash 2 times, with Guns N' Roses in '93 and with Velvet Revolver in 2007, well i gotta tell u hes special! u can think what u want but when he playes his guitar he has the power to give emotions... i mean... u can feel his melodies deep inside your soul

Im an all SRV, Slash, and Jimi girl. I love SRV more than anyone but Slash has my grip too. I completely understand and 100% agree with both of you and I saw him with velvet revolver and that was just great. Fantastic performance and great quality. I honestly pretty much only listen to velvet revolver to hear anything new from Slash. But damn I wish SRV wouldnt have gotten in that helicopter.

I don't know what he's like now, but back when GNR was touring, Axl left a LOT of ticket-buying crowds to fend for themselves... he walked off-stag numerous times and stranded the set. I think the most famous incident was the night James Hetfield got burnt by a wall of fire burnt his arms up in a pyro accident on-stage... Axl got on stage after that, and instead of calming the crowd down and playing a great set, he ended up throwing a fit and walked off. That was the time for him to be a leader.

i think slash has been humble about the whole thing, but slash doesn't need axl and axl doesn't need slash, a reunion will unfortunetely never happen.
