It feels like it's still Phase 1. Same exploiters exploiting. Server performance problems that had been getting a lot better have actually been worse thanks to the population overload that actually exacerbated the known flaws in the design. Bugs seem more prevalent than before (but that's just how it feels, data may say otherwise). So Phase 2 has been very disappointing for a Phase Launch. A lot of the player population will depend on how/what they do in terms of exploiter discipline. The exploit from the start has had a very real and all encompassing (in terms of systems) effect on Vyra. A lot of guild things are waiting for the changes before moving forward, so to speak. The broken node XP stuff messed up a lot of things too. Now all that being said, we know it was the holidays, etc. So I fully expect things to get a lot of dev attention once they are back to work. Intrepid has done a lot of good things every time so far, so I'll be giving them the benefit of the doubt. The game stuff will get fixed, no doubt. The only real doubt will be the cheater discipline. As a security engineer, this is not a surprise. Corporate America does not care about security unless they get fined. Gaming companies are even worse because they just hope they get enough money coming in to keep people from quitting because of all of the cheats. They don't even have to deal with regulations. It's a cat and mouse game with exploiters considering the money involved in bots and everything else and then you have the "0-day" cheats that everyone uses to get ahead quickly in game that are fixed relatively quick. Gaming companies cringe at the myriad of cloud charges let alone the thought of having to pay an application security developer at a $150-160K starting salary for a senior level guy (because you don't hire anyone green for this type of work). Sad but true and it will never change.
Narc quitting is probably the most shocking news. The guy was making content when the game wasn't even out for years. And now the game finally releases and he can actually make realistic content, he decides to quit? What on earth happened these past few months of alpha LMAO
Narc is actually a really comfy guy. You can tell if you chat with him, especially on disc. It was no surprise hyper toxic players would Frick his anxiety and highlight the worst parts of this game. Poor guy
@@outforbeer might be even more. i predict people will going against this game and say its a scam and ask for refund. while the devs working their asses off. MMO's are not made in 4 years or even in 6 years.

Phase 2 is 5 months with 5 days a week, compared to phase 1 at what, 2 months of 2.5 days a week?100+ test days compared to only 30 days or so total? So theres a whole lot more time to stress test and see how everything stretches and shakes out.

I’ve been enjoying phase 2 despite all the current issues. Vyra did hit very high toxicity and it definitely came from the Resna guilds that migrated. Training mobs through other grind groups is not peak PvP but they seem to think it’s a flex. The silver lining for me is that it’s made getting to 25 with some decent gear even more satisfying. The new dungeon is pretty cool when Bellowsmasher isn’t bugged out and camping at the entrance area making it annoying to get past. The marketplace was a good addition too as it’s made acquiring gear and resources you might have had trouble getting a bit easier. Freeholds are a let down for now but at least a placeholder is live. It’s a bit rough but still loving being a glorious tester!
Woah woah woah. It's not cause he can cut diamonds on that jawline. Tank now apart from PvE is mostly useless, I still have fun sure but damm I sure cant wait for that balance patch we need buff both in PvP and PvE, Steven needs to permaban people that exploit and ruin the economy...the same guilds that did it in phase1.
Did you watch the tank in the 1v1 tourney? Sun was cracked, think he came second overall and lost to bard which has a has a bug with wand where it can apply 39 stacks of shocked instantly and pop them all with the wand finisher, around 2k-3k damage with autos and a finisher, complete oversight with the design with bard and the wand.
@@brimstonevalar6053 yea but what do you want them to do? More damage than a dps? The damage is solid for being a tank, they are a cc bot and front line sponge in large scale that is the job of the tank. The tanks I play with seem great at their job, if they wanted to be the “main character” they would reroll a DPS
Deleting characters will literally do nothing. You don't think these dudes have already laundered like thousands of gold and gear sets to non exploiting accounts? Of course they have. If all they get is a delete they'll be back to 25 within a week still controlling everything with I'll gotten money and gear. They need to be perma banned and invited to play a different game. These people are disgusting. POLAR and ENVEOUS guild members should all be banned whole sale.
To be fair, I'm not an enveus fan and I don't know about polar, but enveus leveled pretty legit, they grinded super hard, was no exploiting, I can't speak for polar though

