Whenever you're making something with pasta, it also helps to save a little bit of the pasta water to add when adding everything else because it helps the "sauce" stick to the pasta because of the starch :)

Family bought 4 logs of mushrooms from Mushroom King. This seems like the perfect video cause now we have so many mushrooms to eat. Look forward to trying this
joe!! i recommend salting the mushrooms a little when stir frying so the moisture from the mushrooms extract faster giving u better crispy mushrooms without absorbing most of the olive oil when you dump them in
Yess i love this idea putting out video's of you cooking different plates with these mushrooms. I'm going to buy a kit soon. I love the packaging of the box i just noticed lol Super cute logo :)
U add salt because it will add a salty flavor to the water which is boiling the pasta so u flavor the pasta I could be wrong on this part but I think it raises the boiling point so the water can get hotter before it evaporates so u can boil the pasta faster (I think) and the added heat makes it easier to cook the pasta al dente
Salt in the water seasons the noodles. Even if you toss the noodles in salty sauce, it’ll lack that base seasoning. Also Italians would kill you if they saw you break pasta into the water! 😭
I googled to see if this dish already had a name and found it’s called Butter Shoyu Pasta only differences between them is that in the other recipe it called for both soy sauce and butter and they used parsley instead of basil along with not even mentioning lemon juice But all the key ingredients are the same so it can be said that it’s the same dish with slight variations, so I can’t wait to get a hold of my own shiitake mushroom kit to try this out 🤩
@@JoeJitsukawa yup, but honestly Shiighetti, from the other comments, does seem like a more fitting name for yours 😁 On a different note, hope you’re staying healthy and best wishes for any present and future projects you’re working on 🙏🏻
oh man that looks bomb!!!! I would have added yes, the butter and like 4 tablespoons of Sake and/or White wine. But shiiet i just ate and im hungreh again.
If you add a bit of baking soda to the spaghetti as it cooks, the texture changes to become more like egg noodles. I think that would make this dish even better!
Pasta looks bomb. FYI, your dish is totally vegan. Swapping soy sauce for Braggs is for gluten free people, but butter is definitely the way to go. And adding salt is to flavor the pasta. Some people say it is to increase the boiling point, but it's mostly for seasoning.
Damnnn that looks bomb.....I think I know what I'm bouta make tmrw night after work. PS I think you salt the water cause it gets soaked into the spaghetti noodles as it cooks.
I love how the title is just ingredients 👌🏻 simple man, we love.
theres not mushroom in the title
@@JoeJitsukawa ahhhh i see what u did there ;)

What a fungi haha
I harvest my mushroom couple weeks ago n use it in hot pot and let me tell you, that was the best mushroom I've eaten.

Please make more cooking videos! I love how simple and delicious everything looks...

Man, i have been following you for 10 years from 16 to 26 years old. 10 YEARS
Just made this and it’s now my favorite pasta dish! Thanks for the recipe!
Love your channel man! Been a fan for a long time! Stay safe bro!
salt just allows the water to boil faster and also seasons the pasta as well:)
salt actually makes the water boil slower lol thats why you should salt after the water has come to a boil
@@diyanfonseka yeah the salt increases the temperature it requires for the water to boil, which in turn makes boiling the noodles faster

love you joe, more cooking vlogs pls 🤍

Crushed red pepper flakes and spinach sounds like really good additions to this meal :)
Happy Holidays Joe! 🎄
you put salt in boiling water so the pasta can absorb it and makes it mudda delicious
ohhh that make sense
@@JoeJitsukawa "the water needs to taste like the mediterranean sea" Gordon Ramsay
It is the only time you can season the pasta.
This made me mudda hungray

I just made this cos I seen it on your IG. Wow it’s delicious 🙌🏽.
My wife and I saw Fabiana Solano Shiitake review. We ordered ours a few days ago. We're excited to try it out. 🤙🏼
This mudda hungry was so smooth and organized. The old ones something always went wrong lol. Love them both
Hey Joe anyplans on bringing mushrooms to Canada?
I want to know this too! Wanted to gift this to someone. Probably not though.
I believe he said it’s hard to cross borders with an organic thing like a mushroom farm. But not sure if he has plans.
yesss but its hard cuz customs! our farm is actually closer to canada than LA but just shipping issues

Looks sooooo yummy 🤤
Omg it looks so good
Good eats with Joe. Definitely, a great dish 👍
You could add the stem to soup or stock for flavor and remove it after

