i have so many friends but only four of them make me feel comfortable, .everytime i go out with my (other) friends i always feel like i don't belong with them, i alway feel lonely when i'm with them.....this song really describes how i felt when i still haven't met my best friends, always feeling lonely and don't have anyone to talk to.
The swinging as a background video actually made me relate to this even more. At my elementary school, being on the swingsets meant one of two things: you were either lonely or you were there with a bunch of friends. I was the first of the two. My school is pretty small. Everyone in a grade level knows each other. As such, everyone knew me, but nobody really cared to be friends with me. Anyone who did always ended up transferring at some point. I was really lonely. The walking in the grass was the other thing you did when you were lonely, because you got to see everyone else having fun in their groups. Even now, when I have a good few friends, I’m always the one in the background that it probably wouldnt matter if I disappeared.

Since everyone is venting on here, I thought I would too because I never told anyone this. I dance and I've been friends with five other girls ever since I was 3 and I never felt left out. And then as we got older, new people sort of came into the group and I wasn't close with them because I'm the only one that doesn't go to their school. That made me stop talking when we would hangout. And now it feels like I'm not even close to the original five friends but they are close to each other if that makes any sense. Anyways, I still get invited to parties and stuff but I just listen and when I do say something, no one hears it or they just ignore me. But I don't think they know I feel this way. It just sucks because I will never be as close to them as they are with each other. I don't remember getting quiet, but now it feels like I can't escape it. I'm crying ahh. But, they have allowed students to go back to school physically now and I'm in the second week, (I supposed?) And yea, I go back to school like the normal days, five times a week. the words "ride my bike like all of us used to do" speaks to me soo much. I used to ride my bike with my neighbors all the time when I was little. I moved to a really hilly neighborhood when I was 10, and no one here rides bikes because of that. I still do, but I have a large enough driveway that's pretty level. Anyways, especially now that I'm homeschooled this year because of corona, none of my old friends hang out with me anymore cuz they're all in normal school. This is the reason I always wait when someone's tying their shoes while everyone moves ahead. I know what it feels like to have one leg sort of limping because the grass is lower than the sidewalk. Felt this. High school has been hard for me.I find it hard to socialize and try things, I find it hard to cope with my extroverted and very talented classmates. One time, my friends and I were doing a homework, where we had to write an essay about our best friends, my best friend chose to write about me, so I did the same. In the essay, we had to write about our best friend's good qualities and what we learnt from them. My best friend asked me in a teasing way, 'umm what good qualities do you have? I cant think of any' Then my other friend retorted "I dont think she has any qualities you could learn from" Honestly, that stung. A lot. i tried to laugh it off but instead i only buried the feelings at the back of my mind. The next night, I ended up crying myself to sleep. I didnt think it would hurt me that much but maybe ts because i value their opinions of me so much. But i guess they just... idk dont see me as a nice person? Sometimes I feel like im a waste of space, but dont we all? :/

i have so many friends but only four of them make me feel comfortable, .everytime i go out with my (other) friends i always feel like i don't belong with them, i alway feel lonely when i'm with them.....this song really describes how i felt when i still haven't met my best friends, always feeling lonely and don't have anyone to talk to.
The swinging as a background video actually made me relate to this even more. At my elementary school, being on the swingsets meant one of two things: you were either lonely or you were there with a bunch of friends. I was the first of the two. My school is pretty small. Everyone in a grade level knows each other. As such, everyone knew me, but nobody really cared to be friends with me. Anyone who did always ended up transferring at some point. I was really lonely. The walking in the grass was the other thing you did when you were lonely, because you got to see everyone else having fun in their groups. Even now, when I have a good few friends, I’m always the one in the background that it probably wouldnt matter if I disappeared.

Since everyone is venting on here, I thought I would too because I never told anyone this.
I dance and I've been friends with five other girls ever since I was 3 and I never felt left out. And then as we got older, new people sort of came into the group and I wasn't close with them because I'm the only one that doesn't go to their school. That made me stop talking when we would hangout. And now it feels like I'm not even close to the original five friends but they are close to each other if that makes any sense. Anyways, I still get invited to parties and stuff but I just listen and when I do say something, no one hears it or they just ignore me. But I don't think they know I feel this way. It just sucks because I will never be as close to them as they are with each other. I don't remember getting quiet, but now it feels like I can't escape it. I'm crying ahh.

Honestly though, that it so true. I actually have started calling myself everyone's second friend. Like when their best friends aren't around they will talk to me and act like we are best buds. But when their other friends come it's like I don't even exist.

The one that would encourage you to join the photo. The one that would come play with you. The on that would listen to you. The one that would explain the inside joke to you. The one that would be there for you. Because that feeling hurts. It really does, feeling like your not welcome, feeling like no one wants you there. Feeling left out. Certainly getting hurt does make you a bit bitter, but I often end up helping people who go thru the same situation because you know how it hurts
This is the reason I always wait when someone's tying their shoes while everyone moves ahead. I know what it feels like to have one leg sort of limping because the grass is lower than the sidewalk. I'm always forgotten, and that's why I know when people feel left out. I make them feel welcome because I care(although they don't care about me).

Wow I totally forgot about this comment. Looking back on it, this was a really low point in my life. I'm so much better now. For anyone who sees this, you'll meet someone who values you and loves you. Someone who supports you and pushes you to be the best version of yourself. Someone you can be your authentic self around. I met that person. And then I met myself. I got to know myself and eventually I changed. I grew. I started seeing in color again.
Keep going, dont give up, and don't give your heart or your time to someone who hurts you. Even if they "don't mean it." Don't settle for them. You deserve the best for yourself. Learn to love yourself. Even if it sounds corny, its the root of all confidence and healthy love. So wear what you want, do what you want, and keep your head up high. You can do it.

I'm always there when they need me, I always make time to address their concerns but when I'm the one who needs them they're not there for me :( I found this song because I'm feeling sentimental tonight and I searched "A song for neglected" and here I am. High school has been hard for me.I find it hard to socialize and try things, I find it hard to cope with my extroverted and very talented classmates. These past years have been overwhelming and exhausting for me. I hope my hobbies can still keep me sane.

same for me, I feel like I put up a front in school so everyone just thinks im this happy go lucky girl that hasnt gone through shit. I take joke very personally sometimes because i know that it stems from the truth, yet I always laugh off my hurt and that in turn compels my friends to tease me more.
One time, a boy in my school said that I looked similar to my best friend, then afterwards said, except for the fact that I was fat. My best friend, laughed. And eventhough it was just a 'joke' those words still echo through my mind because I know that everyones loves my best friend but not me.
One time, my friends and I were doing a homework, where we had to write an essay about our best friends, my best friend chose to write about me, so I did the same. In the essay, we had to write about our best friend's good qualities and what we learnt from them. My best friend asked me in a teasing way, 'umm what good qualities do you have? I cant think of any' Then my other friend retorted "I dont think she has any qualities you could learn from"
Honestly, that stung. A lot. i tried to laugh it off but instead i only buried the feelings at the back of my mind. The next night, I ended up crying myself to sleep.

No one is prolly going to see this but I had this major group of friends. I stopped hanging out at their lunch table because they never talked to me they just used me for snacks and to get laughs from taking my phone, destroying my food, and ruining my stuff. I still remember the feeling of rushing back to class starving after having all my food destroyed or taken and being made fun of. I remember rushing into the classroom and a kid slamming me into this piece metal, the teacher seeing but not saying anything, kids laughing and my hip bruised and bleeding. At that moment I knew I was never wanted
