As someone working in IT Security myself this is painful to watch: already the cover... who would ever design a dialogue that would go "delete money across all continents?" If there's a dialogue for it it means it's a designed feature which in this case is unlikely (and technically impossible anyway)?! they are trying to remediate the DDoS attack from inside the office and cannot do anything because the targets are "unreachable"? Ever heard of Cloudflare, sinkholes, etc? They find out that the DDoS attack comes from multiple locations? Well, that's why the first D stands for "Distributed". Then they find out that it's not a DDoS attack but a rootkit? Well, this should be obvious in the very first second, because a rootkit is installed on the computer itself, not causing any (or little) network traffic while a DDoS attack causes a massive spike. Then they need to cut access to the internet to remove the rootkit? To avoid data exfiltration it's of course a good idea but considering that the hackers had access to install the rootkits in first place, they would most likely steal all data first before they move on to such destructive actions. Also, an infected computer should be isolated completely, also from the intranet, not only the internet and in case of something like a rootkit you can't just simply remove it because it has potentially complete control over the system, so a virus scanner will not do anything. Back to factory settings and starting with a clean backup it is. Then later the protagonist tries to "hack the CTOs database" but then somehow he logs in to his emails. I mean sure you can say email is also some kind of flat DB, but it just sounds like random words spit out to make it sound technical. And what kind of disaster recovery concept is this that making a single data center explode wipes all data "that is going to China" (what does it even mean? Do they buffer it there and send it as a batch job or what? Why is it not transferred in real time?). Why is there no high availability concept? Why is there no data mirroring? Why is there no failver data center? Which laptop nowadays still has a CD drive and who on earth would just insert random CDs into their laptop (ok, shockingly still too many, that's true...). Then him hacking into the hospital because it's run on Windows 98. There would be no hospital to hack in to in first place, because such a long time abandoned system would have been found ages ago by automated vulnerability scanners in the internet that would have potentially destroyed the servers anyway. It would also most likely not comply with data security and pribacy standards as they are stated in HIPAA etc. I just reached the end of the video and it seems this will go on in another video. Won't watch it...

The only unbelievable part is him being this proficient at hacking. He makes his own brute force scripts, writes his own malware, rootkits, and knows a LOT about computer hardware.
No it's a DDoS attack too. If the rootkit causes the thing to happen it's still both if it is still using multiple devices' servers to become untraceable and flood the system all at once. Whoever injected it must be an internal cause which means one of the workers there are at fault.
Actually in the show the whole point to destroy the offsite facility was to destroy the backups stored in tape drives and paper docs. They explain it very clearly in the show. There were multiple offsite facilities but the hackers plan and use social engineering to transfer all the physical data to a single location and then destroy the building and Evil Corp once and for all. In fact it is the major plot point of season 2/3.
Yep. That's why in the show, Elliot reversed the hack because he realised that this kind of revolutions don't work and that E Corp was an "necessary evil" because world didn't get fixed but it ended into shit when debt was erased.

I think it's one of the best shows ever made
He was that one kid who showed everyone the hidden shortcuts on the chromebooks at school
I've been trying to figure out the name of this show FOREVER because i see the clips in so many videos. Thank you!!!!!! This show looks so good, I am going to watch it
Well, being forced to live in a museum for all your life will make you social awkward
😂😂😂😂😂
I remember when you had 4.03k subs now you have 4.03m enjoy it bro you deserve it 👏
As a computer science student , im impressed by his skills in cybersecurity 😂😂😂
The only unbelievable part is him being this proficient at hacking. He makes his own brute force scripts, writes his own malware, rootkits, and knows a LOT about computer hardware.
This is one of the shows I really wish I could watch again for the first time
No it's a DDoS attack too. If the rootkit causes the thing to happen it's still both if it is still using multiple devices' servers to become untraceable and flood the system all at once. Whoever injected it must be an internal cause which means one of the workers there are at fault.
Great story but it needed Aliens so much 😢
If the guy uses a hoodie it's a hacker XD
Mr. Robot is one of the best TV Series of all time
A world in which backups don't exist, a programmer's worst nightmare.
This saves me many hours watching long tv shows
i needed this bc i watched up to season 4 and didn’t get to watch the last season bc i forgot everything that happened 😭
Watch the whole show, it's amazing.
Modern intelligent Freddie Mercury? 👁👄👁
Loved your works Mystery Recapped team...😊👍
👏
Please bring back, "Watch Out and Take Care"
Thank you for finally doing a recap on Mr. Robot. Amazing show.
I love how the E-Corp logo looks like Enron.
Take a loan, buy a car and a house, debt removed - profit. The people who sold the car and house - loss.
Justice is subjective,
Yep. That's why in the show, Elliot reversed the hack because he realised that this kind of revolutions don't work and that E Corp was an "necessary evil" because world didn't get fixed but it ended into shit when debt was erased.
How are they at a loss? They received cash for the purchase. The debt is on the buyer
Noone ever turns down a lucrative position in a company no matter their values or feelings about the company
We need the part 2
i cant believe this was made 9 years ago now. a true masterpiece
This is truly a really good show. I've never sat through a full season and binged it nonstop before this. If this recap piqued your interest, go watch it! Just keep in mind that bruh didn't do it full justice, it's worth the watch.
Again thank you for the synapse and helping to expose people to movies and shows they never would have otherwise.
"the men in this show are more twisted than the targaryens" LMAOOOO
The main character looks like Theon Greyjoy.
season 1: great and can understand what's going on
season 2- 4 : what the hell is going on?
11:50 time back goes hard
This Is One Of The Best Shows Ever Made, Enjoyed Every Second Of This Masterpiece
What's the name ?
@@aforshort5593mr robot
Wait, so Mr. Robot isn't even Elliot? That's a fucking twist.
WHY WOULD YOU PUT A RANDOM CD IN YOUR COMPUTER AHHGHAGHAGAGHGAHGHAGAGAGGAHGAHGAHAGHAHGAHAG
Judging by your comment I bet you would
This was one of the best directed shows I’ve ever seen
Hasn't been done like this before but we've had "resets". It doesn't work. A near identical system will just take its place again.
That's exactly what happened in the show. Rich people profited with this, actually, the CEO of the company let this happen but he used it to profit with his new cryptocurrency. Even Elliot (main character) realised that you can't change the world like that, everything just went to shit, so he reversed the hack in season 3.