I am enjoying the game for what it is, but my issue is that there is so much false advertising with this game it's really frustrating, gathering is not as shown in the live streams, crafting is neither, character models are trash, weathering system is complete garbage compared to advertisement, and now they expect us to grind another 150 hours for 0 new content P2 delivered no new classes No new weapons No new zones No new races ( if you really think these new races are not just re coloured humans you are crazy ) dwarf looks meh but I guess it's okay I understand that all of this is suppose to be in by the end of 02 but releasing the new phase with literally nothing is wild to me, there open development is just marketing manipulation imo
I popped into a Narc stream and this dude was GOING OFF on the game, saying it was just another Star Citizen. He was absolutely FARMING the haters and his chat was just full of people talking trash about the game. I was really surprised how drastically the stream changed compared to when I watched him on Phase 1. I’m not sure what happened but he said he was taking a break from the game so hopefully it becomes better and he can come back and have fun.
As a KS backer I'm noticing Star Citizen like tropes. So Narc might have his echo chamber on Twitch but he's not entirely wrong with his criticism of Ashes and how Steven is handling it
Event Farming is not something new to MMOs. He should think "Why do players feel the need to do this?" and fix that... also people are getting sick of everything" outside of TOS" B.S .. Then he says go test this alpha, but nothing changed from Phase 1 to 2 in terms of lvling. Making gear Nerfs, adding HP to mobs, and throwing 3 times the amount of players to the same 4 to 5 leveling zones its not fun. I knew Phase 2 starting Dec 20 was a bad idea, but damn, I was not expecting such a shit show. BUT!!!! It's all ok guys, because guards have Santa hats.
LOL. Yea im really hoping to see the leveling experience change soon. Spoke about it in a previous video. I think a good temporary fix is to boost xp given to commissions and node buy orders
I could be wrong, but if i remember correctly last time there was mass exploiting that was intentional and harmful to the game they kicked them out of alpha. First day playing phase 2, and its way smoother than its ever been, and lynneth seems pretty chill right now. Also way more lively, 7am east coast and running into packs of players everywhere.
Lyneth Server has been pretty nyce. No outstanding toxicity, as far as I've seen, and the nodes are working together again to cover all artisan buildings. Thanks for the vid, hope your holidays have been well. Looking forward to the next upload!
great video glade to see honest feed back of the game. hopefully Intrepid punishes the exploiters but I also think they need to step back and look at there lvling and give us more viable options then standing at the same spot killing the same mobs over and over.

It's been good for the most part, even on Vyra. Issues I've had are with griefers (Envious & the barcode guild), exploiters, and lack of resources due to population
Man I feel this way about fighter. Theres only a few classes that feel complete imo. Fighter feels like it was rushed and a mixture of leftover abilities from other classes.

