Triumph Trident 660 Zard Exhaust System - Install and Review
Getting mine installed today. Didn’t notice or can’t see in your video, but even though the rack installs into the stake pockets, it still has to sit on top of the rolling lock’s rails yeah?
Filter is 89 lb/in* or just hand tighten.
I was gonna say 89 ft lbs is insanely tight. Hand tight should be good.
@ realized my misspoke right when as I watched it live lol. Good catch.
What do the neighbors think? Too loud?
@@drzaius844 I haven’t had any complaints from the HoA yet, but I try and coast in the last quarter mile with the clutch in lol.
Nice content dude. I really like your Trident 660 videos. If you have the bandwidth, please do a 2024 update and lets give the trident some air time on your channel. She's been neglected long enough 😅. Lets get her back on. 🙏
Nice truck and setup bro, is that LT Trail Boss or Custom Trail Boss?
@@qrizpol1767 LT trailboss 👍🏼
phone screen on the bars @ 0:29 seems to say, "Arrived 515 W Lambert Road, Brea." Just sayin.' Where i live (out of state) the dealership couldn't be more different. +1 for my guys.
how much was the Zard?
let us know how they do keeping dust out! I haven't seen those yet, and they look really stout. Also like that you can still used stuff mounted to the sides of the bed. I've got all my recovery gear strapped to the sides. looks like you could still used some of the bed space on top too. I love drawers, but i use my bed too much, lol. Even blow up the air mattress and camp out under the diamondback cover sometimes.
Exactly! I have Molle panels on the side of my truck bed and with these drawers I can still access my compressor, shovel, etc. I hear you though, it took me awhile to commit to the drawers! I will keep you updated.
Yep, you need to take out the spare and heat shield if you want to remove the old system in 1 piece.
A few more things: Their website says it’s built for outdoor use and extremely weather resistant. The pallet it arrived on weighed 490lbs but I’m not sure what the unit itself weighs. Listed price on their website right now is $2999.
Great video!
Thank yiu
Glad you enjoyed it
Is there any highway droning? Have you noticed and difference when the AFM/DFM system drips 8cyl to 4cyl? Co worker had to install a tuner to disable AFM because the droning inside the cab was terrible.
@@paulbarratt5511 no droning that I’ve noticed, or at least nothing bothersome. I do want to get an AFM/DFM disabler still but wasn’t because of the droning. I just want all the power all the time!
Thanks for reply. I’m not able to install an AFM disabler on my 2024 Silverado, was informed by the dealership it would void my warranty.
@ People just unplug it before taking it in. I haven’t researched it recently but I believe the pulsar brand is untraceable once unplugged. 🤔
I got caught in one today lol came out of nowhere
this sounds like a Lamborghini
@@renzozaragosa126 the triple and the zard are at match made in heaven!
I used a leather hole punch. Matched it up with the original strap and marked the holes. Cut to length. Installed like normal strap and seat clicked in like a charm. I still have to sit on it to turn key to remove seat. Also, I would advise against using the strap as any kind of handle. I use it for looks and stopped my hat from blowing away. Cheers
Great form, Brandon! Well done!

@@choate10 yes! only down to 20ish psi but it was helpful!
When you dropped your bike did the front and rear sliders touched the ground or did they have a slight scratches?
I haven’t found a good velcro that sticks to my headliner. Even Velcro patches that are originally made with velcro don’t stick all too great
@@Soldier1287 try adding the sewing pin. It doesn’t leave any holes and they won’t fall. I use a key or something hard to push them in all the way. I linked the Velcro and sewing pins I used in the description of this video.
which GMRS radio did you go with? and how does that ghost antenna work in wooded areas?
@@nyquillisdillwad2824 I believe it’s the midland mxt275. And I have a few hand held gxt3000 and I put them on the same channel and hand them out to family and friends when we are caravaning. I think the antenna adds an extra 2-3 miles. It definitely is needed compared to the little standard antenna.
Misleading video title. It's a hike not a climb. East Buttress is a climb.
3:45...Hard to believe that was altitude sickness. San Gorgonio trailhead parking lot is only 6000ft. Most likely you were car sick from the drive up. If it was altitude sickness you would not feel better going higher to 11,000 ft. I've gotten sick at the beginning of long hikes, and walked it off, but it was an upset stomach, not altitude.
@@aliensoup2420 you know I think your probably right lol
Do you know if an ECU update is required ?
I purchased a 2023 Trident 660 brand new from a dealership. Love the bike, but will probably NEVER buy another Triumph because of their dealership network. Hands down, The worst dealerships I have ever had to do business with. Its a damn shame, because they make some nice rides but the dealerships make me never want to buy another one, at least not a new one where I have to do business with them.

you should have mentioned at the start my dealer is just 5km away from me and the moment i saw your intro i was at the showroom in 5mins banging on the sale team door for this colour ...ps i went with this instead of baza orange cause the orange is toooo ....just not my taste and in the rest this colour seems the best but i would like the matt black version grey radiator shrouds along with the metallic silver
can you please send me where you order your zard thanks

My first oil change on my Bonneville in Canada would have been $500, but I factored in into the sale. Have done my own since. When doing the frame sliders you can remove the little 8mm bolt holding the bottom of the radiator to move the rad forward a little. Gives more room so you can get your hand in there(for both left and right) with just a normal socket. I got the T-Rex Racing sliders(OEM style slider, they’re only like $110 and local to me in Dallas) but the Evotech ones look much better for sure. And I think they stick out a little more. The effectiveness of the different styles is infinitely in debate of course.
