Summer will always be one of my favourite songs. Been listening to it since I was like 12 years old and played it in the band I was in before I moved to Canada. Still sounds as good as when I first heard it.
It was actually the Dumont, Bogarts was the bar downstairs. This was in Saint John. I was at that show and got to meet you guys!!! One of my favorite shows of all time!!! So cool!!!

That show was awesome, the power went out mid set because lightning struck the church on Waterloo st just up the street. Crazy night that was! Aside from the awesome drumming and excellent production, hearing these behind-the-scenes stories of Sum41 are so great and brings me lot of joy. I've seen those homemade videos so many times and it's so cool to hear what was going on with the band as they were being made. Keep them coming!! Would also love to know more about the filming of Going, Going, Gonorrhea. I watched that because it came with my copy of DTLI (which, to this day, I still listen to from cover to cover. My favorite album of all time). I've probably watched the entire thing over 100x. Thanks again so much for these videos. They are excellent in so many ways. Keep it up!!!

I like these anecdotes so much because I relate. I'm 43, played punk rock with friends at the same age as Sum41 in late 90's. And we did a lot of these silly videos about non sense and humour.
These stories are awesome! I know alot of people are always like 'i like the old stuff' but Half Hour Of Power was one of my fav punk albums ever. Still holds up now.
Im not sure if I can express the healing these videos are bringing to my teenage self. Its super weird. Sum 41 have always been my absolute favourite band up to Underclass Hero. Seeing all of this brings a weird peace to me, knowing that my idols are actually just people who started and struggled like all of us. I saw you at Wembley Arena back in 2001 I think it was. Still the best show ever. Thanks for the unlimited hours of peace you guys brought to my life.

You guys introduced me to music, the first album I bought was Chuck, I was 10 and it's still my favorite album ever. Now I'm 29 (30 in 6 days), music is my life, my job (I'm an international artists national promoter in Italy), and I'm working with some of the best artists in the world. Without Sum 41 I wouldn't have been who I am today. Thanks.

I love this content dude I remember hearing fat lip on the radio for the first time. My parents were like really conservative 90s Christians. Great people but you know, buying our music at the Christian book store. My dad asks me to varnish these shelves for him in the shop under our house. So I’m down there varnishing, doors closed, no ventilation. Getting my 13 year old self accidentally high probably lol, and doing a shitty job varnishing. But I think, there’s a radio in here. My dad listens to focus on the family but there’s a rock station. This is my chance. So I change the station to whatever the local rock station was, 94.5 I think. And on comes fat lip. Holy shit. Over 20 years ago now but I’m still listening to sum 41. I have my own kids now and we listen all the time, my five year old can sing half the songs, it rules I don’t know why I told you this story. The world is weird. The fact that I can write a comment to you at all would have blown my mind back then. But here we are. Thanks so much for both the stories and the music.

Great stories Steve. I remember one day at school the MTV cameras showed up and my classmate was pulled out of school to go on the show “Becoming Sum 41”. You guys were all over MTV in the early 2000s. What was it like becoming famous and recognizable in public? Do you still get recognized?

I used to watch this with my best friend growing up in middle school. It was on the DVD that came with. Does he look infected. We were obsessed with watching this. I always wondered if the girl at the end was singing a song or talking to you guys. On the version of the DVD it was muted, I’m guessing it was because of the right to the music. So happy to finally solve the mystery today.

lol recently we recorded an album without a click cause the studio was so bad they didn't know how to play a click for the drummer's headphones, this makes me feel better
Yikes! If it's an early demo ... prob not a big deal but as you continue with the band try to get the click going! I used a click live as well and it helped my drumming 100%!

Summer has been a long-time favorite of mine. My old band played it at my high school talent show!

@stevo32drums I tried to comment last night, i have a photo of that show poster in Saint John. It was Sunday Sept 27th 1998, i was there as well. I remember the power flickering on and off during the show.

@@stevo32drums it’s the same song but production is much better. It’s my favorite song on the album so I was able to hear the difference pretty. Other than that the structure is the same. Thanks so much for sharing your memories. Sum 41 is one of my favorite bands and the original line up will always be special. Got to see you on NH back in the 00s and you were great

I used to watch this with my best friend growing up in middle school. It was on the DVD that came with. Does he look infected. We were obsessed with watching this. I always wondered if the girl at the end was singing a song or talking to you guys. On the version of the DVD it was muted, I’m guessing it was because of the right to the music. So happy to finally solve the mystery today.

lol recently we recorded an album without a click cause the studio was so bad they didn't know how to play a click for the drummer's headphones, this makes me feel better
Yikes! If it's an early demo ... prob not a big deal but as you continue with the band try to get the click going! I used a click live as well and it helped my drumming 100%!
