    The best!! Thanks so much to all of you! John's discussion with Graham about how "scarcity" feeds a numbing out on reality and G's explanation of today's numbers that would make him feel safe - priceless. Subtle message but when it sinks in -- SO POWERFUL! I hope to see all of you do this again -- maybe an annual check-in? Thank you all for your inspiring, truthtelling guidance. ✨🙏

    I love Dr. Delony! I also started focusing more on how I feel when I consistently workout vs. how I look. This has shifted my mindset and made it easier to return to the gym after missing a week … or 3 weeks. And when I’m feeling really crappy, I now make sure I go to the gym instead of falling back into my old habit of drinking or impulse shopping. I’m starting to see improvement in my physique, which is a plus.

    Generosity is the ultimate prepper tool. ... at about 50-min mark Dr. Delony does such a god job of explaining how the greatest way to prepare for the worst situation is to develop a tribe of people you can count on when things get hard. ... Make yourself useful, build a strong family, integrate into a positive supporting community.

    • @elnegritolamar4689
      @elnegritolamar4689 4 місяці тому +3

      I think he was emphasizing that being a part of strong community will benefit more than have 50 mil in the bank if ish hits the fan. His main point was the best way to prepare for the worst is to not worry about it. He used the example of his banker friend who said "he will worry about it when it happens." I agree though being a part of a strong community you can trust is worth it's weight in gold.

    Great conversation. One reason I didn't go to the gym was being pressured into being a muscle man and taking all the supplements. Now I'm going to a gym where I'm allowed to exercise to feel better.
    I remember times when my parents would have problems. My mother finally learned to drive. My father would say they didn't have the money to do something they needed to do and then she would show him the budget, then things were ok. Working through the misunderstandings and helping my mother develop as a partner. We were a one car family. Seeing my parents interactions has developed me into being an encourager.

    In marriage you should start by combining 10-20% of your incomes in a joint account. You will need this for bills , etc anyway. Then as the years go by, increase that slowly, and stop at whatever number you both feel comfortable with. Overtime, as you deepen the trust in your marriage, I think you’ll find both people start to feel more comfortable with the option they didn’t like at first. You may end up sharing everything or you may end up sharing only 25%. But I think it helps you organically get to your best place as you build trust over time. This is what my wife and I do .

    Thats how my husband and I met. He was my brothers best friend. The difference was my brother didnt want us to date. He was pretty mad at first. He didnt accept it until my brother's girlfriend asked him "would you rather your sister be with someone you know and trust, or someone you dont know anything about?" From that day on we had his blessing. They stopped being close for a long time but they still get along very well. He probably never thought our relationship would last this long. It'll be 20 years this summer.

    Dr. D brought up existentialism therapy in psychology. Studying existentialism is a real life changer for me. If your not religious it will fill that hole that religious people say fills that hole. ❤

      @@christiaanbotha6247 Rewatch this and listen to Graham's language. He doesn't get it. Wants to think people are ALL choosing to make bad decisions, end up in bad circumstances. It's all black and white, good and bad, extremes... and because of that, he'll expect perfection before he can really connect. He's not going to be capable of living a fulfilled, happy life walking around with those assumptions because humans will fail SOME time. Delony was amazing, and so different of a conversation for Graham. I really hope he keeps coming back for all of us AND Graham.

    Love the podcast and I've been listening for a long time.
    Just a heads up, I usually listen on Apple Podcasts and I don't know if you've listened but the audio mix on Apple is horrible.
    It's so unbelievably quit that I have to blast my volume in order to hear it.
    Every other podcast is set to like 10 in my car and yours has to be cranked to like 40 to hear it.