@@wanderin_aimlessly I’ve seen this sentiment a lot. There is finding bugs and issues/flaws in systems. Then there’s abusing and exploiting those issues constantly for personal gain. Exploiting guild wars on this server has already made the economical data flawed and different than it’ll be had this not been the case. So yes we’re supposed to be finding things, but not exploiting them. There’s exploitation to bring attention to something and there’s outright cheating
The mob leash griefing is the worse thing currently in this phase. Sol deus on EU have been griefing for hours on end. they're all level 25 against level 10-20 and they hardly flag unless a caravan is involved.
also to note a common pvp strat I find is dps players flagging first and as soon as they're about to die their clerics will flag and mass heal this makes the clerics basically untargetable for the start of pvp. I think they should force a whole group to flag if they ingage in combat/pvp
Toxicity. Humans cant help themselves but bring their worst while hiding behind a screen. The mage effects look fancy, though I wish the class werent so focused on elemental stuff
I've played most MMO's ARPG's and MOBAs and the new Vyra server has had the most vile and toxic people I've ever experienced. It's nearly enough to make me quit. Nearly.
The phase 2 start was rushed and poorly thought out. The server pruning I understand as they want to test server support..but it really killed any enthusiasm I had for playing. I'm waiting for another server to get added , or at least more content. The lack of promised features for launch of phase 2, when it was shown a few days before, felt very disingenuous to me. Honestly the open dev was always going to bite Intrepid in the ass a bit but im hopeful the state of the alpha will be fixed on the 6th and Ill feel drawn back into the game.
@@veil1792 agreed I think long term, those people will weed themselves out and realize it’s not for them which is why I’m actually glad we have less servers for populations sake. Some people also feel like the term alpha makes a project or company void of being spoken about in any non hyping manner and need to go outside
Isn't most of this the point of an alpha though? Aren't you supposed to be finding things that need to be fixed and try to break the game so that the dev's can resolve these issues by launch?

I'm hoping on launch there will be an RP server. It seems to me the more toxic elements seem to gravitate towards wherever the biggest streamers are. People are playing the Alpha like a final game and it's leading to frustration. Big mistake! Exploits are great! Fix them as they are found so they will not be there at release. Someone exploited to top level. So what. Exploit ID'd and gets fixed. Play every class to at least level 10 to get a feel for how it plays. Try crafting and harvesting to figure out which you find has the best feel and return on effort for you. Explore the map. Go to areas you've never been and see what is there. Do not burn yourself out playing Alpha. Take breaks. Have the right mind set. You are a tester. The game is getting better with every patch.
I just hope the game gets actual content soon... currently it feels somehow lesser than A1, like the lack of quests and things to do other than grind and gather.
By the way, who cares about them being able to make 6k concurrent players in one biome when it will never happen in the real world when the game eventually launches? We will have like 10k+ players in 18 biomes where we gonna have 4 starting zones and probably queues so people got some time to leave starting zones and not bug out. Why we need to test 6k players in one zone without working quests or any other things to do other than grind? This is just bullshit. EDIT: How can we praise steven for talking on their discord or reddit? We do it all the time and it takes like a 20-30 minutes per day to answer like 10 topics posted there. It is not a huge work to do, let's be real...

Not expecting it to be played as a game right now but as a true test. I enjoy it but the node system is what frightens me from day 1 of them telling us about it keeps being somewhat confirmed the more i see. I think it will be very toxic and also you can truelly be on a bad server where your nodes suck while on another server you see a lot of good shit on that specific village f.e.
i like how your not meant to be upset when you get killed by bugs but exploiting is this massive ban able Offence like afk farming in steel bloom is a bit f but if i get penalized dying to a mob that glitched on to me u can get f if you think im going to farm that off normally

