  • Do you Plan on LEVELING your LAWN??? Do the prices of Lawn Leveling Rakes make your head spin?
Your not alone, when I spent $200 on my professional grade lawn leveling rake, I thought I was losing my mind!
But as soon as I saw there was a leveling rake on amazon for 35 dollars, I knew I had to test it out!
Through out the past few years onon UA-cam, one of the hottest topics in the lawn community has been leveling your lawn.
Why?… Because having a level lawn is the secret to making your lawn stick out from all the rest.
But it’s no secret that lawn leveling rakes can cost an arm and a leg.
So just out of curiosity, I went out and frivolously bought the cheapest level lawn tool I could find.
But how does it compare to my professional grade golf coarse lawn leveling rake?
And most of all, is it any good????
That being said, with the astronomical prices of leveling rakes, I can defiantly see why there may be a barrier to entry for some people.
Ive seen so many custom fabricated DIY lawn leveling rakes on UA-cam lately but for some of us who are not welders, it seems a 200 dollar lawn leveler may be the only option.
Until I stumbled on this cheap lawn leveling rake on amazon for 35 bucks.
Note: Amazon has since increased the price of the lawn lute to to 49.99

Someone just told me that 'lawn leveling' is what I desperately need to do. I've lived in this house for more than ten years and there are so many bumpy low/high spots in my small yard. This smaller 'rake' is all I need. Your video inspired me!

Manual lawn leveling is back breaking work. Also the bigger the rake the more level things get. I have a 30 in and get frustrated I didn't get a bigger rake in areas where I have a bunch on small holes and mounds. I'd suggest higher someone to re-grade your yard.

Leveling my lawn will be my next task. Having a place for my two kids to play this spring/summer is important to me. Knowing they are safe with a level yard they can't get a bump and roll their ankle helps me feel at ease. This would be a great tool for me to use for this task.

Thanks for making these videos. I have found all of them very helpful. I stated a regrowing project around my house last year by taking up all the moss around my house, putting down 28 yards of soil by hand around the house, and then putting down seed. Unfortunately, i did not know about putting down peat moss as well and when we had a drought last year most of my new grass withered away. So i over seeded in the fall and got some good results this spring so far and have over seeded once again but hav added a layer of peat to the mix. Now i am looking to level my back yard after watching your videos. Looking forward to making it all work this year! Thanks

Wow, perfect timing. My daughter got me the exact same rake as a present. I was a little disheartened when I saw the size. But after watching your review I think it may work for a lot of areas in my lawn. I will still need a larger one but this will work on my narrow boulevard strip. Thanks George.

Hello! I have been looking forward to leveling my lawn because I have nearly rolled my ankle while mowing over all the divots. The yard used to have several trees, and the roots are rotting below the surface creating some really uneven areas. A multi-year project for sure!

I’ve been fighting surface roots as large as large as 4” in diameter. Our lawn is 70 years old and lots of large trees , we have removed several of the larger ones higher above ground , now filling voids and trying to cover smaller roots.
Have enjoyed your videos in leveling

So grateful for your information. I’ve seen a ton of videos, and yours have everything I’ve needed to give me the confidence to go ahead and do it!
After unfortunately taking out trees after storms and other circumstances, the old roots are rotting under the ground causing huge ruts along our lawn. I don’t have the $ to professionally level the lawn, and I’d like to do it myself over time as I know the problem will continue. Hopefully my kids won’t roll their ankles this year! 😄

You are so welcome! The best thing about leveling your lawn is.. the more you take your time with it.. the better results you'll have!
If you try to tackle it all at once the grass doesn't respond well and you can end up making it worse.
Take your time, you got this! Good luck jenny:)

Saved a bunch of money on a leveling rake and a bunch of money on a sprayer thanks to you. What did I do with my extra cash? Buy a Gorilla Cart of course.

My leveling project will involve removing dirt from a mounded up area under new sod. I thought it would settle but it hasn’t. A little different than just adding sand to level.

gooooood!! I was looking at this leveler for many months now and even talk to my brother of this one I want to level my lawn its a small area around 700 sq ft. but I want to do it myself I even get to see your other videos on how to level mixing sand and soil so that's my plan I'm just waiting to see when is the best time, I'm planning also on cutting the lawn as you mention at another video 3/4" for leveling, anyways great content here!!

Great video! Nice to know there are leveling rakes that are not ridiculously expensive! 😊 I plan to sand level this year. Unfortunately, I cut with a rotary and any dip at all his dirt. 😒

Great review! Thanks! It may take more motion than the professional grade leveler, but it definitely looks like a viable option for a homeowner. I'd love to be selected for this giveaway! Last fall, I did a full restoration of my front lawn that also involved installing irrigation. My throw down of GCI TTTF and Black Beauty Ultra came out looking out incredible, however, there are still areas that need additional leveling. Some areas ended up setting months after all the tilling and trenching. I have lots of areas in the backyard to level out as well.

Totally agree edward! plus its good exercise 😂
Wow you installed the irrigation yourself? Thats number one on my future list of projects!
Those are both awsome seeds im sure its looks awesome!
Good luck in the drawing my friend!

Enjoyed the video, appreciate the review on the cheapest rake. I am retired, and not strong enough to push/pull the 40 inch rake, so I will try the 17 inch model. Nice of you to offer the rake for free, but I am good with buying my own. Thank you, keep the posts coming, and keep up the good work. Catchercoach

My partner and I purchased our first home last year. Lo and behold, our home builders buried construction debris in our front yard and put sod right over it. Sure enough, the only thing hta survived were weeds. We have been digging up brick, PVC, Tim Horton's, amongst other things in our lawn. We have dug up as much as we can. As we speak I am planning a complete lawn renovation - killing off the whole current weed bed, fertilizing, putting new top soil, and completely re-seeding it with KBG. This tool would be perfect for the job! Thank you.
