As a home educator, this is SPOT ON. Your response to the question is one of the reasons I chose to educate at home and hone in on each child’s learning ability and skill. More children might be happier people if they were allowed to flourish where they excel instead of where other people’s expectations sit.

    Summary:
Over-index on positive reinforcement of desired behavior.
Reward should be given appropriate to the level accomplishment.
    Encourage pursuit of individual strengths.

the reason you need to over-exaggerate their strengths and the good things they do is because you want to build their confidence in the things they do well.

I don’t know why, but content like this where you speak to the parents does something for me. Just like ur track 6. Some of what u said parents shouldn’t do is relatable. And it’s like someone is standing up for me and understands me and what I’ve been thru with my parents. Thank you Gary V and thank you to Gary V’s mother

Love this really spoke out to me! Love that you mention math bc I’m being an 8th grade math teacher but I love that you said something like “..don’t be a geometry.. “ bc like honestly.. I’m going to work really hard but it’s okay not to know everything. No one is perfect and it sounds like you were going to say something like that. I love how and they way you talk and it’s all relative to the topic!! Thanks. Really caught me attention of a 14 year old!! 🙈🙉

Bro you are the truth no lie I love your stuff. It's great and it's practical. We as parents and as people in society lose sight and complicate the easiest and practical things in life. Thank you Gary for existing bro love it. Every time I watch your content I feel more and more confident in putting my self out there to achieve my goals in life and not give a fuck what other people think because that what has been holding me back thank you brother God bless you and your family...

Yaaassss! Thank you for sharing Gary Vee ... you have totally put a different perspective on the way I'm raising my kids. Especially bc I know I want to do it differently from how my parents raised me.

This is exactly how I am with my kids. My daughter Jade is great with kids so I am incouraging her to write a kids book which she is working on now. She is also a great fotographer at the age of 22 and is using her skills to take pictures for her book.

For me my parents only look at the bad stuff when ever I get good grades they don't even care all they say is "oh, good job" and when I get average grades they look soo disappointed in me.
and no I never have got a bad grade like only once.

The worst is when the parents believe in the child but the child doesn't... This is usually when external circumstances are at fault. I believe that nobody is born with self-esteem issues, but it's veeeery easy to get them if one doesn't have a strong enough spine. It all comes back to Gary V.'s "own your mistakes and don't care about what other people think"

Hey gary i have a question and maybe you’ll find the time to answer it.
So I live with my mom at home and I’m in college.
She’s a single mom and my dads been dead for 16 years now.
I believe I still have a lot to learn about being a “man” but still I realize I have to do my own thing for that.
Anyway you get the context a little.
So my mom stayed single and I find that she’s a bit toxic.
I’m into spirituality so I find it hard to say this because I have the idea that I am her and so if I change, she “should” change as well as I better myself.
The problem is, she’s negative a lot of times and self centered which I don’t really mind cuz I want to help if needed. But she doesn’t accept it,
also she gets mad at me for the stupidest things.
Now, she and I know I dont want to be in college anymore,
    I don’t like it.
Still I have to do 1 year for financial reasons and then I can stop.
My problem is, should I go start living on my own or stay here and try to bond with her when she’s always saying it’s me who cut the connection?
I don’t want to regret the decision if something would happen to her, she’s alone and I want to help, but I want to live and be free too,
Hope you get this Gary. Good video as always, a lot of joy on the journey brother

I think the biggest problem parents have with raising their kids is thinking they are raising kids. You're raising an adult who just happenes to be a kid at this time. Remember that.
