Wana suggest because i'm also working on a floating music video too. its best if you use a green screen cloth material about 2 yards. its way better than green screen cardboard backdrop especially in windy outdoor situations.
Seeing an entire breakdown like this is so helpful, even for us in the health and fitness space. We've taken a lot of inspiration from your creative process the last few years and it has taken the production value of our YT channel and business to a whole new level. Thank you for sharing and keep doing what you do! - Juice
For green screen try clicking sample color & drawing a sample of the clip & it usually helps a little more than the sliders! Hope this helps if you haven’t tried already 🙏🏾
Here's a green screen tip I picked up along the way. If your subject is taking up more vertical space than horizontal (like standing), turn your camera sideways so you capture more resolution of the actual subject rather than the surrounding space. Great video as always!
@@nate42 good tip.. have to watch what lens is being used and the angle you shoot at though because cameras naturally have warp distortion around the sides and when you rotate the camera the head shot gets that distortion.
I’ve written and produced music for 30 odd years, but never really thought about the whole process of making a music video. Having got into Davinci and Videography I fell upon this video and man I have a lot of respect for what you do and your whole process ! Very inspiring and I don’t think I’ll ever make a music video but if I did … ya know :-)
This the best videos of the year from a videographer. If possible, do more. This so much detail and it’s so original. One of the best videos I’ve seen from you and I’ve been following since you made the video about how much u make from a 10k music video
Seriously, such an invaluable video. So helpful to learn from someone’s else’s workflow and work process. Also to know not everything doesn’t always go as planned haha. Thank you so much for sharing. Best use of 30 mins today. Haha
Been watching your channel for like almost 5 years now and I’ve learned SO MUCH from you this video is pure perfection and so helpful I’m definitely going to watch it a bunch of times and share it
Great job, thanks. Get yourself a green sheet to use outside as your green screen. If it's to thin and you can see through it attached a black fabric to it.
Would have probably been easier to ditch the green screen altogether and then rotoscope him in post, basically swapping the work on set for more work in the edit but you get a cleaner result in the end, still a pretty dope music video though! 🙌
Amazing video. And the fact you talked through the slo-mo frame rate conversions is such a sign. As I'm using this technique this weekend for a music video. In regards to keying for the floating shot. If you didn't want the chair - you could've used a stool draped in fabric green screen. Might've eliminated your problem with having the chair. But the final outcome was great, regardless. 10/10 Video. Long time subscriber and you just show time and time again why you're one of the best and informative content creators out there.
The steps to this wasn't easy at first with green screen but it ended up working out for the best .gave me a lot of ideas to as well great stuff bro...Very Inspirational for me as a Beginner
Thank you for this! I appreciate it! And you did awesome with green screen. I first dabbled back in 2011 and still learning. Thanks so much for sharing, you’ve always been transparent. You are appreciated 👌🏾🙏🏾
For the green screen not being perfect on the shoes part what you can do is roto scope since it’s on a green screen rotoscope works just as good as green screen
Idea i had i like the door way shot definitely inspired me and i like you used the chair for the floating effect if its a regular folding chair could it work spray painting it to match the green screen color to make it easier to key out?
A glow wrap on the subject would've really took the doorway shot up a level and made it look less green screen, it's fairly easy to do in After effects i'm not sure about FCP tho
2:56 have you though of a hammock style make it green, then with normal masking? use Green Tie Rope to pull where you want the subject to sit and you can angle it with the lines. thinking out side. I am learning but taking action it has been over 6 years since I have done any after effects stuff. Learning as i go with the Idea id GO. or add modern A.I. you can remove it and fill gen the backside. We live in such interesting times we can make anything we think now.
@@YCImaging Is this available under Slow & Fast settings? I've never encounter this under the normal settings, but I haven't experimented with S&F before.
hey bro thank you for making my life a lot easier by giving me and the rest of the world so much knowledge you are my idol bro keep up the great work ... can you do a vlog on the fx 30
Yo big ups 💪🏾 thanks for sharing I just got started and as you know its some many thing to know and get I love that you juat put it out there and take the time to explain thank you respect salute ✌🏾♥️💪🏾
So Hawaiki Keyer for FCP is a FAR more powerful keyer. FCP's native keyed is very basic. It's more work work with Hawaiki but the result can be fantastic. Great work man!
Great video, thanks. Only thing I would have tried to do differently is give him some light wrap where he is floating as he doesn't look like he is part of the scene. The effect is cool, but I think light wrap would have taken it to the next level, just ever so slightly to blend him in with the environment a little better. But great content, learned a few things.
LONG video, but lot's of great info. Enjoy!
Don't trip on the time some of us really need this, god bless.
I also did a video similar to this can I send it to you so you can see the outcome I did a similar approach with green screen outside lol
Wana suggest because i'm also working on a floating music video too. its best if you use a green screen cloth material about 2 yards. its way better than green screen cardboard backdrop especially in windy outdoor situations.
Long video but it's worth the time 🤠
Thank you very much for the lessons today!
Some great pointers 🔥🔥🔥

Let's goooooo!
Thank you man, your class was awesome for me and I learned.
that doorway effect 🔥🔥🔥
Really dope video bro I learned a lot from this
I noticed you went handheld instead of gimbal on this one coach. How do you determine which to use?
Thank you for this incredible breakdown 💯🔥
Where can I find the instrumental at 5:26? I will like to write to that sound
0:40 Inside is better just match lighting., Green-screen. Put them in it. Video the Area. Then add them.

Awesome insight !
U should try the Boris fx green screen key that program will key out a bad green screen as well
I'm gonna look into it.
2:26 how do you film at 36fps? Are there cameras that lets you choose the specific frame rates?
🤔😕
Yeah, most of the LUMIX cameras give you that option and the majority of cinema cameras as well

What is the diffusion plugin you mention at 13:31?
It’s in the mMusicVideo 2 plug-in I mentioned.
maybe i missed it but how did you create the shadow for the door scene? (so of the person rapping/singing.)

Where did you get the backdrop for the slomo performance shot in the garage ?
I just added it to the description, it's canvas.

blue screen would have worked better for the outside to match the light. But i appreciate your work. good job bro
Hey, nice informative video. I f I may ask, which project app are you using to plan the shots and all?
The best bro!
Thank very much for the story, give me more motivation ❤️