Well hey… thanks for spending the time and money to test the game for all of us who are keeping an eye on the game from a distance. Seriously, whenever the game does officially launch, it will be leaps and bounds better because of the loyal fans of the game such as yourself! The last thing we want is another New World development flop 🤦🏼♂️
Gamers want to game, not to test, most people that bought the alpha key seems to not know that, and I feel 0 pity for them. I want to game, so, I don’t buy alpha keys. People seemed to expect a beta type of gameplay on an alpha. Alpha is for the most basic of the stuff. Is not wise to waste dev time on short term problems caused by people wanting to play this like a full game. Wasting time on alts and banning cheating players, when they could just fix the exploit and move on. There is something good about keeping cheaters around during testing, “THEY FIND WAYS TO CHEAT!”
I'm not very happy with the way the game exists now. Too many exploiters, too many mob trainers, bad respawn rates and too much griefing. Hopefulyl that will alter eventually. I think there's been a lot of good conversation about areas more balance is needed and ideas for that. There's way too much xp debt and too many bugs around said debt. The player toxicity and the lack of recourse for lowbies vs said griefers is not fun. I am giving props on the server meshing and capacity. I've had very few huge crashes but there's a lot of silent crashing. I'd really like so direction from Interpid on what they are looking for test wise, because I don't actually expect, "just playing the game" is a feasible thing to ask. So much is unsurprisingly incomplete that actual objectives might help those of us who don't spend out time griefing and exploiting to give them better and more useful information.
it seems like this game is not for the normal person. its not in a state to produce gameplay that will give me a good idea if this game is worth it. it seems like steven has given the players to much control and should be implementing systems that stomp out abuse. The current build could nuke the game and create industry image he cant escape.
Asmon should level off stream or have some protection groups set up prior to playing on stream. It would be cool to have an Asmon guild to rival the pirates
ive had more fun in phase 2 then phase 1 forsure. would love some more varity in content, questing ect... maybe knock down the grind. if your behind your guild and forced to play with PUGs it can get frusteraiting really quick. playing the same pulls in mob camp for days on end can get a bit boring. The biggest problem this game will have will be the community. Being that it is so hyped, it is going to draw in the worst kinds of people. The vocal minority will be out in droves, and Content Creator/Streamer interest will be boon initially but as soon as they see the community becoming negative, they will also get negative for the clicks and views.
I truly hope not to see any more streamers or community as a whole get negative. I think we should encourage feedback just like Intrepid wants but keep it reasonable
It’s a game that doesn’t need streamers- this is a old school PvP game and all the OGs are coming back for this one. Either streamers stop crying and learn to grow a pair or they will scream in shame everytime they loose a verbal argument in chat- telling people they make 10k a month on bots. @@timfink7980 Already had my worth of fun for the 120bucks, for 2months, pvp, political drama and crazyness, despite stuttering, rubberbanding etc.. all that is just nostalgia at this point, could play this in black and white and still have fun
The big problem as I see it is that they have got the main adventuring/PvX part of the game enjoyable, absorbing and competitive. I have no doubt that node sieges, raid PvE content, open word PvP and so on will be very enjoyable. Unfortunately what goes with this, is that this content, in order to make it a challenge and non-trivial, is gated behind grinding, levelling, Node building, artisan skills, augments, and the economy. As of right now this is solo content, and just doesn't fit the group paradigm. Unless you are one of the solo-able classes, the game is practically unplayable, and even as a ranger or mage, it is more a case of levelling to max, and then going back to test the now trivialized content. For me, the problem is going to be how they make the open world content solo friendly, or if they can make individual levelling group friendly. I as a cleric say, want to level from 2-20, levelling religion, my node, mining and jewelry, all at the same time. Can I find a group that will fit those grinding goals, with a viable mix of classes, or do they have to make levelling solo friendly. I don't think the game will work, if everyone leaves levelling nodes to after they get to max-level adventuring. Overall, the non-adventuring/solo, levelling, building game, has to be as entertaining/rewarding as the stop-gap adventuring game was. However, building nodes and levelling skills seems to be viewed as an investment. Given that Group PvX, is going to be the focus of the endgame. It is really hard to get people to invest in Solo PvE building, when the entire Philosophy of the game, indicates that they are going to reward/encourage Group PvX; unless the builders can protect their creations, that investment isn't going to pay out at all. The warriors will just run a protection racket, which was the basis of the feudal system. It is really hard to understand what my motivation is to build nodes and artisan skills, instead of just waiting for someone else to do it. This may be an accurate modelling of the medieval high fantasy genre, with the aristocrat and his warriors lounging around all day eating bacon, while the majority serf population, builders and pig-farmers, do all the work, but getting people to play the game as serf pig-farmers and builders, just so that when they are finished, the warriors can steal it and rule, is going to be the trick.
Tank is trash? Did we not see the PVP tourney? Every class except Fighter and Ranger is OP in basically every scenario. But yes every class has bugged abilities which sucks I agree.
Yet another example why open world pvp games fail. Seriously, get rid of the entire convoluted flagging system in this game. Replace it with a simpler pvp area system. You enter the area and are automatically flagged for pvp. About 80% of the world should be made of pvp areas. The other 20% can be pure pve with nodes and resources that are limited to level 2 or 3. It's a much simpler system to program and less exploitable. I'm not saying it is exploit proof, but it's much easier to deal with.
In my opinion they need to stop the alpha 2 work for 2 more years on it to get atleast the current conent done and then open it up again its impossible to test the interessting features and the current situation of the test is really weird not gonna lie.

