I was ready to relegate Forza Motorsport to being a controller game exclusively but I tried your settings as a last ditch effort and they made a surprising difference! It's made that weird grip drop-off feeling more bearable. It's still there and still unrealistic, but I feel like I can actually tell what the car is doing now.
OMG thank you for this! Been totaly new to SIM Racing and bought an Moza R5. Would have never gotten this experience out of it without your guide! Thank you so much!
Well my friend. I'm all over your new video as I'm displayed as your newest subscriber. We discussed the "sloppyness" on the last settings and you mentioned it right away here. Not only have you corrected that, everything thing just feels so much better. I was in the middle of the miata (mx5) cup and dialed in your new settings. Felt amazing through the bends on Virginia Raceway, which is no joke btw. But then the ultimate test. finished that and went back to my rivals at Catalunya with my C8Z06 and with my 2nd lap I beat my controller (xbox) record. I can't believe it. I copied everything to a T with my moza R12. thank you so much - James
So glad to hear that mate, i've done hours and hours of testing and fine tuning and i do think these are probably the best MOZA settings i've come across. spread the word mate.... :)
@metzVR so I just completed the career and let me tell you, can re confirm that your settings are spot on for at least the R12. Every car felt different but correct. The older NSX for example feels light in the front end while steering but the engine is in the back. The 86 corolla feels feels stiff to turn but I think those had manual racks. It's just great. I know I'm repeating myself but thanks to your settings, I think this game is the most fun career I've ever played. Not nearly as long as FM7 unfortunately but great fun. Because of the car progression system, it made mods more strategic and while only being able to do 1 or 2 here and there, it allowed you to fully appreciate each upgrade. I know people just want everything unlocked but that's not the most fun way. I'm a mechanic, and a drag racer, I get the thirst most have to just blast every part at the car. But I think Forza did it right this time. The mods you select mean so much more, and at least you can mod during career mode unlike 7. Thanks again, so happy I found your video.
These settings are nice. Subscibed and liked! I was running very different setting before but managed to match my top 5% nordschleife rivals time in 2 laps with these and much less effort. Definately think I can go quicker with these settings. Thanks for sharing.
Im new to moza, after using the thrustmaster t248 on forza i ditched the game for months as it was unplayable, but these settings on my r5 are amazing, thank you!
@@unshapedcobra1082 did the game just recognize your wheel? or did you have to put every key for custom input? sry to bother you i just cant get into the game. mine is Moza R3.
@4everforever-ib1cc your not bothering me at all, sadly it didn't recognise it straight off the bat I had to download something off the moza website and put it into the game files, this was done by clicking config on the pithouse software, and then I had to custom input buttons for activating events etc, but the wheel and pedals worked without having to map them. I'm surprised the r3 wasn't recognised straight away since it was designed for xbox, id have assumed it would have been like plugging an xbox controller in
@@unshapedcobra1082 ah the only problem for me is that the steering cannot get recognized. everything else i can customize but i just dont know how to set for steering. in short, i cant turn my cars left or right…so i beilieve downloading something might have helped r5s wheel and pedal to work fine. looking at the moza homepage, concerning forza motorsport it only shows that just putting few things ingame. i dont know how to solve sigh. in the moza pit house, theres nothing happens if i click config.
Great video earned my sub. I would absolutely kill for a video like this for Forza horizon 5. I cant for the love of god get my R5 feeling nice in that game.
Have to say this game is just weird all the forzas are but this last update changed something for wheel guys ! Your settings were better than mine so thanks for that but went and played AMS2 last night and omg the difference is crazy, but at least Forza is playable again on my wheel thanks man
great video and thank you so much! my problem with my R5 is, that i can't get rid of that "deadzone on a straight" you mention. in every lap there comes a point where my wheel feels "light" and i can move my wheel left to right without any movement and then suddenly the steering is back and i completely miss the corner entry. it just feels really weird and forza is no fun like this. i don't have any problems in titles like AC, ACC or F123. i really regret buying the R5 because with my old logitech G29, i hat no problems at all in forza motorsport :(
Hi, after trying your setup for some time and after a few more videos. Try your same setup but try raising the Wheel Damping Scale to around 100. This will reduce dead zone in yhe middle. Let me know once you try it.
I completely removed the deadzone in the middle through my pit house software. i had a little go yesterday and made a minor adjustment to the ffb curve, completely eliminated the deadzone! :)
Once again you are Right, adjusted the FFB curve on MOZA pit house and completly eliminated the dead zone. The on game setting wheel damping scale now makes no diference.
The deadzone in the middle done my head in but i found that by pausing the game and turning base on and off gets rid of It and on the odd occasion it doesnt then just restart forza get in a car pause game and knock base on and off. Bit of a hassle but the difference is mind blowing.
Just got my R3 up and running few hours ago. At first i couldnt get the car to move, recalibrate my pedal, reassigning the pedal in the forza, then it works. But then something when wrong where the car will stuck at reverse gear and reverse all the way. Restart the xbox and the wheel back only then it works. The car is moving but no ffb at all. Looking at the advanced wheel setting and copy other redditors setting, still doesn’t works. Came across your video, copy everything settings in games and pithouse and thank god it works! Thank you so much. It is kind of a work out driving with my R3 now but i like the feedback of the car that the settings gave me. But one question, what setting should i adjust if I want to feel every kerb? At the moment every time i drove onto the kerb, doesnt feel anything. Thank you in advance!
@@TrueBlade-1889 thanks man. Did adjust with those settings you’ve mentioned but on the nordschleife, every time i hit the kerb, there’s nothing came in. Maybe it’s just that track as for other tracks it work fine

Did they just have an update or something my ffb is way off don’t even feel like playing it no more tried these setting and they weren’t working no more and can’t find nothing updated
Does your moza ever lose connection entirely with the game? Suddenly no steering, throttle, brake, or buttons and Forza says "Lost connection"? This keeps happening to me and i cannot find a solution.
can't say i have had that problem buddy! can only suggest swapping round some USB ports. sdeems very odd. is it just to the game? do you still have inputs in pithouse?
I can switch around the USB port I plug into... Haven't tried them all. Happens to me in rfactor2 as well. Moza has no idea either. Thanks for the idea.
Worst thing: different tracks need different settings. Dial in for Brands Hatch and then try Laguna Seca ... same car. LS is like an ice rink. Unbelievable ... unless you know Turn10 from old.
I would imagine yes.... same software etc. you may need to add a little more ffb effect's in-game but as a baseline... i honestly don't think there's anything better around at the moment.
I thought it was just me but these settings made the FFB incredibly heavy/stiff. I felt like I was getting a workout and that my R5 was working harder than it should be. It's unfortunate, I do think FM23 takes way too much fiddling to get right. Some presets would have been great but given the general state of the game, I'm not holding my breath.

the settings that you need to play around with are pneumatic and mechanical trail and also steering self alignment.
