Big thanks Robot, six years into my current GTS 300and two changes of rear brake pads including applying ‘copper ease’ to the rear of the pads I’m still squealing! Now I believe I have the answer! Great 👍😉
Robot & ScooterWest - u r the best !! Your great vids buy you a lot of kudos, and I hope that translates to boosted sales in the US and worldwide. From Australia, I had already ordered a couple of your eye catching ScooterWest decals (a kind of advertising, too, I suppose), and the quality of this channel encourages me to prefer ScooterWest when possible. Many thanks for strengthening the Vespa enthusiast community, you absolute champions.
Thank you so much Robot!!! I managed to get it fixed with the wheels on. Sh1t happened because the pads went in but once again I managed to pull them with super strong double sided tape attached to my fingers and screwdriver 😅 Now it has good tension and the squealing is gone. Thanks once again Robot! Subbed! ❤
Thank you for the great advice on the shims. One shim cut into two halves seems to have quieted the very loud rear brakes on my Scarabeo 500ie, after replacing the pads and lightly greasing the piston contact points made no difference.
Thx so much , my front brakes have been intermittently squeeking everytime I use them , paid £50 to the mechanic just for nothing and now hopefully this will fix it , ill let u know if it was the problem
Hey Robot, I really like your video´s, they have taught me a lot. Could you please do one on how to adress the vespa gts steering wobble? My Vespa has a really hefty wobble when i ease off the throttle and take my hands of the handlebar. Is there a steeringdamper kit for this problem or another solution to get rid of the steering wobble? Grtz from Europe...
@@Jimo368 Thanks for the tips. I already have the heavy handlebar weights. But I checked the front wheel and it doesn´t seem to have balancing weights. So the plan is now to get the front wheel balanced....
@@koeksch6926 Correct tyre pressure is essential, it won't cure it but it will limit it. All Gts's have this issue as far as I know. My current one is a 2018 and it does it. A few years back the modified the front forks to alleviate this but after a couple of years they went back to the earlier design. I can't fine out why.
I just bought a brand new GTS 300 and the squeal has already started. At about 500miles. I thought I hit a pothole or something to cause this. What causes this issue? Also do you think it's unusual that a brand new GTS would already have this issue? Thanks so much for these helpful videos!

Good news on monday evening: Robot Video! Greetings from Cologne, Germay
Hope you enjoyed it!
Thanks Robot. I love your videos. Proud owner of a 2004 GT200. I have that horrible brake squeal. I will tackle it this weekend using this tutorial.
You can do it!
Great job again Robot! My rear brake start squeal. Thank you a lot.
Glad to help

That’s pretty common. My GTS does it too. Perhaps try a heavier bar end weight or check wheel balance.

Do these fit on a Vespa Sprint 2017 50cc. The brake caliper is the same as the LX, S models and not the GTS
Are you referring to the anti squeal pads? If so, yes. They are a universal material that you trim to the size you need. Thanks!

Did you ever figure out what was causing your Squeaking? I have the same issue brand new Gts 300

Some copper grease will work just as well.
