    Just to say, 3 years on this helped me sort out my Tiny CNC Marlin set up via Fusion. Many thanks.

      Glad it's still relevant! I always wonder with these videos if things have changed enough that the tutorials don't work anymore.

      Yes still very relevant. This is the most useful video I found for Marlin & Fusion post processing (a lot of disjointed CNC stuff out there). Having a Fusion 360 personal license I did get caught out because the post processor now defaults back after closing the program so need to tweak all when next used. No biggy. I stay within feed rate confines to meet the license. I am using Marlin on one of these: ua-cam.com/video/ctyLjOHg7Ag/v-deo.html still some slight calibration needed on firmware limits but very nearly there. Mostly thanks to your very clear & informative videos. Well done & thanks again. Steve

    I found this video super helpful and even had to link it to a post on the V1 forum. Thank you for taking the time and documenting this. Along with the supporters on the V1 forum i actually have my machine accepting Gcode now.

      Glad it helped! I’ve actually found a bit of an improved way to install the post processor. You install it into your Fusion cloud library which means it’s accessible on multiple computers. Here are the instructions. Ignore the first step, that’s a different post processor but the rest of the stuff is the same.

    Great stuff. Just finished my MPCNC and have done the crown test, now it's time to learn Fusion CAM and make my first cut with the router! This video was helpful, thank you.

    This is exactly what I was looking for since I'm moving from ESTLCAM to Fusion360. Thank you!

      Glad it helped! I’ve got another video where I walk through setting up fusion to cut out flat parts using different tool operations. You might find that helpful as well. Good luck out there.

    Than you for making this video.. have not made my first cut, but have about 30 more questions! Appreciate the walkthrough for getting the Post file loaded. It was a bit different on the Mac….

    Nice! That gave me SO MUCH more info that other videos I've been watching that make some assumptions of CNC users, especially helpful because it's on the MPCNC, using F360, and Repetier, all of which I am using too. Still haven't done my first cut yet, but getting very close. By the way, this is Spencer from the V1 forums.

    Great video. I sort of gave up on post in F360 after driving a cutter straight into the spoil-board - this explained why! I'll be re-visiting very soon.

    My LowRider V2 kept crashing the tool in the z direction when I was using tabs, I am assuming this is because of marlin fast movement issues? I have been going nuts, the steppers aren't losing steps, its like the z motors or marlin ignores some of the retract movements on Z. Thanks so much for these videos!

    Thank you. Great help and thoroughly explained. I like to hear the “why you should do it this way” details. Looking forward to more fusion360 cam to mpcnc videos. Subscribed.

      Yes eventually. I’ve been busy making parts for a combat robot competition but I should have some time to make a few more tutorials soon.

    What are the dimensions you went with when building your mpcnc? I want a build with a cut area of around 24x24xx4”, just curious how you did yours

    • @gump1119
      @gump1119  4 роки тому +2

      My build area is very small, about 12" wide by 9" deep. Total Z height 2.9", minus the spoil board. I made it small to be extra rigid for cutting aluminum parts.

      Apocalyptic Squirrels nice, thanks for the info

    Hi Mr. Squirrel. Are you still using the same setup these days? As of late I'm having issues with "Machine_Capability_Simulation" errors when trying to simulate a process. I was able to add this into the post processor which fixed the problem but now The viewpoint follows the tool instead of staying in a fixed position. I was trying this with FlyFishers Post processor. Thanks again for the vid.

    • @gump1119
      @gump1119  3 роки тому +1

      I designed and built my own CNC that I use instead now. But my Fusion360 process is essentially the same. Never seen that error so I’m not sure how to fix it. Sorry.

    Can you make a video explaining how to use work offsets with the MPCNC like g54 g55?

    • @gump1119
      @gump1119  4 роки тому +1

      Sorry, I don't know how to use those yet! I'm working towards it, as well as edge-finding/probing.
