I’m a sociologist, so I’m always interested in the PEOPLE involved in a hobby. It would be interesting to get Harry’s take on the different categories of stackers/collectors in precious metals and any trends over time or among groups that he has noticed.
I'm one stacker that stacks in preparation for God's plan to *TAKE BACK WHAT IS HIS.* He warns His kids & the wicked in Haggai 2:8, *"The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine, declares the Lord of hosts."* Then God instructs us further in Proverbs 13:22 by encouraging His kids that, *"...the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up."* So my stacking adventure is knowing that my Father God in heaven *HAS BIG PLANS* that 99% will be surprised by. This is my mindset, brother.
@@lawrencecole6527 I considered doing some research on the community, but figured access would be an issue, given how people are understandably wary of sharing information about their involvement with precious metals. But just from casual observations, there seem to be so many different and identifiable segments within the hobby, with different goals, customs, and behaviors. And I imagine a lot of those track onto demographics like age, class, and definitely political leanings. Some very interesting stuff.
Topic suggestion:: "Buy the book before you buy the coin" Get each of the guys to bring in a coin book they consider a good/worthwhile purchase. Whether its something like a price guide or maybe a book on the history of minting. But I'd love to see what they'd recommend. Personally I'd love to get some confidence in Japanese and Canadian coins but wouldn't know where to start
Could listen to these folks talk all day. All of Harrys crew are just so friendly and knowledgeable. Could we maybe talk about the pros and cons of coins minted by different mints? Eagles vs Maples vs Britannia's etc.
Hello from Sault Sainte Marie Ontario Canada Silver Dragons, Harry & Adrian Love your videos, I always look forward to every video, you guys are great!!! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge!! Have a wonderful week!! Melissa D.
Video idea..I think a sit down style interview with Harry would be interesting. I'm sure he has many stories..and I just like his style! He is the type of guy that when he talks, people listen😀
Great wifey Idea 💡! Always good advice to include your listeners / viewers wants!! I would enjoy a video(s) on star ⭐️ notes as I collect them now for 20 years.
Thinking about starting to stack in a few weeks. I'm on a minimum wage salary in UK, I'm 43 and haven't got a retirement plan. I'm thinking stacking might be a nice way to help the cause, and eventually id like to be in a position to get some smelting equipment and refine silver from junk. Your videos have been the most helpful I've come across so far, great work guys.
My question for Harry and Adrian: Which do you recommend -- to stack on a weekly or monthly schedule corresponding to your pay periods as a regular discipline, or to hold your fiat currency and let it build up while you closely watch the markets and try to catch the dips? -- And if the latter, how much of a percentage drop in spot price really constitutes a "dip" in your opinion?
A topic I would like to see is about collecting coins: coins in holders vs raw coins. I think it's no secret in Europe we tend to not care so much for coins in holders and particulary the grading of coins, whereas in the US it seems to be all about the grades. I would love to hear Harry's/Adrian's/Richard's opinion on the whole grading/slabs or just raw coins discussion.
most "grading" companies like coins to collectible card grading companies are american. It is a service export they are trying to sell as any profits they see from that industry results in money coming into the country from outside countries. It is simply world consumerism at its finest and they want everyone else to get into it so more foreigners start paying american companies to grade their stuff so america can then profit off the tax of the international sales.
Topic: I’m new to metals and don’t hear much about insuring a large stack against theft. Or is it supposed to remain undocumented and as secret as possible? If not insured I’d like to know how the typical stacker finds peace of mind. Is it simply the strongest safe you can afford?
Idea #1 - Protection & Storage (flips, capsules, tubes, and cardboard/stapled things) which to use for what coin? What not to buy? What to look for when buying? What Harry has in the store?
Maybe some topics for a future video: 1. What coins are really selling well as far as Numismatic value is concerned or in other words what are people collecting most (Morgan's, error xoins, type coins ,rare coins etc..)? 2. How do coin shops like Harrys purchase coins, wholesale, private collectons, estate.sales etc..3. You have a lot of great deals on.beachcity auctions including rarer coins how are youu able to afford the losses, or is the auction mainly to increase your cash flow so better purchases can be.made with better sales resulting?

