- Medium had promised the Partner Program will open up for Indian writers in October 2023. But as we all know, we're well into November, and India is still not on the list of countries where writers are eligible to earn from the Partner Program.

All Medium members have a tiny yellow star against their username on Medium. That's how you know they are members.

Why is Medium not trying to collaborate with PayPal for India specifically?
I wish I could answer, but I don't work with Medium, and I haven't talked with anyone from their product team regarding this.
India's policies are not helpful for this digital age when thousands of young people are becoming millionaires elsewhere through digital marketing.
Rightly said. I myself have faced a ton of problems on receiving payment through other platforms like Substack, Ghost etc. It's hard for an Indian to start a global business.@@AjiDn1

Note that Medium changed its policies after October 2020, and this method no longer works.

Yes, earning is possible only for Medium members. But currently the partner program is not open in India.

Non-member interactions (like, clap, highlight) have no impact on your earnings.

There has been no official announcement from Medium' side yet. But you should try it out and let us know :)
When I try to join via the account settings, it still says you are not in the eligible country.
