I grew up on The Rock from the mid 90's. I've watched every movie hes done (The bad and the good lol). I've been following him for years and I love the guy. I do think a lot of this has to do with him being looked through a microscope. He may be the most famous person on the planet, so hes destined to have haters. I personally think the ad stuff can get annoying at times and he could have handled things a little better, but I feel he genuinely is a good dude. He did make a post that around the time the whole Joe Rogan stuff happened they were in constant communication behind the scenes and texting back and forth, so I think it was blown out of proportion.
I think overall The Rock is awesome and I'm a ride or die fan of The Final Boss! FInally your life has meaning!!!

I feel like the people unfollowing him are simply the people that started getting back into wrestling over the past few months and wanted to follow his beef with Cody. He made it entertaining to people and they used his platform to stay up to date on things. Now that all that is over, they have no need to follow him anymore. Doesn't mean they don't like him. Just means their needs have been served and they don't want to see the other stuff he's doing, which is fine.

Many years ago, Rock was a guest on Howard Stern during peak attitude era and peak Howard Stern (during E show for those of you old enough to remember) and I remember being so damn disappointed because Rock looked genuinely uncomfortable and barely said anything. During a subsequent Howard Stern show shortly thereafter, the subject of the Rock came up and before Howard could even finish his sentence Robin cut him off proclaiming that she never wanted to have him on again calling him the most boring guest they had ever had.