Just started watching your channel yesterday, so I would love to know where Harry's shop is. He and his young side-kick seem like such nice fellas, I would love to make a purchase at their store if it's not too far away. 😁 Keep up the interesting topics! Skol!
Cheers SD! I would be interested to know Harry's opinion on investing in numismatics. For example, I love the 1921 Peace Dollars, but they are spendy. I don't sell or flip anything, the stack is all for the kiddos. So, hopefully, nothing will be sold for at least 20 plus years. Thanks Dragons and hope you and the family are having a wonderful summer!!🔥🔥👊🏼☮️
I asked myself the question, my answer is: (for what it's worth) I prefer precious metal coins that are non numismatic, You don't have to pay an extra premium for an intangible value, something that might go out of fashion like stamps, teapots, Franklin Mint plates, baseball cards, Beany Babies and the like. Baby boomers are disappearing and the new generations coming don't seem to be as interested in collector items. An ounce of pure gold or silver should remain the base of a serious investment portfolio. Numismatics should remain a hobby item.
Firstly, I'm so grateful that I discovered this channel. Your videos are top notch with information shared that is close to error free, levels beyond 6 sigma, lol. (I wonder how many 9's that would be 😆) Having said that, perhaps an idea for future shows would be discuss a bit on hedging, i.e. longing/shorting/straddling precious metals positions not only for speculative purposes, but for purposes of managing cash flow based on inventory and dates of sales. After viewing a few videos, it is my understanding that Harry & Team really don't get into this type of stuff as they "make their living in the spread" (Idea for show # 2: Discuss more on the spread), but any insight from these coin super-minds would be extremely helpful. Thank you for considering. Sincerely, Media Pro.
I am glad you made these videos. I have collected silver and gold coins since I was a kid but learn something I didn't know every time I watch a video. Knowledge is Power!
Great video again. As far as questions go, I'd like to ask why Saint Helena silver coins and bars from the East India company always seem to trade for a lower premium than most others?. I have to admit that I like a lot of their designs.
In my country there is a tax on silver but not on gold. So for me it is more of a watching from the side lines type of thing to watch your videos. I always love the information about gold here and there and also all the cool unique coins that come through the shop. No. Get graded morgans from after 1978 but before 1921. A lot only had mints of 10 million. Theyre not going to get any. Cheaper. If you buy a 2007 proof coin its not got any serious value for 100 years compared to a coin thats no longer minted it only had 10 million made in a certain mint in a certain year 140 years ago so a lot probably didnt make it things like housefires meltings and circulation etc. Domt buy a proof version of a modern coin that holds value close to spot buy a decent quality old coin like a morgan because its value is potentially going to go up more in comparison
I'd like to hear Harry's and the others thoughts on classic silver commemoratives. Do they have any in their personal collections, do they have a favorite commemorative design, is there a commemorative that flies off the shelf in shop? Thanks for letting us hang out with Harry.
Cool video and I like the "viewer's choice" video idea. I would like to know what Harry, Adrien, and Richard think are the most liquid forms of both gold and silver in case we have a financial emergency and need to sell. Thanks!
Generally, most people trust the integrity of dealers at coin shows, but how do you guarantee that the coins you are purchasing are not fake when so many look so good? Do dealers run into many fake coins at coin shows?
I like the Canadian Maples because they have the protective layer as a shield from tarnish and milk spots, but I stack the American Eagles too because I’m from Texas and it’s just truly a beautiful coin also more liquid here in the USA.
@@af2w131f If you were hoping for a scientific breakdown of mintshield, the Royal Canadian Mint hasn’t been forthcoming with the actual information behind this proprietary new technology, but mintshield is an invisible barrier applied to the surface of 2018 and up Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins that protects against milk spots without causing any alteration in the coin’s composition or purity.
@@918KLR I went to their webpage and trying to understand all the marketing terms. It’s a lot of vague terms like “bullion DNA” etc but from what I can tell they partnered with a few French corporations that specialize in biometric technologies. Coins are initially photographed and then systems employed at various places with the scanning tech can identify and track coins locations while easily spotting fakes.
This might be a fairly covered topic already but I haven't seen anything and that's "what's a fair premium?" Obviously that depends a lot on the product but are there general percentages for certain types of products? For example, I popped in my local shop the other day and they were selling 1oz silver Kruger Rands for $40 when spot was in between $29 and $30. American silver eagles were over $40, I think $41-$42, constitutional half dollars were a few dollars over spot when buying $1 face value and I asked them what they were buying .999 generic silver rounds for, they said about $25, so $4 under spot. On buying I could find better deals online, and factoring in shipping, all you have to do is buy a few pieces to make the deal, factoring shipping in, better than the store. It wasn't always like that there either 🤷♀️

Do a video on keeping your silver from toning. Precautions when restoring a silver coin. And the exchange of selling a silver coin that has been cleaned ( one that has no numismatic value vs one that does) thank you
@@indivisibleman8596 exactly I don’t really know much about this. I would like to clean some of my silver coins like the 2024 American silver eagles that I have before I put them in a capsule. I guess I don’t want them toning because I heard toning while pretty is basically damage to the surface layer of the coin
Diversity of metals and diversity within a specific group of metals, for example 70% silver, 20% gold, 10% platinum and then diversity in each group as to % of numismatic to generic rounds, rounds to bars, 999 fine to 90% and throw in .925, .80, .70 and less percentage of silver, coins, bars and so forth! As a Canadian, I can confirm that the four nines thing is purely marketing. It's meaningless, they just use it to say "well, WE have purer silver than the other guys, buy from the RCM instead of rounds and foreign coins!!"

