Caleb's yelling has helped develop the inner monologue needed to stop my day-to-day spending. I struggle with addiction, and now I have all these words that have stopped my compulsive shopping. It took ~3 months of watching one every day, then something clicked and I'm finishing my very first 30-day no-spend month. It's awesome and very funny. I literally ask myself, in Caleb's voice, "Why are we spending on this if we're IN DEBT?!"
Also, I want to offer there are these folks out there who will be like Caleb, but with your food habits. I went to Isaiah at Top of the Line Fitness, but I'm sure other folks exist. 16 weeks and I shared myfitnesspal, did the workouts, but really overcame the mental and habitual issues that kept me snackin' like I have three bodies to feed.
My life is turned around because of these audits. If this style works for you and you have anything else to work on, I bet there's someone out there to support you.

Appearing to be humbled to sell your business is the new go that influencers are embarrassing. Regardless, it is better than most of the tiktok garbage these days. Hey Caleb I don’t know if you’ll see this but maybe think about adding a therapist or mental health specialist to help you assess the mental state of people while you go over their finances. That might get to the root of their spending habits or fear of spending. And it will add to audiences

I know Caleb has a panic/anxiety disorder because he tells us but otherwise I would never, ever guess that he had that issue. He exudes likability and confidence to me. Unless he does something egregious, his fan base will always be here.
There are plenty of other people who don’t hide their emotions. But yes, his personality aided a lot

As a personal trainer who works on habit building with exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle; I can 100 percent say it bleeds into other areas of your life. Unfortunately finances were a poor subject in my household growing up and I’m still unlearning a lot. But if Caleb is in the market for a trainer , I’d be happy to help!

Caleb is afraid of cancel culture and feeling the responsibility and weight of his life choices. He has many people who depend on him and he is stressed out! Dad's and husbands feel the same I'm sure! I have never heard of Caleb till today and my gosh I already adore him!!!! He is so great! He will make it through this I can tell already, very self aware and emotionally intelligent.

As an older Gen Xer, I absolutely love Caleb's content ... he is exactly what a lot of these younger people need. Dave Ramsey is too old for them and they look at him like an out of touch boomer, even though Dave's get out of debt advice is very sound. But when the younger generation sees someone their own age handing out sound advice, they listen. Keep up the great work.
I also feel that Caleb's guidance is more updated for our current times.
Yesss, I’m a young millennial and I grew up with my mom following everything Dave Ramsay said and I feel like that gave me a head start on financial education but I definitely think young-ish people need a modern version. We have so many new options. Investing online, crypto, whatever a micro loan is lol and many of us aren’t taking advantage of things we could be. Most ppl Ik who are like 40 don’t even have 401ks!
I think Dave Ramsey is a great person to go to even for the younger people and a lot of younger people still watch him. He’s actually more popular with the younger audience. Huge place for Caleb Hammer, though.
Sometimes getting turned down for a job can be the best thing that can ever happen to you. Caleb didn't get a job working for another UA-camr, then he became a UA-camr himself, and now he's blowing up. It has inspired me to keep posting videos even though no one watches them. Maybe one day I'll blow up too.
Caleb is a genuinely kind person. I hope he succeeds.

I don’t understand why the relationship thing is not working out. Caleb seems like such a great guy.
Caleb and I are in the same age range, and most people aren't fully mature in mid 20s-low 30s (despite what science proves). We have seen many people over 27 and they act like children. I know he will meet someone :).
It's the correlation working in the stem fields and being successful. You focus so much on work and efficiency, but don't use the same approach of dating/meeting new people.

In my experience, the worst time for relationships is when you're mid "getting your life together" stage.
If you have accepted where you are in life, people that are in that same state will be drawn to you. Likewise if you have "made it" that brings a safety net that gives you more time to spend with your partner. But when you're in that improvement set it turns people off that are settled, and it doesn't have the same safety net or free time that the "made it" people have. So typically this will be your most lonely time.
Last comment: as someone who gets panic attacks, what Caleb mentioned is 100% accurate and relatable. You get anxiety about the anxiety. It can be life altering and it’s awful all around. I also had my first panic attack out of nowhere in my teens. It’s more common than we want to admit and realize. But there is hope! I felt sad learning that Caleb feels more stressed and prone to panic attacks now with more YT success! 🥺 I hope he’ll go back to therapy and find ways to manage it. Because truly that’s all you’re doing - managing and hopefully, through work with a good therapist, get to the root of it as well.
Caleb, the other reason we want to text a little bit before we agree to a date is because we need to feel that the vibe is… safe lol. We just don’t know who wants to meet and get to know us and who wants to assault us. A few good texts to feel out the vibe can make a big difference! It doesn’t eliminate all danger but it does help us feeeeeel better.
Caleb, you are like a dad and a big brother to all of us who are finacially illiterate. While you do "yell" we, as the audience, can all see it comes from a good place. You are so trasparent and vulnerable as well and we can relate to you in that sense. Keep up the amazing work and know you are helping so so so many people. Including myself. Thank you so much.
I agree his yelling doesn't even feel like yelling. He just seems like he cares genuinely and he's just frustrated and disappointed.
Grahm has a point about being happy alone when you find someone. No one else coming into your life is going to instantly fix you or make your life better. Relationships are hard and take work. If you aren't happy and capable alone, you won't be able to handle a long-term relationship as it needs to be handled.

