Wow you made quick work out of that. Nice job. There are 2 other sneaky places water gets in the rear trunk. One is the lenses themselves. There is a seal that goes between the housing and the lenses. The other is the universal grommets that were used on the body for the wires to the license plate lights. We made a water stopping grommet for these. Takes a little patience and an needle nose pliers but no more water will get in that way.
My back pad wont come right off because engine bay latch pull button. I cannot see how it comes off and dont want to break anything
This has stumped me before too! There are 2 portions to unscrew. Unscrew the knob you pull CCW by hand. Then you need to unscrew the plastic “guide” coming through the pad. It typically has 2 small holes 180 degrees apart. I use a set of needlenose pliers opened wide and gentle push the jaws into the 2 holes and unscrew it CCW. Hope this helps!

Do you have an instructional of restoring the targa top?
No, my targa is in good shape actually. I know some folks use a textured bed liner paint on them.
Do you plan to have an instructional on how to fix the gaps around the headlight eyelids then closed?
I’ll see what I can do! My car isn’t a good example of this, but maybe I can use a friends car. Are you thinking of the “eyelid” or the headlight surround?
@@barefootgaragejax9252 I wish I could post a photo of a bad alignment, but its when the the headlight are in the down position and there are uneven gaps all around them. Almost like the are not fulling closed.

His arm had to be twisted pretty hard, but I think it looks killer. He just wanted to do a plain pattern.
