I think that’s the right way to do it. Other tutorials show how to lay the cable behind the airbag cover. But that’s very dangerous I guess. Thank you for this video!

Car manufacturers should just provide a USB port at the back of the rear view mirror. Should be easy to do.

Škoda does this for at least 4 years.
You have the option for usb-c right side on the mirror "pillar" at least for superb.

@budcunningham6732 I'm a prof car audio installer. I'm pretty sure I know how to install a camera in a car but it's not blue tooth clearly so how does it connect if no wires. It don't because it's a bs scam

No it will not, unless the sensor detect strong impact on the car (front & back, side of door etc.). You can remove battery terminal before do it if worry.

I did it by myself and it was easy and I'm a woman. Installing the rear dash is the same process.Its all about finessing the wire around your car where its not visible like shown in this video.

I don’t believe you need to use that specific tool , at least I am not planning to . It seems that you need to just get the wire under the headliner and that seem to be pretty easy

I hard wired my dash cam using an add a fuse but no power. The fuses are good, cable is brand new and wired up right. One to the fuse, one to ground. What am I doing wrong?