Politely disagree with parts of this -- yes we should all strive to be as fulfilled as possible on our own, but it's totally normal and healthy to want a partner. Sounds like Caleb is enjoying dating and that's a great attitude to have!
I was happy on my own before I met my fiance but hearing my therapist tell me that it's normal to want companionship was a big part of getting me to that last level of fulfillment when I was on my own
I suck at being alone. I just don't like it. There's nothing wrong with that. Some people thrive alone and some people don't. I'm "capable" alone, but I'm much happier married with a family. Why should I deny myself that to achieve some level of loneliness I'm not okay with?
@@kunya16yeah there are right and wrong ways to go about it. You can place your happiness in your family and spouse. You shouldn’t place it in a woman/man who you’ve only dated for a few months, especially if they don’t have the same feelings that you have for them.
Graham made me feel a lot better about continuing to rent for the next few years instead of feeling pressure to buy. Loved that part of the episode.

If you are looking to buy though I was reading about this startup called roam that helps current buyers take over the previous mortgage of the home you’re buying so maybe look into that to see if it’s worthwhile
@kevincarballo6303 however most will allow you to assume and then you'll also need a 2nd loan because most seller is out there to make a profit. Simply assuming would be from one relative to another.
Can buy a rv or live in van to save up for down payment for house, there’s UA-camrs who do that.
I think what he said only holds true if you are looking to buy a home that is ready to move into and will make no improvements over the time living there. If you buy a home under your budget and make all the renovations yourself over the time living there to keep cost down you can come out far ahead of renting when you sell.
I totally understand Caleb’s panic attacks and anxiety. I have the same diagnosis and it’s a very real thing. I’ve missed out on so much in life for fear of having the panic attacks while out somewhere

I agree. I'm 20 and nearly every person I've met who isn't already in a committed relationship is someone who wants a cheap fling or something short term. People seemingly do not have the passion to want to commit and build something long term. All about the instant gratification.
You're right, there's nothing wrong with wanting to share your life with someone. But you're totally wrong, no generation is trying to push off partnerships, we're just trying to *normalize not needing* to be in one. Stop misenterpreting that. It's important for oneself to be able to spend time with oneself and being okay with being single. Love and partnership are a side effect of living, it something that happens when you're living your life, it can be something you look forward to, but it shouldn't be your end goal. Everone is a whole person, not a half.
This generation is so weird about relationships. They'll move in together by the first date, but won't commit or act like wanting a long term relationship is bad. They'll go from one partner to another. They insist one shouldn't want anything long term, but they're just relationship hopping like that's superior. It's weird.
Just because past generations have done it a specific way doesn't mean it's the right way anymore, if it ever was.
I personally would never marry someone before living with them long-term.

caleb’s videos randomly came on my feed a year ago. ever since watching them, my credit score has jumped 30 points. i didn’t realize it had jumped so high until credit karma emailed me letting me know it was 30 pts higher! the show has been motivation to try to pay off my debt! I’m currently doing the snowball method and paying off my smallest card first and then will start paying off my bigger card. still haven’t paid off the smallest card yet, but at the rate I’m going, it’ll be paid off by January 2024!

Nobody grows up in the exact same way with the exact same experiences and society as a whole is vastly different for young people now than it was for boomers. I’m caught in between as a younger gen X, so I have my own unique experiences while having lived in the old world (pre Internet) and the new world (post Internet). It’s hard to fully understand how much the Internet has changed society and whether or not it existed when a person was young.

Community college is a fantastic move for most high school graduates. An associates degree, certification, and credits that will transfer to a 4 year degree, all at a cost that one can cost flow. This tip doesn't get spoken of nearly enough!
Trades training shouldn't be looked down upon either. We need the trades.

