@@halohalohikers3571 Gotcha, too bad they are going to closed Oceano Dunes. Now when they closed Oceano dunes for good, is there another part of Pismo beach i could go and camp?
Awesome video man! I had a frontier with a rtt and traded the truck last year for a 21 trail boss. I hope to have the rtt on it this weekend so I can make some more videos for my channel. Thanks for the inspiration to get my new rig up and going.
I live in Nipomo just minutes from Pismo and I drive through it every day,but us locals forget that there even a beach there. We enjoyed the video and come back again soon ( try to get here on a Thursday afternoon for our SLO farmers market,it’s rated #1 in California) look it up on UA-cam.
What’s up bro! Clean rig!. I got the same truck. I’m going to Pismo this weekend I was wondering what did you air down to? And did the truck ever get stuck out there? Seems like it did great!
One of the reasons why they want to shutdown the dunes is because a lot of people moved to the Nipomo mesa from Orange County and the Bay Area then they complain about the noise and air quality downwind. That’s what happens when you clear cut hundreds of acres of trees to build new homes.
Just go do it! Don’t worry too much about getting a bunch of gear/stuff… each time you go, you will think of something that will make your next trip a little more comfortable or easier. You will end up slowly building your rig in a way that works for you! Have fun.
Do you think a normal stock suv say bmw x7 on 45 profiles all season can hit the dudes? Will I definitely need to air down? I don’t have equipment to air up after 😂
Air down for sure and you can cruise the beach no prob, but I probably wouldn’t attempt to go in the actual dunes. The sand is a lot deeper and you would get stuck for sure. Unless you don’t mind digging yourself out and using traction boards every 10 feet. Just don’t do it.
It costs $10 a night for when I went. You can reserve at reservecalifornia.com and to answer your question about the two wheel drive, you will only see four wheel drive vehicles there. But, you could probably do it if you stay on the beach and don’t go in the dunes. Make sure to air down your tires.
In order to enter the dunes do you need a permit or pass to enter? Or can you enter the dunes for the day and leave during the night if you don't camp there?
@@kevs482 goto reservecalifornia.com type in oceano dunes and pick the date you want to go. There are different options for day use, camping, etc. I think the day use pass is like $10
@halohalohikers3571 thanks for your respond . I check online but there's not availability for camping. My question is can I go as a walk in and spend the day there without camping? I want to ride my quad and go off roading and spend the day at the beach. If I can't camp there oh well, but importantly I want be able to get in
@@Ryureki yea they only allow a limited number of people on the beach for camping (this is why you need a reservation). But the sites are first come first serve.

Keep the dunes open!
Any idea why the california coastal commission wants to close Oceano Dunes? Beside going off roading, theres gotta be a reason.
@@Joe--- Environmental reasons. Clams and a specific bird they are trying to protect I believe.

@@Joe--- from what I read the beach camping will remain open, but the dunes will close to the public.

Hopefully ill be able to visit before they close it… that place looks awesome
It would be awesome if they just kept the dunes open indefinitely! Have fun if you get a chance to go it’s a tun of fun.
We are going up there but no spots available for camping , can we just set up and leave our vehicles outside
Brilliant Sharing friends! Lot of love and respect from a solo mountain hiker friend from the Lower Chitral District of Pakistan.
Thanks, stay safe!
Keep the dunes open CA, come on

did you air down for the dunes?
@@choate10 yes! only down to 20ish psi but it was helpful!
Great video, do you know if they allowed to camp with RV on the shoreline?
They definitely allow RVs and toy haulers on the shoreline. You just have to go south of mile marker 2.
Rock on
how big is your flag?
Nice vid! What flag mount are you using?
Good old fashion zip ties lol. It stayed secured!

Mavic air
Do you have to book a campground in order for you to camp there?
They don’t have assigned camping spots but yes you need a permit