Gaming companies cringe at the myriad of cloud charges let alone the thought of having to pay an application security developer at a $150-160K starting salary for a senior level guy (because you don't hire anyone green for this type of work). Sad but true and it will never change.
Intrepid currently has a job listing for Senior Anti-Cheat Engineer on their website.
Poor guy

Phase 2 is 5 months with 5 days a week, compared to phase 1 at what, 2 months of 2.5 days a week?100+ test days compared to only 30 days or so total? So theres a whole lot more time to stress test and see how everything stretches and shakes out.

Narc said the game is shit, Steven got mad at him and told him to leave his game, Narc gave up on the game.

Nahh it’s because nobody give a F about these streamers and they are getting shut down thinking they are real pvpers from TnL

Deleting characters will literally do nothing. You don't think these dudes have already laundered like thousands of gold and gear sets to non exploiting accounts? Of course they have. Im on Lyneth again for this phase and it definitely feels different than phase 1. More hostile at least just pvp wise not community wise id say so far. But I've seen the written they've been putting in a lot more fixes this time around for sure. I did think we would have more at the launch of phase 2 and depending how much during this phase gets updated is how I'm gauging thier development process
I am enjoying the game for what it is, but my issue is that there is so much false advertising with this game it's really frustrating, gathering is not as shown in the live streams, crafting is neither, character models are trash, weathering system is complete garbage compared to advertisement, and now they expect us to grind another 150 hours for 0 new content
P2 delivered no new classes
No new weapons
No new zones
No new races ( if you really think these new races are not just re coloured humans you are crazy ) dwarf looks meh but I guess it's okay
I understand that all of this is suppose to be in by the end of 02 but releasing the new phase with literally nothing is wild to me, there open development is just marketing manipulation imo

So it sounds like they are finding issues.. isn't that the point of Alpha?

The phase 2 start was rushed and poorly thought out. The server pruning I understand as they want to test server support..but it really killed any enthusiasm I had for playing.

This game will never come out, the company is incapable of finishing it, and its management is even worse.
Been loving phase two honestly. But playing as someone who focuses on artisan, the scarcity of willow ruby and copper is really hindering
it seems like this game is not for the normal person. its not in a state to produce gameplay that will give me a good idea if this game is worth it. it seems like steven has given the players to much control and should be implementing systems that stomp out abuse. Either streamers stop crying and learn to grow a pair or they will scream in shame everytime they loose a verbal argument in chat- telling people they make 10k a month on bots.
@@Rasmanit it’s hyperbole. Just buggy and needs some work like each archetype does
Who is he anyways??? Mr largest content creator
@@TwoBlink7 I feel people were warned it’s a work in progress and will be a long development. Being a live service will indeed slow development and content implementation, but it will also help find bugs and listen to player feedback. The pros and cons of open development
I also feel like them dropping the alpha this early is to also light the fire under thier ass get them to push everything out sooner than later now that there's public pressure plus having as many testers as they do help get things made faster as well
Hello Nyce, it's gamer.

Ok im guilty, I did that one..
Lol!
All i know is they need to fix the pvp system, or at least put one in place because the way it works now is so terrible it has made me and several others put the game down until they make some changes. So many griefers it's not even funny.