How many college athletes go on to professional sports careers?
How many college bachelor degree graduates find employment in their degree field?
Any accredited college is usually fine through the bachelor level. It is at the graduate school level that the college program matters for future employment opportunities.
What I love the most is Caleb is caring and you can sincerely see he wants to not only want to make a difference but he literally is changing lives! The fact he literally wants to give gifts and stuff to help people, I absolutely love watching your videos and it makes me so happy to see people's lives change. 😊

Graham's "pay back a portion of your income" idea for college is something I've thought of for a long time. And the very next topic about degrees that don't pay off or need to be offered just supports that idea. If a degree won't provide the income that makes the education worth it, it shouldn't be offered. The universities are selling snake oil, and a percentage repayment plan would put pressure on them to help students find a good career and keep a competitive set of degrees.
Agree!! Students are investing in the college for the degree, the colleges should be investing in the success of the student as well.

Totally agree. But it's crazy because at Caleb's income level (working towards 15 mill?!?!?) I barely have anything in common with him. But despite his wealth he manages to be relatable and inspiring, even to those of us who consider 1 mill aspirational.
I feel like if he wants to be in this position he should lead by example. Pay off your student loans, be debt free. Stop renting furniture. And become a certified financial advisor.

I started getting panic attacks 3 years ago. Holy smokes, I thought I was having a heart attack. What helped me was getting a smart watch and seeing I could breathe thru it and watch my heart rate go down. That made me feel more in control.
Don't stop the yelling, it's all part of what makes financial audit so entertaining and shows how much you care about the people you're helping ❤
From a girl who spent years on dating apps and never had a serious relationship with a single one of the dudes I went on dates with and then met my person at a friend of a friend of a friend's pool party... I personally never went on dates with anyone until we had a texting conversation because I had to sift through the creeps! So have that conversation with these girls and let them know you are not a creep before you ask them on a date.
A big tip when it comes to furniture is, if you got the money, it’s 100% worth to invest in Amish Furniture. They charge less than brands like Pottery Barn while lasting for a lifetime (something you definitely can’t expect from any brand furniture nowadays).

I would’ve agreed 100% until this past year or 2. My buddy had Amish build all the cabinets in his house, and the quality was bad enough that he paid to have it all redone. It was like a $30,000 job they hacked up. I have a roofing/siding company and just this year I came across 3 roofs by the Amish that I either had to fix or completely reroof. All I’m saying is don’t put blind faith into it just cuz it’s Amish made.
@@MJT.Roofing To be fair, you can inspect the furniture before buying and you can return it if it arrives defective. Roofs are a little different.

Caleb, Thanks for sharing! I used to have horrible panic attacks. I once walked out of an exam without completing it and started walking to the emergency room nearby. My therapist gave me excellent coping mechanisms. However, nothing was more effective than an accidental discovery: running. I had a panic attack earlier in the day and thought I would get another but forced myself to continue my new gym routine and go to the gym that day. I felt so much better, that to this day, if I feel panicky, I lace up my shoes and start running. Otherwise, I would spend the rest of the day fending off panic attacks. Overall, they have subsided now with me fixing some bigger issues. I wish you the best of luck!

Fantastic episode! As a person that struggles with anxiety, I was both surprised and relieved to hear someone like Caleb (whom I love) also struggle with it. I don’t wish it upon anyone, but it’s always nice to see that very successful people struggle too. It’s not something that’s easy to discuss so thank you Caleb, and thank you guys for having him.
29:57 PREACH IT!!! Car dependency is a HUGE tax most people just accept as normal. We subside parking, which takes away land from housing or parks or walkable places, and people will LOSE THEIR SHIT if they have to pay $5 to park their $65,000 SUV.

Bro,I am 53 and the epitome of the "Alpha" or "Sigma" guy with zero fears, complaints, etc. Then I got panic attacks. Look it up, it is as real as a heart attack, but much worse, because the most a heart attack can do is kill you. Like it did my best friend 2 years ago. But that sounds like a blessing in comparison. You just need to research it further. The "Just relax" and "Just need to calm down" etc just makes it worse. Because it is literally the exact same adrenaline shooting into your blood as if you just fell off a 100 story building, but doesn't stop.
@@nadiashanel5015 She is so accurate on so many levels. But with a panic disorder, evidently our prefrontal cortex has a "Flaw" ...but perhaps not. A panic disorder is a mental overreaction that used to help people live back in the days of cavemen. So it seems the opposite of modern society. However our society is pretty much based on lies holding on by a thread. If a solar event happens again like on September 2, 1859 we will all lose electricity and go back to the stone age. So perhaps being "Hyper-aware" will again be the one trait that helps humanity get through. Always remember, God does not make "Mistakes". A person shunned today for a seeming "Disorder" could in a nanosecond, become the leader of large groups of humans tomorrow to help humanity survive. 🙏❤️
@@nadiashanel5015 PS, I don't worry what anyone thinks. I am just very aware, and sometimes for seemingly no reason my body shoots adrenaline into my body creating a "Panic attack". I think you are talking about "Anxiety attacks". Which still sucks, and I feel for you, but they will go away eventually. A rare but real panic disorder, takes a warrior to survive. I am on over 30 years of true panic attacks and happy an loving life! If one hits, I now have the tools to ride it out. So I am forever grateful. ❤️🙏

