A player's contract is not based on only what they do on the pitch. Rashford didn't cost United a transfer fee, his commercial success for the club also has to be taken into consideration when calculating his weekly wages. Football is a business and as such all things are calculated when determining wages.

That's not the case here though. Interviews from players have to be released on a set day due to club rules. This was the only day it could be released because of how fast the games come around this time of year. This interview was also planned for the week before the derby- but was rescheduled because United wanted the team to visit hospitals last week instead.
Besides, it was the club who notified journalists last week that Rashford was going to be up for sale so it's not like the club didn't know this was going to happen. It's just come to a natural end-- just probably a season or two too late for some.

He needs to stop doing interviews, I understand he feels he needs his voice to be heard but there is no I in TEAM. Needs to stop thinking about himself, and be proud to play as part of a team. But then, putting myself in his boots, why would you with such a toxic fanbase and massive exposure to social media? Then there's his personal life that only he can deal with...it's a mess. Unfortunately, Marcus is symbolic of everything which has been wrong with the club for the last ten years. Underperforming, overpaid, should have parted ways with the club years ago but because of sentimentality he's been kept around. Expensive deadwood.
When the club is trying to move forward, raise the standards and comply with FFP... You can't have underperforming big names becoming squad players on massive wages. Everything about his life seems wrong at the moment, so a fresh start is the best thing for everyone.
I wish him all the best but it should have happened years ago. His numbers (goals) have never been good enough for a Man United forward.

Rashford is expensive deadwood? He cost £0 ffs.
His wage was negotiated and earned through his own sweat. I wonder what you think of Rasmus, who cost £72m.
He’s symbolic of an era, post Fergie, where young players constantly fall out of love with football. We see it with Maguire, Martial, Sancho, Lingard, Januzaj, Di Maria and now Rashford
In post Fergie era, his numbers are up there with legends. In his time at Utd, the club were incompetent at football management and fans lashed out at the players.

No united player has matched Rashfords goal and assist tally the last few years. What about the rest of the squad?
Football is a team sport, individual performances are Linked to the collective. United finished 8th in the premier league last year, and are 12th currently. There isn't a single player in the squad who has lived up to his contract or the clubs history. We can already see Sancho performing at Chelsea, in a team well built. Knowing his wages, it Will be just like Jaden Sancho, who is going to score goals for the club until the summer? Let's stop lying to ourselves, Rashford Will have suitors, just like Harvertz, Joao Felix, Etc had suitors. Who is United bringing on in January,or who are the players currently in the squad United can rely upon for the 2nd half of the season to be up to that task? Rashford is sadly a product of his environment, he’s part of that post Fergie self entitled victim mentality era that systematically ran through the club from the likes of Pogba and Jesse Lingard, i don’t just think its a man utd problem specifically though its a wider problem with how society has gone now, with players on far too much money, having too much power and growing up with the toxicity of social media, its why we don’t see as many leaders in the game anymore, most of them no longer have the determination and drive to be great anymore because they’re given everything to young and don’t have to earn it in the same way the previous generation had to with the likes of Becks, Scholes, Neville etc, had he came through the academy a decade earlier things might have been different because he would have been breaking into a team of winners with incredibly high standards.

Completely agree with your opening comments. Often with quotes the context and order of his comments can be re-ordered and that can change the impact. Perhaps Rashford is nervous around doing video interviews. Perhaps the online reactions that he’s had in the past has made him think twice about that. Rashfords football confidence and passion to play seems to have gone and the only person that can tell us why that is, is Marcus. The whole thing is sad. Very sad that it’s come to this.

The team selection against Man City away was questionable again. The team should have been: Onana, Yoro/Maguire, DeLigt, Martinez, Dalot, Ugarte, Bruno, Mazraoui, Amad, Hojlund & Rashford/Mount.
Subs: Bayindir, Maguire, Yoro, Malacia, Amass, Eriksen, Rashford, Gernacho, Zirkzee & Antony
We expect an away win as long as Amorim chose a team to win against the opposition instead of trying to contained them in the game.
Unfortunately Gernacho & Rashford wasn't in the squad due to focusing reasons.