I really look forward to you going to Harry's and talk about different coins. because I'm confused on what I should get more of.
Though the difference between .999 and .9999 is technically small the higher purity does represent a better and more advanced refining process.
I'd like to hear Harry's and the others thoughts on classic silver commemoratives. Do they have any in their personal collections, do they have a favorite commemorative design, is there a commemorative that flies off the shelf in shop? Thanks for letting us hang out with Harry.
Topic suggestion: stacking rare exotic precious metals like rhodium, iridium, osmium, etc.
Cool video and I like the "viewer's choice" video idea. I would like to know what Harry, Adrien, and Richard think are the most liquid forms of both gold and silver in case we have a financial emergency and need to sell. Thanks!
Would love to see a video specifically on Peace silver dollars. a 2nd suggestion would be 10oz silver bars.
Defiantly Something on peace dollars, under rated coins
Great content. If you can please make a video on Harry getting a some stock? Like monster box of coins. Love the silver bullion.
Canadians Maples = All silver no filler.
Yeah, with milk spots for no extra charge.
@@gilldavidmour4199 Real Canadians don't cry over spilled milk 😉
@@gilldavidmour4199 Newer years don't have milk spots
Well. Then you know they are genuine because they have Milk Spots. 😏
@@alanmcnew5376all those milk spots are anti-counterfeit features 🤪
Hi SilverDragons! Thank you for the vlog! Definitely keep the silver eagles before the maples. For the US gold, I prefer the Buffalo over the Eagle.
How about a video on the most recent fake gold and silver flooding the market?
My dealer has a whole bucket of fakes. Always willing to share info. And compare fake to real. I almost bought fakes😢
Generally, most people trust the integrity of dealers at coin shows, but how do you guarantee that the coins you are purchasing are not fake when so many look so good? Do dealers run into many fake coins at coin shows?
@@haroldkralik481 I was new and at a flea market. 🫣 the cheap price should have been a clue.
Potential subject - discuss the desirability of silver rounds from different refiners
I like the Canadian Maples because they have the protective layer as a shield from tarnish and milk spots, but I stack the American Eagles too because I’m from Texas and it’s just truly a beautiful coin also more liquid here in the USA.
Maples spot more than I have seen than Eagles.Specially 2015 maple’s
@@Lonepatriot69 it was in 2018 a mint shield was developed by the Royal Canadian Mint to prevent milk spots and tarnish.
@@918KLRcan you tell me what a mint shield is? Is it some sort of coating added onto the silver?

And the exchange of selling a silver coin that has been cleaned ( one that has no numismatic value vs one that does) thank you
cleaned coins can still have numismatic value, depending on what coin it is.
Thanks guys!

Great video, as always! I have learned so much!
I wish Beaverton & Birmingham,AL weren’t sooo far apart. I sure would be visiting you guys on a regular basis. No coin shops here in my area..PERIOD.
I agree💯. I was thinking the same thing. What a friendly place. It would be great to visit in person. They have so much to offer those of us wanting to expand our knowledge and our stacks!
They are the same in person as in the videos... Very genuine and kind. You'll have to plan a trip out to Oregon someday.
Southern Coin and Collectibles in Hoover on US-31
Great job guys!! Keep up the good work!!
I was told by a local coin shop in Virginia Beach that .999 & .9999 didn't matter to them.
As a Canadian, I can confirm that the four nines thing is purely marketing. It's meaningless, they just use it to say "well, WE have purer silver than the other guys, buy from the RCM instead of rounds and foreign coins!!"
In 2011 4 9's was scarse and people where paying more for it.

I am not interest at all in American Eagles because easy to make fake ones and i am not interest al all in buying them because why pay one cent more than other coins out there.
The design is good though, but I prefer also more the shiny coins.
I bought a tube of 2022 goddess Europe silver ounces an to my suprise they are absolutely beautiful.

Silver Dragons, have you put much thought into opening your own coin shop? This question also stands for the rest of Harry’s crew.
I’d like just a quick mention on your thoughts on investing in platinum. Perhaps just for diversification.
Platinum has been going down for the past three years at least, maybe it will go up again. Platinum was worth more than gold some ten years ago.

Hey Fellas, here’s a topic I’d like your insight on:
What are the advantages/disadvantages of buying silver bullion from a local coin store versus reputable online sources such as SD Bullion and APMEX?
Thanks 🙏
.9999 looks so much better. Of my 1500 ounces my favourite piece is a 10oz RCM .9999 bar.
Thank you Silver Dragons, Adrian, and, of course, Harry! You teach everyone so much. Love these videos!
The star notes are absolutely a rip off 😂 only for the benefits of the dealer, suckers would pay premium for this kind of scam is ridiculous.

While I understand the question here, I think we stretched this out way too long...it doesn't matter if it's .999 or .9999 it's 1oz....moving on!
EDIT: And this idea of bartering is absolute nonsense! If the world ENDS is these people keep pushing the idea of and we have to live in a world where we need to survive somehow, it won't be by trading silver or gold. It'll be trading bullets at each other and taking what they want. Just nonsense!
Some of us believe in being prepared for whatever the situation could be, there will always be people who are never prepared for anything!
There's more than one way a civilization can die.
Yep, if it comes to the point where silver and gold bartering comes into play, things will be pretty bad in this country!
There's always one.
@@JR-mc4wg Who uses logic? Think about it though! Doomsday preppers are all about you ain't gonna be able to survive w/o this currency or take my stuff!