Can I just say right off the bat that the lighting in this one is absolutely stellar? Jack's jawline looks amazing, and the baseball cap suits him. I think this is Caleb's studio (haven't watched in a while, but I love his stuff), so definitely integrate some of this into future podcasts, ICH!
When I bought my car in 2020, I went in with $4,000 to put down and made it clear I would not be paying more than $200 a month for a car payment. But I had severe driving anxiety, so I was only comfortable with getting a newer car that would be reliable and last me for a long time (car shopping was not an enjoyable experience for me so I don’t want to have to do it again anytime soon 😂). While I had a very good credit score for my age (21 at the time), they told me I had a “thin file” because I only had 1 credit card that I would use for subscriptions and pay off every month. So the lowest interest rate they could get me was about 7%, which put me just over $200 (if I remember correctly it was $208) for the car we had picked out (2019 VW Jetta). My dad offered to co-sign for me and it got my interest rate down to 4% and my payments to $183. I feel like financing a car is not a bad thing if people are willing to purchase within their means and not let themselves be swindled into a car they can’t afford. That’s why I brought my dad with me 😅
This is one of the many times I am disappointed with the fact that I live in Arkansas after hearing Jack say he’s also single 😅

As someone who used to have a lot of very long panic attacks but no longer has them as frequently or for as long, a bit part of that came from building my confidence in being able to handle them and being able to handle whatever life threw at me. This came from therapy and being able to look back at the data of how I dealt with things that were hard it the past and building up more examples of dealing with hard things over time. It takes time and therapy - wishing you well!
Each person, scenario, and personality feels like it avoids the repetitiveness. Plus there is a huge range of incomes. A lot of finance videos would reference a general range of income and over the decade of watching them, some were hard to identify with. These are hard cases and not easy wins. Keep it up!! 🎉
My mom (55) was financially irresponsible her whole life and eventually, when she can't work, I (23) will have to take care of her. She lives with us rent-free. She pays for her own groceries and bills now thankfully because we got her a job. But I think you all explained it perfectly. Parents are just ignorant and they don't know what they don't know. In the American education system, there needs to be a way to educate people on financial literacy before it's too late and gets to a point where their kids will have to take financial responsibility for them when they can no longer work.

Thank the world for these three right here - graham, Caleb, Jack - thank you for bringing awareness to the financial crisis we were kept blind about until it’s too late. I blame the way the govt needs debt in order for the monetary system to work - a good reason why we are NOT taught about personal finance in school. Another is bc the elites and the wealthy need us controlled, and keeping us in debt and needing to struggle and come to them (aka banks) for loans to keep afloat. It’s a sick system. So thank you guys for doing what you do!

Hey! I’m from the UK, discovered Caleb through tik tok a few months ago. And then moved over to UA-cam and I’ve been binge watching episodes ever since. I’m luckily not in a lot of debt, however his show has helped me realise that I spend far too much money on taquitos, eating out and other BS. I’m now working to a strict budget and setting a load of money to the side. I have an ambitious goal to pay off my mortgage within the next 10 years (currently have a term of 30 years).

Caleb, I really enjoy your personality. The only thing I will say is on the dating aspect, a lot of women use those annoying pleasantries to filter out the obvious red flag guys. So by jumping immediately to the date, some may be cutting you out because they haven't had time to see if you are a creep that will try to drug them.
This is true -- although I'd suggest to Caleb to add something into his profile bio like I had -- "I prefer to meet in person as soon as possible, to see if the vibes are right" -- over froyo or coffee or food, so the alcohol/creepiness issue is moot. (I'm a sober woman, engaged to my live-in fiance now, as a data point)

I agree with Graham man, start slowly introducing workouts. As a beginner few days a week will reduce the gym anxiety and once it becomes a habit you will love it. That and slowly introducing good or better food choices will go a long way, you got this Caleb!

Thank you guys for this video I loved the topics and just being openness , honesty and some laughs. Finances are so important the average American has $6,700 in credit card debt and THATS JUST CREDIT CARDS. We need someone like Caleb and graham and all the people that come onto the Channel about their situation so we can change and also pave the way for our children.
