Yup, when I do my semi-annual copper salvage I sometimes see something I want and they sell it to me for $0.25 more per pound than salvage. It’s usually an extra $5 and I get a lawnmower body, unbolt the part I want and toss it back on the pile, (or something like that). Bought a bike with crazy suspension and a carbon fiber rim, (other one was broken 😢) for $25. I gave it to my neighbor who said the one wheel was worth $500 and the shock was still fairly modern and worth nearly the same. Nice spare parts for the man, he was almost in tears when I asked for $35 because I wanted $10 for my time.
I get it!! I buy used Chevy trucks, put a lot of time, parts effort, blood sweat and tears into these things. And then people come along and try, I do say try to bring my price down to were I'm making about $7 per hour. People, give a man a break.
There are people who scrap stuff before trying to sell it. Sometimes it's not worth their time. Sometimes they don't have time, they night t not know better, bad past experience. And the list goes on but I don't have the time for that list
I had a buyer come out to buy something and he broke it (temporarily) thinking I would agree to seal it to him for less. The girlfriend gave away the buyer was in the business which revealed he knew exactly what he was doing. Good news is he drove over an hour to buy the thing. The guy is right there are too many PREDATORS out there and it’s best to just beware! Cash only in all bills or meet the buyer at a bank.
If you held on to everything to save it or sell it it you will need a few million squre foot of soace to hol on to itbe careful God bless you and your entire family and crew
I work commercial construction and I always have extra material left on jobs I would try to sell things for about 1/4 of its value now it goes into the dumpster or the scrapyard because of people giving me the runaround or lowballing after putting in the ads no lowball offers the price is the price. I hate throwing things out that could be useful but I don't have the patience or time to deal with bums
I completely understand what you mean I run a small mechanic business and I do sell stuff from time to time and Facebook marketplace is basically worthless
But I can't pay you until th first my ex wife has me on child support payments but my new gfs kid would love that go kart he smashed, I could have put a predator 420 on there and anodized the frame
I went throu stuff like that.dealing with people just wasnt my thing I just scrsped it got tired of dealing with .ok ill be nice .just scrsp it unless you want the headaces
Well I think that may become the definition of hoarding then LOL Though I can't say I have an extended amount of old stock in my job is a renovation / maintenance man specialist AKA I make the hood habitable
Dont you think someone tried to sell it before it went to the scrap yard. And he is right, the dealing with lowballers, people wanting a 5$ piece off of it, and the people who ask if it runs, when the first picture clearly shows it has no engine, just isn't worth it. I can't tell you how many people asked for a front bumper or hood on a Honda i was parting out, when the first picture on the add is the extremely smashed in front end.....like wtf, did you not look at, or read the ad your responding to?
@@ryurc3033 not necessarily, a lot of people are dumb and just throw good stuff away all the time. I’ve noticed that the rich people are the worst,it’s like they have so much money they don’t care at all lol. And a lot of times they don’t even worry about recycling metals, they just set everything out for the trash service.

I hope he makes $5,000 off the video. 😂
So true. I hate selling things today.
That's why i like my local scrap yard I've bought so many things from them for 25 cents a pound over scrap value.

You are 100% correct
The real estate is worth a lot more than whatever it is you're trying to store and wait for someone to buy. Got to send it on down the line LOL
Way Better than Whistlin Diesel and not really destroying anything of significant value.