¡YaY! My mudda fav! Mudda hungry!
Who is this cutieeeee!!!
just got my log for my dad who loves to cook
added this to my healthy meals playlist lol. looks healthy enough
Salt is added to water to increase the boiling point and adds flavor to your pasta.
Joe can I get the mushroomking kit in the UK??? A few of us really want to buy
You try adding some of the zest upon finishing the stir fry !! It'll give a totally different flavour !!
You should add your dried Basil to the oil with the garlic and mushroom. It’ll bring out the flavor more.
ohhh in the beginning!
Dude that thumbnail is doing amazing things to my appetite
Can't wait until you ship the mushroom farms internationally. Please include New Zealand😁

Alkaline noodles
1:11 joe I need that song for my gym playlist 💪🏽💪🏽 Essasizeeeeee
Try zesting the lemon and adding that to the sauce.
I love this
This looks fire🔥🔥🔥
Damn it, now I gotta go to the store and buy the spaghetti now. Effin Delicious man!
Dumb question but... the mushrooms you plucked off will they grow back? If so in how long... asking because im interested in buying one 🤗🤗🤗
they dont grow back at the same place but other mushrooms will sprout all over the log
Please ship to Canada
Salt in the water seasons the pasta and cooks your pasta faster due to the higher temperature it creates
I can’t wait to move to be able to order a kit. No ship to Hawaii😭
Reason for salt added to boiling water coz pasta doesn’t have its own seasoning unless you make it or buy the ones with flavor in it
Salt in water helps with flavor and sticking.
The salt for the spaghetti makes the noodles not stick together. Adding your Shiitake Mushrooms to the pasta is the mudda boss af
WE DO DUH ESUHSAII!! What a throwback lol🤣
6:38 That looks like a snack to me, that portion of food is too little for me. That's why I Iove cooking for myself.
Spa Room Pasta seems like a decent name. Spa from spaghetti. Room from mushroom. Eat it, feel comfort. It sounds mysterious too.
haha spa room how fancy
i think it means "lets eat", thank you for the meal or like in spanish its provecho (enjoy)
Gotta hit the like button.
Add some truffle oil, black pepper and parm
Yes chef, making me mudda haaangryy
Also, I can watch you cook all day it's so entertaining
You should have Ant make fried eggrolls with mushrooms in them. It's good!
Lemon-Basil Shiitaghetti!
Look delicious...😋 😋 damn
Salting the water gives the pasta a little flavour. Plus sometimes you use some of that pasta water when you’re making the sauce
Joe -“the not much room here”
Me- “i see what you did there”
Man I started scream the exercise Song when joe played it lol
I made this with some grilled chicken breast, and it was sooooooooo gooooooddd😍❤️😍🤤🤤🤤🤤
I’m adding the peanut butter!
I cant wait for the mushroom kit to be available for Saudi people's
Damn I’m gonna have to make this for myself! 🔥🤤
You didn’t add salt when stir frying so I assume salt is to season the noodles

salt for flavor and oil to prevent sticking when boiling pasta noodles
Salt is for tha mudda seasonings
Ur tha best Joe!
No shipping to Hawaii! 😭😭
call it the joe especial
I believe it’s already vegan with the soy sauce brand! This reminds me of basic rice and soy sauce that I used to eat as a kid yummm
I heard that salt in the water supposedly keeps the noodles from sticking together and sticking to the bottom of the pot.
Damnnn that looks bomb.....I think I know what I'm bouta make tmrw night after work. PS I think you salt the water cause it gets soaked into the spaghetti noodles as it cooks.
How do I get the mushroom?
That look so good mmmmmmmmmmmyumm
😄👍♥️♥️
It’s looks so MUDDA GUUUUUD
For the flabor babieee 😊
also the way Joe said spaghetti really trips me out
Pasghetti
You should create a Shitake Mushroom cook book!
Always keep the mushroom tip clean.
Joe just had a "Shoryu" Ken!
Mudda yummy
Do the mushrooms grow back?
they dont regrow from the same point but more mushrooms grow from the log
more mushroom cooking please, maybe a new channel with your team
Salt is to make the water boil faster, also for seasoning/flavour for the pasta.
Now! where's my heart at ❤️ 😅
no wonder my mama said its for taste
Chuck E. Cheese for my birthday
