The fact that you didn't list the Frederick watershed list invalidates everything else you listed. Frederick is by far the best trail system in Maryland. Patapsco would be second because of the length and variety of trails it offers to all riders of all skill levels. Rosaryville, Fairland, Schaeffer and Bacon Ridge are all great, but they're a very similar riding experience. Nothing comes close to touching the shed.
Does the watershed have good XC trails? And any recommendations? I used to do freeride/downhill like 10 years ago there so only associate it with that riding.
Great list and I love each of the trails you mentioned. I still need to explore Shaeffer and Patapsco more. I thought you would have mentioned Fredrick Watershed. Although I haven't been to the watershed yet, It's on my bucket list. Great video (& videos). Looking forward to more. Ride safe and have fun.
ive been to the watershed a few times and i know people speak highly of it, but as a newb i don't find it very fun. It's very technical and advanced, and experienced riders might enjoy it more than riders who like flowy trails like me.
i knew it would be a bit controversial. I went to the watershed a few times and hated it. I know that it's because im just a newb and the more technical stuff is much harder for me, but i didn't enjoy it. The frederick watershed deserves it's own video, i hope to be better one day that i will learn to like it. 😁
I appreciate the effort, I can’t say I agree with this list at all. But I will say if you like that style of riding you really need to check out Fair Hill in top right corner of MD. Perfect easy flow trails. If that’s too far of a ride you will like Little Gunpowder. It has a little of everything. Also The Shed is beloved by locals. Which I am not. The relentless never ending rock gardens make it a once a year visit for me. Keep riding man!
I understand, I feel like I need a full suspension bike just for it. I have a Hardtail. I will work my way up to it. There are plenty of trails to ride until then. 👍🏾
You forgot Western Maryland, some of the best riding is in Western Maryland!! Rocky Gap, Dans Mt State Park, Deep Creek State Park, and a new trail they are building at Garret County. If you want climbs? Western Md, from Cumber4land west has mountains!
I recently purchased an emtb. Just moved to DMV area last summer. This summer actually have time to enjoy the area. Thank you for the upload!! I already road a couple of road biking trails like W &OD, part of the C&O canal trail(from harperferry to fort Washington), and a few more around dc. Haven't rode a bike in like 12, 13 years. So I wanted to warm up my legs and butt b4 I tackle mountain biking.
Hey there. It seems people move to the petapsco area just to be closer to all those trails. Elliott city for example. Burtonsville has tons of group rides
I choose neither the Frederick watershed nor Patapsco because they are a horrid mess of over lapping and crisscrossing trails making navigation nightmarish. Don't know how many times I have made a wrong turn(yes even with gps) and then had to stop turn around and backtrack.
No LGP, no Fair Hill, no Watershed...but including Rosaryville and Fairland? What are you thinking? Also, Bacon Ridge is fun but definitely not better than Schaeffer, Patapsco, LGP, or Fair Hill in terms of quantity, quality, variety, or culture.
Rosaryville is in good shape now too it’s my local. Bacon and waterworks are awesome too. Cosca park in Clinton is super underrated and they added more trails. It’s like a mix of rosaryville and cedarville . I need to try fairland my grandma use to live by there , had no idea they had trails.
Im only aware of a area where you have to pay for parking. I've parked at avalon, rockburn and those are all free. YOu can enter there and ride for free.

Can't say i like the watershed. I prefer flowing trails. Maybe with more experience i will learn to appreciate it more.

the shed is absolutely peak and nothing comes even remotely close
The watershed is extremely technical, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is just getting into the sport.
@@maksst8880 fair, but for experienced riders nothing else compares
Where does Fair Hill land on the list of Maryland trails?

@@bikingmisadventures I agree 100%, as an older rider the watershed is too technical.
agree! the shed rocks!
What about Deep Creek?
I like how u prioritized youre bike purchase over your car purchase. Worth it.
Watershed Frederick MD ?

Add in Waterworks, about a mile and a half down the road from Bacon’s, and you’ve got a 30+ mile loop to explore.

What you recommended for hardtails? I'm new to to maryland. Just moved here last summer
@@alvink566Roscoe 9 or 8 are both very good bikes that come with fairly decent parts. They are on sale right now too.
@@MrWolf2212 I think he meant trails not bikes.
Bacon is fantastic. Rocks? not many. Hills? Never ending.

No sorry I dont want climbs I would like to see Deep Creek resort add a bike park for the Summer to their ski slopes.
@@virginiascurti5036 they had a bike for a few years. The last year was 2019 I think. I loved it there but no one was riding there
A state map showing where your choices would be nice, plus the amount of trails at each location.
Check out the mountainbikingproject.com it has great maps

What is the best place to live in MD to get to these trails? Thank you for your time and effort.
Hey there. It seems people move to the petapsco area just to be closer to all those trails. Elliott city for example. Burtonsville has tons of group rides
Move to Annapolis area and you get both Bacon’s Ridge and Waterworks plus the Chesapeake Bay.

Patapsco Valley State Park is NOT free. There is a fee to enter the park. $2/car weekdays and $3/person on weekends.

What about water works and watershed , seneca old gun powder and so many more lol
My dude, you didn’t mention anything in Allegany or Garrett county. What the heck?
Greenridge makes every trail you mention look pathetic. You know nothing about MTB in MD.
Ive been to greenridge a few times. Most of these trails are local to the DMV area.
Good old school hardtail ride with lots of climbing.
